I love my SC430, and want to keep it another ten years! BUT... I reclined the passenger seat this weekend, and now it won't go back up. Using the release lever, I can pull it up, but if you sit there or put any pressure on it, it falls right back down again to full reclining position.

VW Touareg 2007 V6 passenger electric seat problem....
We just got a new 2014.5 LE, but I noticed that front passenger seat in it doesn't recline flat when reclined backwards. We also have 2012 Camry hybrid, and the difference in seat reclining between them is 3/4". 2012 passenger seat reaches back seat when fully reclined, and 2014.5 does not, it has quite a large gap. Is my 2014.5 seat defective and needs to be fixed, or are all of them are made like this now? We had two 2006 Camrys before, and in both of them front passenger seats reclined fully, touching the back seat...
View 8 RepliesSo it seems as if either the switch in the driver's side seat belt indicator is sticking (off, indicating my seat belt is NOT fastened even though it is), or it's broken. Although, it doesn't do this EVERY time I fasten my seat belt, it's doing it more frequently. I have to refasten it (multiple times) to get it to see it's fastened.

View 4 RepliesMy problem is my seat will recline but will not go back up. Basically every time I hit the recline switch my seat is stuck a little further reclined. I am not sure if the problem is the switch, motor, control box ect. When I move the recline switch I hear the relay in the control box close. Nothing happens when I press forward. Very difficult seat to work on. I can't even sort out where the recline motor is. It seems to be in the seat back though and not under the seat but I am not sure and diagrams are unclear to me.

View 4 RepliesUnfortunately my car Heater A/C Control Panel LCD is broken, I mean only the screen. I accidentally hit the screen while I was pulling my guitar from the back seat .It shows many black lines that are almost covering the whole LCD!! everything is working fine except nothing can be seen on the screen.
I was told that I must buy the whole panel and it is really costly. I thought maybe I can replace only the screen? Is it possible? Or can I get any other car LCD and fix it into this panel??
2002 sc 430--interior door latch cable is broken at the ball. Is it possible to (purchase and) replace just the cable or is the cable integrated with the locking mechanism, requiring replacement of the whole unit. Also, need to get just cable and/or integrated cable/lock mechanism.
View 11 RepliesI folded down my rear seat the other day and it wouldn't unfold. I took it to Lexus and they wanted to replace a broken cable in the seat. I decided to do it myself. I found the parts I need on Sewell. The problem is that I am having a hard time getting access to the cables in the seat. How to get access to the cables in the seat or how to remove it so I can figure it out from there?
View 5 RepliesOn several other cars I've owned it was possible to link a key fob to seat memory. Meaning if my wife used her remote fob to open the car doors the seats and mirrors were set to her memory position etc.
I searched the owner manual and don't see this feature on our SC430.
I took my car to a mechanic the other day to get the spark plugs change. Then I notice when I turn my car on my seats starts to vibrate when in idle. Is this normal cuz the mechanic says this is normal and that every car vibrates just a little. I read some where it could be the mounts but someone on here told me they not because it doesn't shake my seats just vibrates if I seat there I can feel the seats vibrating on and off its not crazy bad vibrate. It's a minor vibration. I was hoping for no vibration what so ever like sitting in on my leather couch in my living room. Mine is a old model 2002.
View 3 RepliesMy power seat is stuck in the all-the-way-forward position. Seat has power to tilt and move up/down but will not move/slide back and forth. I am guessing there is a power cable that popped out when the seat was moved all the way forward.

I bought my 2004 SC 430 used in 2005. The seat belt "reminder" buzzer or ding was silent and I have left it that way. Now that I am a member of this forum (just joined mid February) and after having so many questions answered solving problems I have been living with (like a steering wheel squeal when it retracts to let me out of the car, and a knocking above and behind the back seat, which turned out to be the shell that goes over the top when it is down, and lots of other solutions to things I did not want to go to the dealer about) I decided it is time to see if I can reconnect the seat belt warning. So, might that be a fuse?,Or maybe some wire under the dash that has been unplugged?

I got the SC430 out of the driveway with a little bit of effort, but had a heck of a time trying to get it back up the driveway. It was getting stuck on the slightest bumps. As you can probably imagine, Michigan gets feet of snow, not just inches. I'm afraid if it gets stuck this easily, I won't be able to keep driving it this winter.
I'm going to try putting some sand bags in the trunk as it is my main car. But if that doesn't work, I am going to have to put her away for the winter and start driving my crappy 6-cyl 2.7L Hyundai for the winter (front wheel drive).
135 plus pound passenger with seat belt on. Was intermittent on/off with passenger but now seems always off (off light 'on' ) meaning the passenger airbag is disabled.
I know the es350 was so bad like this that there was a threat of class action. I've read the weight sensor is in the passenger seat rail and you can also do a calibration with a scan tool.
Trying to lower the seat or seat rails in an SC430. I would like to get the seats down about an inch. Can the seats be taken out and distance between the bottle of the rail and the seat shortened somehow.

1. the seat memory buttons stop working
2. the radio that hasn't worked in 8 months since i own the car is working
when the radio wasn't working, i tried to put in new fuses and that didn't work. but a dead battery did.
I've had a squeak, for lack of a better word, in the back seat near or rear window. I couldn't tell if it was the rear seat back or something else.
I began lowering the roof and stopped the process by turning off the ignition while the roof was just setting down in the trunk. This leaves the raised covers pointing up vertically to let the roof pass. (When the roof is up these covers form the rear "package shelf".) In the center of the car just under this cover there is a round black rubber bumper stop the size of a 50 cent piece (whatever those are). This stop is adjustable up-and-down. Rotating it counterclockwise raises the stop and clockwise lowers it. I raised my rubber stop, by hand, a couple of turns upward.
That's all. The squeak is gone. This bumper apparently bind the package shelf to the roof when it is up and stops if from moving around - and squeaking. I don't know the Lexus method for adjusting this bumper stop but a turn or two made a wonderful difference in my mood today.
