So my sc430 keeps giving me trouble and all the lights come on while i am driving and then it shuts off on me. I could be wrong but i think it has something to do with a iphone connection that i have. I originally thought it was the battery so i replaced that and it was running fine for a day with no issues. Then today shortly after i tried to use the iphone connector the same thing happened.
View 1 RepliesIts not super cold but in Tampa ever since I installed my headers and its 60 or below i've gotten the VSC and ABS lights on in the dash after driving a little bit. Typically this is a cold morning type thing.
I reset the lights and it went away for a few days (it also got 30 degrees warmer) once it got down to 55 the lights came back on. Parked the car went in to work and when I drove home the lights were off (without re-setting the lights).
I know the codes can mean different things. The car is driving the same as always too- I have PPE headers, Ingen Intake, and a muffler delete.
I bought a 2002 SC430 about 6 months ago. The car has been flawless, until today. Twenty minutes into the drive while on the freeway at 75 mph the speedometer went to 0 and the ABS and Brake warning lights came on. The car and brakes seemed fine, I returned home. In the driveway I turned the car off and then restarted, all was good. No warning lights, and the speedometer worked on a drive down the street.

View 13 RepliesWhats going on with my 2002 SC430. Every time someone (valet) puts the key in the door to unlock it, the car completely shuts down. The remote won't work. The only way to get it going again is to have the door popped open. This sets off the alarm but once the key is in the ignition and started, it's all good. What is going on and how to correct this?
View 10 RepliesWhen you close the door and the window is down, the window glass sounding like it is rattling when the door shuts? I am wondering if that is normal for 430's or if there is something missing or broken in my doors. (They both do it)
I don't really notice it while driving but it makes my skin crawl every time I shut the doors. No sound as long as the windows are up.
My wife's 2006 Honda CR-V has developed a mysterious issue where every minutes, and I mean to the second every 15 minutes, the car behaves as if the ignition switch was turned to the OFF position shutting off the engine. After about 10 seconds, the dashboard light blink as if the key has been turned to the ON and then we can start it. If we try to start it before the dash lights blink, the starter turns but nothing else happens. The immoblizer has been inspected and ruled out and, there are no error codes in the computer.
View 6 RepliesMy 1990 Toyota Corolla which I hate to retire has only 64,000 miles on it. Starts and runs but while I am driving the dash lights up and the engine shuts off and won't restart. He thinks it is the NEC (?) switch but he said he is not really sure. Spending all that money and then finding out it is not fixed would not be worth it. It also is dangerous what if I am on the expressway?
View 19 RepliesI was driving my Sonata this morning to work as usual. It was a wet morning but not raining. I hit a pothole (which I've hit before) going 35-40 mph. About 1-2 minutes later I was driving about 30-35 mph when I heard a click, lost power and then everything came back on. I believe during this "power loss" that I couldn't accelerate since I remember the rpm going down but I know that I took my foot off of the accelerator when this happened. I kept driving to work and about 2-3 minutes later while coasting down a hill at 35-45 mph. It happened really fast twice in a row.
Each time there was a click, the lights would dim or shut off completely (not sure since it happens so fast), the check engine light would flash, and I believe the radio turned off. Since it happened so fast (click, shut off, and back on) I didn't get to see if I could keep driving (accelerate) or if power steering was gone. I am guessing that they would be gone with my limited knowledge of what I was experiencing. I was able to drive 8 minutes to work without it happening again. I popped the hood looking for a loose connection around the battery but nothing was popping out at me. My car has 117,000 miles and has regular maintenance done. Any ways I could diagnose it further? Can O'reilleys check the code that flashed on and off if it isn't on anymore?
I just returned after leaving LS 460 in garage for 5 months. Car & a/c start up fine but after 5 minutes of driving the a/c shuts down & can not be re-started until I shut off the engine. I re-start the car and again after about 5 minutes, the a/c shuts down. All a/c panel lights are off except "outside temperature". In the dashboard console where the outside temperature is normally displayed there is an "E" displayed instead. The coolant fluid level is fine.

I have them all working except for the lights on the turn signal lever, the windshield wiper lever, the cruse control and the steering wheel. So all the light on the steering column are out. I cannot find a bad fuse. Which fuse it might be, or some other items to check?

Over the weekend I had multiple P0051 and VSC and VSC Off Lights CELs
I have reset them using my OBDII scanner. It keeps on coming back.
This means the BANK 2 SENSOR 1 (just before the CAT) is reading low temps and therefore throwing a code. I get this.
Question is why do the VSC lights go "ON" too?
This started when I installed my ScanGage e this weekend. This is a change point.
Before I go purchase a Denso sensor, I would like to perform a series of tests:
1.Remove the ScanGage e. Test drive if any of the CELs (P0051 and VSC) come back.
2.If the same set comes back, clear the VSC lights code using our home made device.
If the VSC lights disappear and the P0051 comes back, I will replace the BANK 2 SENSOR 1 Oxygen sensor. Prior to replacing, I will check for wiring issues on this sensor.
I have just noticed my emergency lights do not work. Where the fuse is located. I tried looking everywhere. Before I unplug each one and see which is bad I wanted to get some info...

And they said that they need to replace my vacuum hoses cause it busted ... well when I saw the guy used the obd checker thing.. after checking the codes.. i saw that when u turned on the engine.. the vsc on and vcs off lights came on..
So I figured after he fixed the problem.. it will go off.. well after he got done.. fixing the problem.. I drove away.. after bout like 2min.. i had to turn around cause the vsc on and vsc off came on.. and I told the guy to check.. And he used his checker.. and there was no problem.. and the "check engine" light is not on anymore.. just the vsc on and vsc off!!
Could the checker.. messed it up??? the vsc off button.. only works when the key is turned on.. " not when the engine started but right before it.. when the power comes on" so the button is working correctly.. it just comes on.. when i start driving the car...
And no they did not check my tire pressure or do anything to the tires or the wheels.. it just turned on.. when he inserted the obd thing to check..

I just got this used sc430 I always wanted one but never got the chance to though, the car I got is American spec and I Hove few problems with it.
1- fog lights are always on
2- my mileage gage does not work but the rim is working effectively
3- ABS light always on
4- brake lights always on
5- Air bag lights always on
6- side rear viewing mirrors control not working
7- windows auto option is not working, other wise I can use them normal.
Note I took the car to garage and once connected to the computer, the computer was not able to connect as per as the mechanic if it makes any sense.
I love my car unfortunately I don't know much.
2002 SC430, 150,950 miles.
Had new front brake pads, re-surfaced rotors, new windshield fluid level sensor installed, 4 x wheels balanced and rotated on 8/11 at Lexus Dealer. Picked it up 8/13, drove 30 miles and it sat 8/14-8/16. Drove to work on 8/17, and on the 18 mile freeway trip home yesterday, the Brake and ABS dash lights came on as I was making a gradual left turn with damp roads.
Thought nothing of it initially, thought my knee had hit the e-brake as mine is very touchy and as long as you pull the release, the light goes away. Not this time. The Brake and ABS lights were on for 4 minutes, then eventually the VSC and VSC OFF dash lights also came on. Steering became difficult, checked brake fluid (ok), checked power steering fluid (ok). No leaks underneath, all fluid levels were just checked on 8/11 and were fine/topped off.
Parked it, set up an appointment and just dropped it off this AM. I've read brake booster, speed sensor, alternator, skid control unit .
I am hoping it's just the alternator, which makes sense with the difficult steering and the lights going on one by one. If the alternator isn't outputting enough volts, those lights will trip. I've had all O2 sensors recently replaced, other standard preventative maintenance done (timing belt, thermo, etc). I'm just hoping it's something manageable and not something that makes me wonder if the repair is worth it (vs the value of the car)...
There are no CEL lights, just the above (no codes to my knowledge).
I have a 2007 and I've just developed my first problem since I purchased the car new in 2007. While driving, my headlight(s) will turn off by themselves.
Sometimes it's the right one, sometimes it's the left one, and sometimes they will both stop working. Turning the headlight switch off and then on brings them back to life.
What part in the headlight system is causing this?
About every 10 to 20 minutes while driving I hear 5 or six intermittent beeps. No warning lights or anything, just the beeps. What is it? I have a 2002 SC430.
View 7 RepliesI had a issue today and it made me scared to drive the SC ever again. While I was driving this light came on that kept blinking and making a beeping noises, after a while of blinking (approximately 30 seconds) the steering wheel jerked to the left and right really fast, luckily there was no car around me. I immediately pulled over to the shoulder. After a couple minutes I drove home on the service road without incident. Why this happened.
