2 days ago my auto window down and top not working (top up and down), light on button for convert. Top not on when pressed. My question is does the auto window down would that make my top not operational? Because the same day my auto window down stop working, my top stop working the same day. Both of my window can still roll up/down when I hold the button up/down.
View 14 RepliesSo, driving home from the meet & greet in DC yesterday and when I turned on the headlights, the auto-leveling light came on. It randomly came and went for a bit but was on continuously by the time we got home. Headlights work and are at the correct height. Lights cycle up/down when the key is turned. Other than the warning light, it appears to be working normally.
Of note, this was the first time using the lights after the airbag actuator recall last week. Not sure how it could be connected unless it is a dash connection issue. If not,how to isolate if or which sensor is causing the issue?
My passenger side window won't roll down. Everything else on the door works including the mirror. Guessing the motor, is there a way to check it?
View 1 RepliesAt the 150K mile mark electromechanical components are starting to fail (Nav DVD reader, CD changer, 2 starters (they seem good for only ~70K miles), brake switch, etc.) which is probably reasonable to expect, even in a non-humid climate. Recently, the controls for the passenger side window stopped working. Some details:
- Driver's side window control works to control driver's side window
- Passenger side window switch LEDs are not lit on either door
- Passenger side window rolls up and down when top is changed to up or down position
Given that the motor is proven good by the fact that the window goes up and down with no problems when the top's position is changed, I'm inclined to think that there is probably an issue with the "COMPUTER MPX DOOR" component in the passenger door.
Any fix for the driver side window rolling up slower than the passenger side. Sounds like the motor is having a harder time moving it. I can hear the motor straining. Looking for info about successfully lubricate the regulator and fix this? I'd like not to have to replace the motor.
View 4 RepliesI just tried to lower my passenger window, and it was completely dead. Driver's side works fine. Tried both the switch on driver's side and passenger side. Neither worked to lower passenger window.
Popped the hood and swapped out Pass & Driver's fuses. Pass side fuse is ok - ran the Driver's side ok.
Dropped the top and both windows ran down and back up ok. I'm guessing connection in driver's door(?). Maybe that switch for passenger window is bad?
I guess the roof needs adjustment since my driver side door won't close if the window is up all the way.
Checked the roof and found there is a larger gap on the passenger side than on the driver side. That causes the unevenness of the roof, I think.
I've had a squeak, for lack of a better word, in the back seat near or rear window. I couldn't tell if it was the rear seat back or something else.
I began lowering the roof and stopped the process by turning off the ignition while the roof was just setting down in the trunk. This leaves the raised covers pointing up vertically to let the roof pass. (When the roof is up these covers form the rear "package shelf".) In the center of the car just under this cover there is a round black rubber bumper stop the size of a 50 cent piece (whatever those are). This stop is adjustable up-and-down. Rotating it counterclockwise raises the stop and clockwise lowers it. I raised my rubber stop, by hand, a couple of turns upward.
That's all. The squeak is gone. This bumper apparently bind the package shelf to the roof when it is up and stops if from moving around - and squeaking. I don't know the Lexus method for adjusting this bumper stop but a turn or two made a wonderful difference in my mood today.
When you close the door and the window is down, the window glass sounding like it is rattling when the door shuts? I am wondering if that is normal for 430's or if there is something missing or broken in my doors. (They both do it)
I don't really notice it while driving but it makes my skin crawl every time I shut the doors. No sound as long as the windows are up.
So after 6 1/2 years, my original Panasonic battery died today morning. I used jump start to get to work and used the same method to take the car to Sears to replace with Diehard Platinum.
While driving back, after the battery replacement, I noticed that I couldn't use auto power window roll up or down on driver side (manual roll up/down worked). Other three windows won't even work. I checked the windows lock button and it wasn't in lock position.
I turned the ignition power off and turned on to ACC. Then I could able to roll driver side windows up/down in auto. However, other three windows remain nonoperational. I also noticed a small green light on the window is illuminated only for driver side.
I have 2002 sc430 that i purchase new. I now have a rattle from roof on driver side back behind my head above the little window....
View 10 RepliesHave problems getting window tinted? Just got my RC 350 and i took it to one of the most referred places in town for tints. (small town)
Anyways, they are having trouble with the drivers side window bc that little autoroll down feature when you open the door keeps on messing up the bottom edge of the tint. I've already taken it back to the shop for them to fix it and now I have to take it back on Monday to get it fixed again.
Any way to disable this auto roll down feature on the rc 350?
I bought my car in 2012. Lets say I have my air on completely custom settings (temp, fan speed, mode). When I press the Auto button the fan speed automatically adjusts based on the temperature I have set, the mode always forces to feet only (sometimes feet and defroster) and the A/C light always comes on.
The only way to keep it in Auto mode while turning the A/C button off is to do the following: Press the Auto button, then press the A/C button to turn it off.
I am just trying to figure out the logic behind why Toyota would force the A/C light every single time the Auto button is pressed, even when it is 5 degrees outside.
So am I correct in turning the A/C light off when in Auto mode and using heat only or does the A/C light come on for a reason? Is it actually running the A/C compressor even in the winter?
Last Saturday it worked because i left all 4 windows down while driving. On Sunday I drove in the rain, so all my windows were up. The next day on a clear day I put my windows down and noticed the left rear window won't go down but I can hear the normal 'shoosh' sound like the motor works but it won't slide down. I put my hand against the window to push down and it went down (because I had already push the button down so it allowed the window to be opened) When I pushed the button up to go up, it goes up.
To make sure my window can't be slided down with hand by carjackers, I first tried by using my hand to slide down, it won't go down. So it seems like the motor works. When I pressed the bottom to go up, it goes up but it won't go down when pressed down.
Car year is 1999....
When I do double press on the driver window button it won't work as is to make it close or open automatically. The car is 2015 still brand new...
View 2 RepliesThe one thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to get the automatic window roll down with the FOB with the Vag commander software. I've done some cool stuff with the cable so far but this is the only thing I cant figure out.
The cable is not compatible with the Rostech software that handles the b6 and no I don't want to buy a rosstech cable.
The drivers auto window will not work, found several ways to try to reset but nothing works. Drivers switch is flashing , if I push the switch down wether all the way or half way window works manually . When I pull on the switch half way up window doesn't work, pull all the way up it works manually. No auto window at all .

View 5 Replies2006 Sonata. I had to remount the drivers window glass which had slipped out of the clamps and fell inside the door.
Afterwards, if using the window auto-up feature, the window reaches the top and reverse back down to about the one-third closed point. Using the normal (non-auto up) it remains properly closed at the top.
My first thought was it needed to be reset by the well documented hold the switch up for at least .2 seconds method. I've done that and it hasn't solved the issue.
There doesn't appear to be any unusual resistance to movement which might activate any 'arm in the window' type safety feature. (if it even exists)
I would also expect that type of thing to work regardless if using auto-up or not anyways.
It was just pointed out to to me by a passenger yesterday that the auto up/down on the passenger side switch isn't working. I can do it when controlling from the driver side though. On the first click on the pass side nothing happens. Window only goes up/down on the second click position. I had speakers installed about a month ago but Im not sure if it's related. Do I need to take the door panel off to inspect the switch? What it could be?
View 5 RepliesWhen I first got my GTI this was a problem maybe every could weeks or so. The driver's side auto up/down will randomly stop working almost every day now. I do the reset by holding the button down for 5 seconds when the window is down and then holding it up for 5 seconds when it's up. It then functions as it should and malfunctions a day or so later. I have a VAG-COM, not sure if that can reset something in the module? Not sure if it could also be the switch itself? I COULD go to the dealer but last time they just did the reset procedure and sent me on my way.
