So everything in my car has no memory issues but my clock always says 1:00 ... when I start the car....
I have tried another control unit (the climate control, nav screen, etc buttons) where the clock is located to see if I had a bad unit and it still did the same thing.
I have a brand new battery from Lexus and everything else in the car seems to be fine....this was an issue before I bought the new battery.
Every once in awhile my car "resets." When I turn the key to the off position, my clock and trip odometer resets to 12:00 and 0.0mi and my radar detector shows a warning of low voltage.. I looked at all the fuses, and they are all good. And it seems to be intermittent.

View 9 RepliesI am the happy owner of a white 2005 Santa Fe 2.7l with 105,000 miles on her. Trying to figure out why the dashboard clock resets itself at random.It doesn't do it while I'm in it or driving. Only when I return to it when parked at a store or wherever, or mornings. The car seems to have plenty of juice when running. New alternator and battery were installed last November. Triple-checked those parts and cleaned some connections under the hood.
View 3 RepliesEvery time I turn the car on, the "from start" fuel economy reading resets to 15l/100k. After driving for a while it goes down to 4l/100k but then resets back to 15 once the car is turned off. Is there any way to get it to stay at what it finished at?
View 11 RepliesFirst off, its a new battery and I checked my battery connections which are tight and clean. Sometimes it starts up and sometimes it gives me nothing and takes a few times before it will crank. For a few days before that started the clock was resetting sporadically... sometimes i would get in my car and start it and it would be fine - and sometimes i would start it and it would reset to 12:00. Today it started to die, twice when i was stopped at red lights it would completely just lost all power - but I was able to crank it right back up and it started right away.
Last year I had the clock resetting thing as well, it lasted over a month - then one day after a long trip I pulled into a gas station and the car just wouldn't crank up - the battery was dead and I bought a new one. So the battery I have in there isn't even a year old yet. Funny thing is I had that battery tested and the guy said it was good - now I wonder if it was my battery last time at all. Seems like its something electrical, something somewhere. The a/c goes on and off on it all the time, but that has happened for a few years now.
My brother installed a CD player in my car a while back and did something wrong. The interior lights don't work anymore, the clock on the dash resets to 1 o'clock when the car is shut off and the driven miles reset every time as well. I have checked all the fuses and they are good. Someone went in and looked at the wires behind the CD player and they didn't see anything wrong. What could cause this issue? (Subaru Outback 2000)
View 2 RepliesI recently replaced a dead battery in my Lexus RX 300, and have noticed something weird which I'm hoping to get an explanation for (and potentially fix).
When I turn off the engine, sometimes the battery itself seems to disconnect.When I try to turn on the car at this moment nothing happens. However, when I press the button which pops the hood in the car and then try to start the engine, everything turns on fine (and my clock resets).
My guess is that something is loose near the battery, but how to address this.
I just leased a 2013 ES 350 (love the car BTW):
Play a song via Bluetooth on your cell phone through the car audio, turn the car off, restart the car and the Bluetooth song gets reset to the beginning and does not resume.
In two rental cars I had previously, they both resumed from the point the song left off so I know this option is common out there. Perhaps this is because of the synchronization that occurs every time you connect the Bluetooth?
I have an 2000 lexus RX 300 AWD with an intermittent abs light and clock that will not keep the correct time, a bad ground? No codes.
View 4 RepliesEveryday when I start my car the time is 3-5 minutes behind. I reset it each time and I'm still having the same problem. I have a 2013 and it's the original battery if that might have anything to do with. I just tested the voltage and that's good.
View 6 RepliesWell this past week I have been getting the ESP light lit in my cluster during my weekly commutes. 1st: My car is a 2005 05 V8 model with 96K miles. The ESP light resets every time when the car is turned off and comes on after driving (varies), no hard CEL triggering with the condition. I notice yesterday that the ESP light comes on faster when I am coming up a hill. Yesterday when I started out on flat ground the light was off most of the trip (about 10 miles), it wasn't until I hit the hill on my way home that it illuminated (the final mile of my trip). One other major symptom, the Cruise Control does not "SET"; Cruise turns on and I see the indicator in the cluster, but when I hit the set function, it doesn't set the speed control. This happens both before and after the ESP light illuminates.
I have a VAD Pro and I ran a scan, both at the halt and on the move, the ESP light does NOT throw out a DTC in the ABS module or any others. However, their is one persistent fault that reoccurs (00526), faulty brake light switch; the Ross Tech site stated this is normal in some Automatic transmissions; if you do not push the brake pedal before the scan. My brake lights work fine & I understand their is two sets of contacts in the switch. Again, this DTC (00526) does not set the CEL. But, I am not ruling out a faulty brake light switch.

I have a 2006 Explorer XLT. Each time I drive it, the trip miles have been reset to zero, and the gas mileage re-starts at zero, and the truck seems to not run as smoothly as it does in the midst of a couple hundred mile trip.
If I stop for gas and take the key out and open the door, the ECM seems to reset itself back to factory defaults. It don't seem to store anything. It seems like there may be a blown fuse for memory storage or something similar, but I haven't found a blown fuse anywhere. It acts like it would if you remove the battery ground and touch it to the positive to reset the ECM.
Which fuse this may be and its location? Is there another possibility of failure?
Is it possible to turn off antenna when CD is on?

Headlights do not dim at all
No crank
This has happened three times now, about a month to six weeks apart. Eventually it starts exactly like normal. I can't put my finger on exactly what I did between "not crank" and "crank like normal" but it wasn't anything significant, that's for sure.
Tonight I cleaned the battery terminals, but they actually looked very good. Looking back, I should have checked how tight they were before taking the cable off, but I didn't. Not sure whether a loose cable could explain these symptoms.
I was thinking this was starter or solenoid? Any other diagnosis consistent with the symptoms?
Noticed that the clock speeds up all on its own. I will set it correctly and then within a weeks time it will be minutes faster.
View 14 RepliesWhen start my car and turn on the lights, its on for a few moments and they flicker, and then the driver side turns off. I toggle the switch off and on, and they fire right back up, but few moments later its off again. After about 10 minutes of doing that, they usually stay on, but once I make a quick stop (at store or bank for example) and turn off the headlights, the issue starts again and I usually cant get them to stay on after that unless I park the car for a few hours, and go through the 10 mins of screwing around with them again. Sometimes it will cause the passenger side to turn off as well, or sometimes even both!
I really need to fix this, along with my front parking lights in the bumper and the rear side bumper lights as well. I also have to take care of my license plate lights, which the harness does not even seem to be there behind the left lens, and the right one is missing.
I want to fix them, but if I take apart the fixtures, I want to polish the inside of the lens. and do any other mods at that time. I want to stick with the HID's, but maybe get some different bulbs for the low beam, that funky yellowish light that runs during the day, and the fog lights. I am not going to mess around with the LED's for a while. I had halogens in my last car that I had to update to HID to get good light, and these SC lights are even better since they are auto leveling, and turn with the car for the most part as well.
Does this sound like the bulbs? I heard of people online changing the bulbs and still having this issue. I thought it could be ballasts, but I am a newbie to the HID lighting so I am not sure. There are youtube vids up with this issue on the SC and ES models also I believe, so this is a known problem that pops up for everyone at one point during ownership.
I have a 2007 and I've just developed my first problem since I purchased the car new in 2007. While driving, my headlight(s) will turn off by themselves.
Sometimes it's the right one, sometimes it's the left one, and sometimes they will both stop working. Turning the headlight switch off and then on brings them back to life.
What part in the headlight system is causing this?
SC430 with 104k miles on it
Went to start her up today. As I began to turn it over--nearly immediately--I heard what can only be described as a thump followed by whirring. (I'd like to believe the thump was related but cannot be certain). Tried to start again, only very briefly, and all I could hear is that "whirring". It will not turn over and I'm hoping that neither attempt damaged anything.
If I had to guess, I'd say the timing belt snapped immediately as the starter was beginning to turn over the engine. Is there a relatively quick way to diagnosis this without potentially damaging the engine any further? An access port/hole or cover I can see through or remove to determine if the belt is snapped? What else could it be? Starter solenoid failure? That would certainly be easier to diagnose.
The clock on my wife's '06 2.0T changes one hour every time I get in it. Basically, it's either an hour fast or an hour slow every day.
