I am enamored of the Mercedes SL panorama roof. We all purchased convertibles to let the sun shine in so it seems sad that on those rainy days or snowy days-20 + inches is too much, to not be able to let the light in. Is there any way to add a glass panel to the removable roof? I would even consider putting it longitudinally like the new Nisan Maxima.

View 7 RepliesWhen you close the door and the window is down, the window glass sounding like it is rattling when the door shuts? I am wondering if that is normal for 430's or if there is something missing or broken in my doors. (They both do it)
I don't really notice it while driving but it makes my skin crawl every time I shut the doors. No sound as long as the windows are up.

I am looking for info on how to remove the sunroof/ dome light panel, I removed the two screws in the sun glasses holder so the front is released but the back seems solid. I removed the bezel around the garage door opener buttons, hoping to find more screws but no. Is it held by clips or is there something I'm missing?
View 3 RepliesUnfortunately my car Heater A/C Control Panel LCD is broken, I mean only the screen. I accidentally hit the screen while I was pulling my guitar from the back seat .It shows many black lines that are almost covering the whole LCD!! everything is working fine except nothing can be seen on the screen.
I was told that I must buy the whole panel and it is really costly. I thought maybe I can replace only the screen? Is it possible? Or can I get any other car LCD and fix it into this panel??
My '03 driver's side door has been opened enough, and unfortunately with force when it catches a wind gust or opens downhill, etc, that it's actually resulted in a lengthening crack in the middle of the inside door panel. There are two hinges that are fine, which actually keep the door attached to the car frame.
In between, on the higher side of the inside of the door, there's a 'stopper' bolted to the door, with a bracket 'inside' the door. That's where the force of the door opening is applied to the door itself, and where the crack has appeared. It's already a good 4-6 inches long, and presumably will keep going.
In my head, the options seem to be:
-wait for the stopper to fully rip a piece of the door off, at which point the door will open all the way into the car itself.
-attempt a small scale weld 'in place' with a small overlay strip across the crack.
-pull the door all the way apart to where the welder felt more comfortable doing a solid repair job.
-find a replacement door altogether.
I was driving and instrument panel flickered on and off a couple of times then stayed off. Also now battery, about 1 year old, doesn't stay charged. Would it be short in wiring? Or what?
View 9 RepliesDriving on the highway Christmas eve, oddly heard the wind noise and made sure the windows were up, checked the sunroof and no glass.
Didn't notice the glass had blew off, no noise of any kind except the wind noise.
The sunroof was installed by Toyota / came with the car, bought it brand new.
My instrument panel glass stays fogged up for weeks after a rain. Shouldn't the dealer fix this with after only 14 months and under 3,000 miles ?
View 1 RepliesGen3 2010, 15 months on the road, 62 000 km. While washing the car today I noticed that the rubber edge bonded to the sunroof glass is buckling/rippling/tearing. Cosmetic only, as far as I can tell - damage/wear doesn't permeate far enough down to cause a problem, I don't think.

I have had my tiguan 1 month.. bought preowned and it creaks where appears to be the meeting point to the sunroof/back glass when closed.
VW doesn't seem to care as its a rattle, but there must be something i can do. Which areas do people lubricate? and if it is indeed metal/metal rattling at the meet point, how to adjust this? I tried letting the sunroof reset itself but to no improvement.
Thinking about adding some led lighting on a switch to my 2013 elantra gt. I've noticed that on the left of the drivers console there are 4 blank plates on the switch panel next to the eco and dimmer switches.
I took apart the dash to see if I could just pop one out and add a rocker switch of some sort only to realized that the switch panel is all one assembly with a circuit board inside. Added a switch to their 2013+ elantra?
I have a 98 gp gt. I have no power going to the radio, sunroof, steering wheel controls, or power windows in the fuse panel I have virtually ripped this car apart and still no clue why I'm not getting power.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2015 3IS which has about 5,000kms on it. Was wondering if any of you experience rattles/squeaks from driver's door glass when closed? Usually comes out on uneven roads or after going through a road where the chassis/body gets twisted a bit. I live in the mountains so the roads here are really twisty and has all those weird angles.

View 3 RepliesMy 2007 ES UL has started to peel at the edge of the glass of the rear roof panel. It was originally just at the rear corner and I assumed it must have been scratched and the due to dryness started to peel. Then I noticed it at the other rear corner. I asked them to look at it at the dealer and the service advisor told me it was from the UV rays which dried it out, and not to worry about it. I bought and applied einszett gummi pflege stift to those corners and all seemed well.
Now that it got colder here in NY the corners again began to pop up but today I see it's started to pop out very much in the middle of the panel which seemed fine before!! The SA had told me that this (gasket, molding) comes attached to the roof and to fix it I'd have to replace the panel! I'm scared my UL is sick of the panoramic roof just for show and wants to be able to open.
How to install the rear door glass chrome molding? Do I need any special instructions?
View 14 RepliesHaving issue with a moon roof rattle in the up position, sounds as if the glass is loose. If I slightly close the rattle stops. Not sure if I want lexus taking apart the moon roof/ head liner to repair. I may just live with it, but would like to get it looked at. 2011 LS 460 sport.
View 8 RepliesI am interested in a 2004 and wanted to know if I add the curt hitch .. Or maybe oem one Has the curves cover and not notched or flat does that mean it should be made after 5/2004 and could use the hitch that is tubular? Not sure if the curt version matter for any of these
Also I heard they may be prewired for towing, how to look for besides the trans cooler, if they don't have this then it seems too much work.. and I should stay away?
Also doesn't have nav, so I wanted to know if it is harder to add aftermarket screen to non nav than one with factory nav?
It seems like this is a base trim do you know in 2004 what feature might be missing from this base model That I am "missing out" on?
Found a pic of the actual car under bumper built 9/04 Does it look normal. I think I see the towing wiring box there.. was the hitch port installed option? But it looks like it's ready for one.
Since then I have added some refrigerant, changed the Magnetic Clutch Relay. Fan kicks on only for a few seconds and then goes off. Pressure shows that it might be a little high on refrigerant. Could this be so that it would not allow the fan to turn on and stay on. when I let some refrigerant out it seems that it will kick on and stay on. I have not let any more out because to me this really does not make sense to me, hence why I am asking some more questions.
