The surface of all four of my alloy wheels on my 2010 RX 350 are peeling. Why?

View 5 RepliesMy 2016 Camry SE Special Edition has 300 miles on its odometer now, and I just noticed the front right wheel has two spots where the alloy wheel has a plastic film that appears to be peeling back.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2009 Matrix and the beginnings of corrosion is beginning to show on the alloy wheels. How to protect it against further corrosion? Any particular wax or product to overcome the situation?
View 1 RepliesI noticed a glare on the metal surface at the top of the dash in front of the Nav Screen. I have fabricated a cover out of "vinyl" from the fabric shop. I stuck it down with a few double backed tape patches.
View 14 RepliesMy 2012 RX350 now for over a year and like it a lot.........BUT.
There's seems to be a lot "road noise" that's transmitted back into the cabin, like driving over expansion joints on blacktop or rough road surface, is this normal?
I drove a 2000 RX300 for 100,000 miles and don't remember it being this noisy. Interior noise is great and quiet.
Just wondering if there is any difference between the RX350 and RX450h wheels. Given that the RX450h is a hybrid, the wheels should be lighter for better fuel performance.
View 1 RepliesI have 2011 RX AWD and noticed when driving downhill and braking, car will shake. It feels like the wheels are shaking but the steering wheel does not. Is it rotors or something else?
Also RX is certified pre owned warranty for another 30k miles and I want to do alignment on it but not sure if warranty will cover that ?
I know the RX350 isn't a real SUV designed to go off-road, but after the recent blizzard on the East Coast I am really disappointed by the AWD in this car. My driveway is plowed by a truck so it is very clean, but the city plow leaves maybe a small 5 inch high pile that about 1 feet across after it goes by. My RX350 couldn't through that the front wheels just kept spinning. I tried snow mode and even push the 4 Lock which I think does nothing. The back wheel didn't even spin once it seemed like I was driving a FWD car.
Our older RX330 a 2004 model got stuck also, but when we jabbed the gas after a few seconds the car made this weird screeching sound and you could see the back wheels spin as it climbed the driveway no problem albeit slowly. Its a bit disappointing to see an older RX has better AWD then the newer models. I mean the back wheels didn't even spin on my 2010 the front wheels just spun. I tried turn traction control off, 4 lock, and snow mode no luck. Also when going up the 2010 kept sliding sideways on my 04 the steering felt washy, but at least it was sliding off the driveway.
I also had A6 before this and it has never gotten stuck and its a lower car so its not like a drive my car through snow bank. We ended driving the older RX everywhere this weekend as the 2010 is not very assuring when it snows.
I have a 2008 toyora prius with 75423mi on it, was purchased with 70000mi two or three months ago. I have had no problems with this vehicle until recently. Being a prius newbie, I decided to ask here. When sitting parked on a slight slope earlier with the car running, radio running, and phone plugged in for an extended amount of time, I received an error on my display stating smething along the lines of "there is an abnormality with the p transmission mechanism, please part the car on a flat surface and engage the parking break completely" paired with a red triangle on the dash. I immediately moved the car to flat ground and engaged the parking break. The car turns one, shifts fine, and acts just as normal as prior. Is there anything I should be worried about? The car is still under toyota warrenty and is due an oil change now. Any clue what the cause of this was and if it will be reoccuring?
View 13 RepliesNew owner of a GX 460. Noticed that when driving in the parking garage and turning around the corners, the wheels make screeching noise. the GX 460 is not a very big SUV but it feels like i'm driving a huge truck when trying to turn.
And also need confirmation that during normal driving, the central differential should be disconnected, which means a yellow icon showing on the dial, i.e., a yellow icon that shows a cross in between the four wheels.
I'm occasionally having a scary issue with my '13 RC450h. There are a couple of parking lots where the transition from the parking lot to the road is not particularly smooth and the speed of the other cars on the road require that you get up to 50mph pretty quickly.
When I hit the gas then hit the bumps in the transition, the TRAC light turns on and power to the wheels is lost for a couple of seconds (exactly the opposite of what I want to happen). Is this happening to other people or is this something that needs to be looked at? Is this just a result of traction control and I need to remember to turn it off when leaving a parking lot and entering a busy road?
I have a 2011 Toyota Prius with an oddity in the braking system. When I brake while going over a rough surface, like a manhole cover or rumble strips, it feels as though the brakes let go. It's really disconcerting, but this has never been picked up during an inspection. I will bring it to the Toyota Service department, but am leery of being overcharged for something.
View 4 RepliesI have had my 2010 Prius for 6 months and have noticed that when I'm braking over an uneven surface my car seems to speed up. It's a very uncomfortable feeling. Is this a characteristic of regen braking or is there something wrong?
View 10 RepliesI just drive my 2011 new Prius class 5 off the lot, and I notice the front driver side or front tire make a lot of noise. Also I turn a low speed I can hear that noise. It sound like a shock noise sometimes and it sound like tire driving on bad surface noise. Pretty much I can hear it all the time the noise is very annoying because my wheel, tire, car is brand new with 49 miles.
I'm asking Prius owner with 17 alloy wheel, do you have the same problem? Or the 15 inch wheel? I test drive the 15 and it was sort of bad but the 17 alloy make a lot of noise. I being to dealer they say it normal because of the big wheel and small tire. The bs to me, on the phone they say they will give me a same car to compare but when I got there there no Model for me to drive.
Bought the wife's 2013 Elantra GL in March, it is North American built, and has only 4500 kms on it. Last week we noticed a couple cracks in the paint and it looks like the paint it wrinkling and therefore opening up at the crack. Both cracks are located in the exact same position on either side of the car, and the exact same. They are on the plastic bumper cover, where the bumper meets the quarter panel and tailight. Since the paint has migrated back, you can clearly see the black plastic underneath. Sent a text message to my service rep and he said it should be no problem to get it covered under warranty. Now, just need to make the time to get the car into the dealer...

Just bought a 2010 Hertz GenIII w/44,000mi. Wife had trouble starting it twice with weird messages like place car on flat surface to orange triangle. I hear it may be a weak battery???
View 3 RepliesWondered if others have had a problem with spots of paint peeling off front bumper? Bought car new and have 42,000 miles, rest of paint is in great shape. It is not terrible, but like keeping car nice, would be nice if covered under warranty. Been this way for awhile, maybe should have taken it in, haven't even mentioned it to Hyundai.
View 5 RepliesMy side panel on my 06 GS is peeling.
View 14 RepliesMy front bumper has its paint peeling off very fast, I could get whole bumper painted but is there anything that I can do at home ...
Attaching pictures ...
It's coming off on all 4 wheels and its OEM original paint. I can see other areas where the paint has cracked and starting to lift as well. These Lexus wheel paint really suck... My Volvo alloys are 18 years old and still do not have peeling issues like this!!
View 7 RepliesI just noticed this happening recently. My passenger side mirror looks like it is peeling. The part that "peeled off", no longer auto dims, while the 90% of the mirror still has dimming. But it looks ugly as heck.
