Lexus SC430 :: Rolling Marble Sound Near Windshield

So I've noticed an annoyance with my car lately. I've noticed when I turn either right or left upon starting my car, that i hear a small sound, as if a marble is rolling along the inner windshield but it never runs the entire length of the car to the other side. I have noticed when I make a right turn, it occurs on the right corner of the windshield. When I make a left turn it occurs on the left corner of the windshield. Never runs all the way across the windshield like something is actually rolling along the windshield edge or behind the dash.

Squeaks, rattles and anything else that makes noise (other than the stereo and especially my wife) You can imagine my total horror when I went around a corner and I heard what sounded like a marble rolling through the roof or dash of the car. I've been able to replicate it a few times but I have to be cornering pretty hard to get it to do it. I have had 1/2 of the top apart.....3/4 of the dash apart, under the hood, in the glovebox and console as well as underneath the frame and I cannot for the life of me find the source of the noise.

I know VW's are quirky. When I shut the engine off, around 5 seconds later there comes a funny marble dropping sound from the engine compartment. It sounds as if you were to drop a marble on a table and let it bounce a couple times. I can't figure out what it is.

2010 Prius with 100,020 miles on it. Car has had regular oil changes on schedule with M1 0W-20.
Noticed engine rattling/marble sound at low RPM under load a few weeks ago. This is not just when the engine is cold or on startup. Sometimes when hot. It's also not all the time. It's felt/heard over on the pax side. Just wondering where to go (dash/engine mount?). I did download the TSB for rattling but the local dealer has never heard of it even when they asked their tech (?!? How is that possible?). It's a good dealer so that surprises me.
What to look at? No codes so far.

I just had my front passenger window replaced due to an attempted break in, and I noticed now that my window sounds very harsh rolling up and down versus my other three windows. The window goes up and down at the same speed as the other windows that wasn't touched, but now its just not as quiet as the others; which to me now is more of an annoying sound.

Just got my second sc, after I crashed my first one and the little button that releases the wiper fluid to clean the windshield is gone, how I can find such a small part? Does the sc300/400 use the same wiper lever/arm as ours?

This just started out of nowhere ... I took a sharp turn and all of a sudden, it sounded like a marble running from the left to the right of the dashboard. Took a turn in the other direction, and the "marble" rolled from right to left.
It is definitely not something that fell into the dashboard, so I feel it must be a component that came loose under the dash. But is there really a "channel" that runs across the length of the dash? Is there a way to access the innards without having to remove the whole dash assembly?

After a rough winter here in NJ there are a ton of pot holes and I think I may have jolted loose the rear view mirror. It now shakes so bad I can't even look at it. It makes me dizzy. It seems like it is loose where it connects to the windshield, not where the actual mirror connects. I took off the smaller of the two covers but didn't see anything I could tighten. It also doesn't appear that the actual mirror comes apart. I have to point it away from me at night, it's like a strobe light!

2005 LEXUS RX 330 5w/30 oil. Warm weather state...
On first start up with acceleration I hear what seems to sound like a marble shaking around in my engine/transmission.. It is present when i accelerate and not when I am at a stop position.

I have recently started to hear (at frequent intervals) a loud buzzing sound that can best be described as a phone vibrating/buzzing while its on a table. The sound happens every few minutes and is pretty annoying. It seems to be coming from around the navigation area or glove compartment - i cant pinpoint it. I turned off the radio and AC and the sound is still present. My Navigation Wood cover has been STUCK for a few months (doesn't come out and shut nor tilt) but not sure if that is the cause here. What can be causing this sound?

It just happened yesterday on the freeway, as I hit a small bump. Need to mention this stretch of freeway has those extremely annoying ridges that make everything rattle inside the car, besides the deafening tire howling. But after they're gone, all used to be well. Yesterday, after said bump, this very loud noise behind the center air vents started all of a sudden. It increased with speed.
Sounded like a motor turning. Thought it was the NAV motor (which I never use), but opened it and closed it, and it functioned well. Tried the motor for the stereo cover, and also worked fine. When the motors were operating the sound persisted. The noise disappeared below 50 mph. And not even in broken pavement was present. After speeding above 50 again, now in smooth pavement, it was back. I guess it's there to stay... until 'killed'.
I HATE dealers going on a fishing expedition in my cars, so prefer to know what the heck is causing it, and preferably do it myself (don't trust the only dealer in town). I'll try to tackle it myself, but no way I can live with that noise, so a trip to the dealer seems almost certain, as I don't have a service manual yet to get behind the dash.

I have owned 2 SC and I notice both of the SC I have owned get a odd " hissing " sound, when the ignition is turned to the " On" position with the key located in the engine area, It will come on and then go off ...
Sometimes this " hissing " sound will come back on when driving and then off again ...
Hissing sound when the key is turned only to the "on" position?

I have had my '02 SC since 2007 and frequently when I turn the key to start, I hear an instantaneous "electronic click" sound. I have ignored it and no service person has ever mentioned it, nor have I requested a Lexus diagnosis.

So, last night I was driving with radio off and a "whirring/fan" sound was audible in the rear of my 2002 SC430 - a sound that I have never heard. The sound seemed to resonate from the driver side, access panel (which I believe holds fuses and other systems for roof). After the vehicle was stopped and restarted the sound continued. Now today, I insert the key into the ignition - no sound; turn to accessory - sound is audible; started vehicle and did not hear sound. Second time I repeated and sound was heard; started and did not hear sound, Third time I repeated and no sound heard in accessory start position. What the heck is this? Any diagram of the trunk and what components are housed in the center bay? Does this vehicle have any auto-leveling function that activates?

I have a high mileage 2002 SC430.
I have noticed that when I start the engine on a cold morning and start driving right away I hear a distinct "cracking" sound from behind the air vents (dash area) when accelerating. This only occurs when the engine is cold and when I am accelerating, this does not occur when the car is parked (I have not tried revving the engine when the car is parked, since it doesn't seem like a good idea).
A a side note, I do typically move the temperature setting to the max of 85 degrees on cold mornings, but the cracking sound often comes up 5-10 minutes after I change the temperature setting. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it.

I'm I just purchased a SC430 2002, car make a clicking noise when shifting gears. Example when I turn my car on and shift from Park to Reverse I hear a clicking noise and then when I go from Reverse to Drive it makes a clicking noise. Sometimes it just goes away. Is it a transmission issue or if this is a common sound.

Somewhat frequently my wife's 2003 makes this sound. It sounds like it's coming from behind the instrument cluster. It can last for several minutes. I did a search on the forum but couldn't find anything.

I have a 2002 sc430 with 120000 miles, great car no problems just maintenance. For the last couple of days I heard a chirping sound as I slowed down to a stop. The only thing I could think was the brakes, but I just changed the front and rear pads March 2011. So today I looked at the front brakes and saw the pads at about 50% and everything else looked good. Then went to the rear and saw something I thought was odd...take a look at the picture.... The last time I changed the pads I don't recall having this problem. See the red arrow, one of the pads is worn almost completely down and the circle shows a lip on both pads??? I checked the caliper pistons and they work fine, the pin that hold the pads is not bent and the clips are fine.
