I have a question as to the sc430 reclining position.. my Sc430 will not recline far back as I would like for my normal driving position.. My GS300 reclines far back as I want.
View 14 RepliesI love my SC430, and want to keep it another ten years! BUT... I reclined the passenger seat this weekend, and now it won't go back up. Using the release lever, I can pull it up, but if you sit there or put any pressure on it, it falls right back down again to full reclining position.

My problem is my seat will recline but will not go back up. Basically every time I hit the recline switch my seat is stuck a little further reclined. I am not sure if the problem is the switch, motor, control box ect. When I move the recline switch I hear the relay in the control box close. Nothing happens when I press forward. Very difficult seat to work on. I can't even sort out where the recline motor is. It seems to be in the seat back though and not under the seat but I am not sure and diagrams are unclear to me.

View 4 RepliesI've had a squeak, for lack of a better word, in the back seat near or rear window. I couldn't tell if it was the rear seat back or something else.
I began lowering the roof and stopped the process by turning off the ignition while the roof was just setting down in the trunk. This leaves the raised covers pointing up vertically to let the roof pass. (When the roof is up these covers form the rear "package shelf".) In the center of the car just under this cover there is a round black rubber bumper stop the size of a 50 cent piece (whatever those are). This stop is adjustable up-and-down. Rotating it counterclockwise raises the stop and clockwise lowers it. I raised my rubber stop, by hand, a couple of turns upward.
That's all. The squeak is gone. This bumper apparently bind the package shelf to the roof when it is up and stops if from moving around - and squeaking. I don't know the Lexus method for adjusting this bumper stop but a turn or two made a wonderful difference in my mood today.
Removing the back seat to allow the front seats to be reclined more? at 6'4'' I need more leg room! Or any other way on getting more leg room in the front seats?

View 4 RepliesI have a 2006 sc430 and have been having problems with the drivers memory seat although the passenger one works fine.
I have disconnected my batter for 5 minutes, moved the passenger seat all the way forward, heard the beep. Moved the reclining part all the way forward until I heard the beep, and the memory seat for the passenger works great.
I moved the drivers seat all the way forward, heard the beep. Moved the reclining part all the way forward until I heard the beep, but the memory seat won't beep (when you hold set and a number). I even replaced my drivers mirror (didn't tilt down due to bad motor), but that didn't work. Of course, I did redo disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it resetting both drivers seat and passenger seat.
When I come to either a hard stop or apply my brakes hard while on the highway I can feel a slight shift of the seat forward (as if it is tilting forward) and then when I accelerate again I feel it rock back into place. I only weigh about 150lbs so I doubt it has to do with that. It's minimal and I think it started at around 50K miles (so, just a couple thousand miles ago).

View 1 RepliesWeird seat heater issue on my 05 TAP/Ecru. Drivers side seat heater tends to fail intermittently after I apply leather care liquid on the seat. Does not happen on the passenger side. In winter, it failed for nearly a week before coming back to life. Yesterday it failed for the evening, then started working again today. Each time right after I applied leather care to the seats. Same amount applied to passenger and driver's seat and the passenger seat is always OK.
What is causing this ? Of course each time I go to the dealer, it is working fine !!!!
I have a 2013 Lexus ES 350 with navigation. Is it possible to stop the drivers seat from moving back when I turn the car on? It also moves forward to the position I had it when I start the car.

View 8 RepliesSo this morning, I pressed memory seat #1, and it did not move my chair to the position that I set it for. I had to adjust the chair manually. Every time, I move the chair back or recline the back, in intermittently beeped every 1-2 seconds. It does not beep if I move the chair forward. Could it be the fuse? or what could be wrong?
View 9 RepliesI got into our car (2013 RX 450h) and the seat was completely pushed back. I had been the last (and only ) driver of our car and had not adjusted the seat. I managed to reach the brake pedal, started the car, pushed the L1 seating position and my seat re-adjusted. I then put the car into Drive and when I stepped on the accelerator, it would not move.
The parking brake was not on, there was nothing obstructing the car. I turned it off, turned it on again and it was then fine. I had last driven it 3 days prior, the battery was fine, the outside temperature was registered as 30 degrees, so not excessively cold. We park in a garage although it is not entirely closed off from the outside air.
Experienced this with the car no moving despite being in drive and stepping on accelerator?
We just got a new 2014.5 LE, but I noticed that front passenger seat in it doesn't recline flat when reclined backwards. We also have 2012 Camry hybrid, and the difference in seat reclining between them is 3/4". 2012 passenger seat reaches back seat when fully reclined, and 2014.5 does not, it has quite a large gap. Is my 2014.5 seat defective and needs to be fixed, or are all of them are made like this now? We had two 2006 Camrys before, and in both of them front passenger seats reclined fully, touching the back seat...
View 8 RepliesMy RX350 is over 4yrs old with 105k km on it. I notice lately when I drive off the seat moves back a bit and when braking hard it moves forwards. It is about quarter of an inch movement but it is noticeable. I guess it is not under warranty now. I looked under the seat but can not find where this is coming from, I am assuming it must be a loose bolt that needs to be tightened.
View 4 RepliesOn several other cars I've owned it was possible to link a key fob to seat memory. Meaning if my wife used her remote fob to open the car doors the seats and mirrors were set to her memory position etc.
I searched the owner manual and don't see this feature on our SC430.
I took my car to a mechanic the other day to get the spark plugs change. Then I notice when I turn my car on my seats starts to vibrate when in idle. Is this normal cuz the mechanic says this is normal and that every car vibrates just a little. I read some where it could be the mounts but someone on here told me they not because it doesn't shake my seats just vibrates if I seat there I can feel the seats vibrating on and off its not crazy bad vibrate. It's a minor vibration. I was hoping for no vibration what so ever like sitting in on my leather couch in my living room. Mine is a old model 2002.
