Lexus has diagnosed a ground fault with an intermittent connection.... I am not sure how to proceed ... Could it be a light bulb connection... or does it even have these? Can the part be serviced in place... or must I replace the whole assembly?
View 4 RepliesMy wife's 2010 ES 350 third brake light has an intermittent LED issue. The last 3 LEDs on the pass side flash on/off when the brake is depressed. My understanding is there may be a broken solder joint. My problem is I can't seem to get the assembly out. How the high mount assembly is mounted and how to remove it?
View 2 Replies2010 F-250 14,000 miles, gas engine with Knapheide utility bed. Tilt wheel has been kept in the up position from day 1.
The problem:
No rear brake lights.
No high mount brake light.
No rear turn signals.
No rear hazard flashing lights.
All trailer lights work.
All other truck lights work.
Things checked: Fuses all OK. Visual inspection of multi-function switch. Looks clean. Brake switch at brake pedal has power on one wire. Jumpered the other wire-no brake lights.
I need to haul my trailer and am nervous when I see a Savannah, GA metro police car.
How do you remove and reinstall just the lens in the rear light assembly in 2002 SC430 ? I can see that it probably just snaps out using a screwdriver as a pry tool but want to be sure !
View 5 RepliesCan this be changed easily by a non-dealer? The local Autozone doesn't list any replacement bulbs or assemblies, and I can't see a simple way of accessing the light assembly from the trunk.
View 1 RepliesSomeone mentioned to me this week that my high mount brake light was not working. No big deal, just a burned out bulb I assumed. Well, I replaced the bulbs (two bulbs) and it still does not work. The sockets look fine, no corrosion. The wiring that I can see looks good. I used a volt meter & found I'm getting no juice at the socket . . ? Is there an in line fuse or something else simple I should check. I'm thinking this should be an easy fix & am frustrated I can't figure it out. By the way, my lower brake lights are working fine.
View 3 RepliesTrying to replace the burnt bulbs. Did the obvious: removed the two screws but in no way could I take the red lens off. I pried hard almost broke it but it's not coming off. It feels like some other mechanism holding it down. It is the one on top of the lift gate. The inside is just a hole with wires going through. What's the trick?
View 12 RepliesJust bought an 02' camry and the high mount brake light on the spoiler is half burnt out. Tried removing what I'm guessing is an LED assembly but the screws are stuck and the angle is really awkward. Am I going to have to replace the whole LED bar?
View 2 RepliesRecently I noticed that three LEDs in my 05 SantaFe's high mount stop light glow even without the brake applied. When the brake pedal is depressed, the entire light glows as it should. But only the three LEDs glow at all times.
View 13 RepliesMy high mount break light works sporadically. When I break, sometimes you can see it as bright as it can be, other times it is dim, and then sometimes no light comes on. The dealership could not even figure out how to get to the led unit.

The one that intrigues me is "found transmission mount worn/loose" recommend "replace transmission mount".
I will take car to my friendly local repair shop this week (never go to Lexus dealership unless it's free).
I'm no mechanic but I've been around cars for a long time and I've never heard of this before: besides the car only has 50000 miles on it.
Am I possibly being scammed or is this legit?

View 3 Repliesmy 70K mile 2005 passenger side brake light is sporadically dim (5 or 6 of the LEDs light up dim) and occasionally (but rarely) is fully bright. The driver side brake light and all of the other lights work fine.
Does this sound like I need to replace the whole assembly or have the electrical connections and voltage checked?
Also, I assume that the tail light assembly removal instructions that are posted for the 2007 are the same as for the 2005.
I have done hours of searching about the rough idle on the SC430. What I haven't been able to find is any information about an intermittent rough idle. I have cleaned my MAF sensor twice.
I am having my mechanic replace the radiator tomorrow because of a leak and he is also replacing the idler pulley and the belt tensioner (one of them is making a noise and I purchased an extended warranty!) At the same time he will be doing a throttle body cleaning. I had my timing belt replaced as well as the water pump and had my mechanic check all the spark plugs and all were fine.
I am going to have him check the motor mounts as well. The RPM's are fine with the AC on or off and I have used Lucas fuel treatment on this current tank of gas without any results and my next tank I will try Seafoam as suggested by my mechanic.
About every 10 to 20 minutes while driving I hear 5 or six intermittent beeps. No warning lights or anything, just the beeps. What is it? I have a 2002 SC430.

View 10 RepliesOne channel (FM 90.3) delivers perfect sound for two seconds, then complete silence for a half sec. then two more seconds of perfect reception. No fade, no static, just on and off regular as a clock. This station broadcasts on two other frequencies which are behaving and 90.3 comes in fine on my other vehicle.

View 2 Replies2002 ... I've been getting a soft engine fault all three lights on and reduced power. This usually occurs if I accelerate hard but also happens if I take a small pot hole in the front, a little bump seems to trigger it as well. Also engine resets to normal after removing key.
It's not logging the fault as had dealer read ECU and said was not logged.
