So the climate control on my 2002 430 is starting to loose sections of the numbers.
Not a bunch but I fear that it is just a matter of time before they all go away.
I assume, not being a LCD engineer, that there really isn't much that can be done to fix my existing LCD but I thought I would ask the group hoping for a resolution other than replacing the LCD.
The outside temperature has been cold since the purchase of my 07 SC almost 2 weeks ago (below freezing F ). The A/C green light has not been lit. My 05 SC, the light was on all the time. Dealer says the system will turn the A/C off in certain circumstances in very cold conditions.

View 9 RepliesThe back light on my wife's Nav and climate and radio do not work at night when the lights are on. During the day they work and at night if the lights are off they work. Did a search and could not find similar problems.
View 14 RepliesMy 2002 SC430 is driven 2 -3 times week and has 30K on it. January '08 I replaced run-flats with high-end non-RF Michelins sugg'd here. Ever since, tires have lost pressure. So far, I was told front pass. rim (orig. factory chrome) had a crack, that was fixed, but tire still loses pressure. Rear Driver's tire supposedly punctured at 2 weeks & replaced..but still loses pressure. All tires & wheels were checked & rotated, now 2 still leak in new positions.
According to Dealership & Tire place familiar with SC430's, my Valve stems and sensors are fine (TPMS works fine), tires are good, rims aren't cracked, but tires go soft. Yesterday a Tire place that does only Lexus & Toyota just told me "invisible corrosion" on rims makes moisture collect where tires seal to rims and this causes slow leak!?
I usually set my climate control to 78 degrees and leave it on Auto, but whenever I leave the car for more than 5 hours then the climate control somehow resets itself.
The "Auto" light would stay illuminated for about 15 seconds, then it turns off and "Air Conditioner Off" flashes on the Nav screen. Then when I press the "Auto" button again, the climate displays 75 degrees. This has happened everyday for the last 3 weeks or so.
Just picked up my 2015 IS 350 F Sport two days ago. Really got to take it out for the first extended drive today. The drivers side temperature controls seem to be increasing and decreasing on their own.
View 8 RepliesSeems like I'm having to crank the temperature up higher and higher (numerically) to avoid freezing myself out in the GX in the summer. Used to be ~72-74deg was a comfortable setting, regardless of outside temp. Now it seems like I'm running a 77-78deg setting on the climate control in order for things to feel right. Any lower and I just get frozen-out.
Oddly, if I have the rear AC on (if it's super hot outside, or if the kids are in the back) things are a bit more normal.
This may be operator error, but we have had trouble getting our new GX to blow warm air on cold days.
The fact that there are no real buttons to operate the climate control is kind of annoying. I set the temperature to high (like 80+ degrees)..but it will not do anything or adjust automatically. Even if I hit the fan buttons to increase the blower, this does not have an effect for about 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, it will start to work correctly and blow the warmer air. Our old 4runner V8 (basically the same car) was able to blow hot air almost instantly after start-up..I've never waited this long in any car.
I have a 2013 GX premium. Climate control overcompensate while trying to keep the cabin temp. I was driving with the heat on and suddenly really cold air started coming out of the vents to the point where I had to raise the temp to make it warm up. It seems like the air should be more gradually adjusted to keep the cabin temp constant.

View 3 RepliesI just bought a very nice Lexus 2007 with a extend warranty from Toyota. This car is a dream to drive but one problem I have encountered, how to fix is the Climate control feature.
Sometimes my unit works properly then it stops responding. The problem I'm having is that the climate control button when pressed wont stay on the control setting on the Nav screen and goes back to the radio station screen.
I also can't control the temp up or down on either driver or passenger side. The only way it works is by using voice commands. I can't turn it off at all. I m going to take to the dealer but they said they never heard so a thing. But I showed the dealer today and he said there is a problem.
I turned on the climate control this morning when I started the car and tried to change the temperature, then for some reason until the car was warmed up the climate control went to lo and seemed like it was locked there.
Once I the car got warmed up, the climate control worked was normal. It seemed like the increase/decrease controls were locked.
i have noticed ever since i got my 15 rx that on hot days when i get in, and start it up. there is a pretty long delay before the a/c starts blowing? kinda stinks when its hot out and the inside of the car is even hotter? all i know for sure is my 01, and 05`s used to come on almost instantly, so just curious if this is just the way its supposed to be on the 15.
View 8 RepliesYesterday all of a sudden the lights on the instrument panel started flashing and the RPM indicator started fluctuating . The RPM indicator would rev and bounce all over the place while the engine was. At a constant speed. Same thin happened before when the alternator went. Next the A/C sort of went and the NAV screen showed Air Condition Diagnosis with no options to change the climate control on the screen. When I got to the car I noticed the 110v ac button was on, not sure how long she had it engaged. I turned if the 110v button and unplugged the battery to reset the computer. All seems fine driving it for 20 miles now.
View 2 RepliesAfter 4 years and 75k miles the oem battery finally needed replacement. Pretty incredible since average battery life is no more than 3 years in the 20 years I've been in the desert. The battery was out of the car for about an hour, but as far as we can tell the only settings not retained were radio presets and climate control. My phone was still stored. the only issue we're experiencing is the climate control seems to not turn automatically on intermittently. Most of the time you go to the car and start it up, ac and fan kicks on and everything is on auto. Twice the car starts but the climate control is off...fan off, no ac.
View 3 RepliesI haven't been able to find the solution to change C temp readings to F on my 2009 ES350. The car is Canadian and I'm in the US and although it's not a big deal I'd like to change it over. The importation company already changed over the speedo and so the cluster reads F degrees and Miles. Just that one last change to make it all match up.
I read an old thread on the earlier generation that the body control module needs to be changed. But, nothing on this generation. Lots of people trying to go metric from English so maybe we could even trade parts to make it happen.
From time to time, climate control will stop working. Buttons are not lit up or responsive, fans do not work, and computer doesn't show outside temperature. Problem can last a day, an hour, 10 minutes, or any other time frame. Most of the time once it stops working it will not start working until left parked and locked overnight. Sometimes when we start driving it would all of a sudden start working on its own. This has happened during multiple seasons and multiple weather conditions.
I took the car to Lexus dealer who decided it would be a smart idea to replace the whole climate control unit in the dash, well this past weekend the problem occurred again with brand new climate control unit in place.
RX450h Climate Control ... This is annoying and all my riders complain about the A/C Auto mode on this car. Here is the issue in Auto Mode with the inside temp set at 72 degrees, and the outside temp is cold anywhere from 55 to 65 degrees the A/C always blows cold air into the car. I can never get heat to flow into the car. The manual says that auto controls the a/c flow, fan speed, and vents like auto in almost every car. What is wrong here? The A/C is always on blowing cold air regardless of the temperature set inside the car. To me it seems that the temperature setting for both passenger and driver do not work.
