2014 RX 450h. So I drove the car for the first time today and am wondering why the reflection in the Rear View Mirror is so dark? I did finally find the buttons for the Anti-Glare function on the far right and didn't notice a difference in the daylight.

View 3 RepliesI bought a used 2010 model and here's a pic of my rearview mirror. Please note the base of the mirror assembly and the location where it's attached to the windshield. Seems kinda low to me. Can other 2010 owners chime in if your mirror is attached at the same spot (or not)?
View 5 RepliesSo I was just looking at my rear view mirror and noticed that it has the Celsius and Farenhite symbols where the compass is. Is there a way to display the temperature on the mirror? (I know it's right next to the clock already). I also found it interesting that if you hold the compass button down, the letters will turn into numbers for some reason.
View 2 Replies2010 Prius: During my first visit to dealership at 5000 mile service I told them to see what's wrong with my driver side rear view mirror why it is shaky. (It only shakes / vibrates left right NOT up down, and depending on the wind, road bumps have no affect) Obviously they could not duplicate it.
I called Toyota and Dealer wanted me to test-drive with a technician and show him the problem, which I did and technician agreed that there is a lot of wind induced shaking at the same time passenger side mirror is rock solid. They replaced the mirror with another mirror.
Now here is the problem, new one is also shaking. I am from SF Bay Area driving on 80, 780 and 680 near Fairfield (mostly windy)...
I noticed the other day that when i shift to R... the left and right rear view mirror pan out about 5 degrees in their respective direction. Normally when you shift to reverse the mirrors should tilt down. I have looked through all the settings and cannot find any customization options. How you can adjust the rear view mirrors to tilt down? I do not understand why they would pan out as it does nothing to assist you as you reverse.

Gen 3 2011, rear view mirror grarage door opener light has a constant dim blink. The second light which indicates reflective repression will not turn on or off. That light should be on at night all the time.

View 4 RepliesAny pointers on tapping the rear view mirror to power a dash cam (or a radar detector) in a 2013 LS? I want to avoid running the wires all around to the power plug. As much as a read, prior to 2013 have a little plastic thingy on a mirror that slides out, which makes it easier - the 2013 is all enclosed.

How to turn off the auto-dimmer on the rear view mirror?
The rear view mirror (inside) has black skid marks, lines, and dots and other crap under the mirror surface. It doesn't hinder visibility yet, but I wonder if there will be a recall in the future. Mirrors should have crystal clear visibility.

My first gen IS's mirror didn't vibrate at all so I'm pretty unhappy being a 44k car's mirror vibrates. I took it to the dealership and they just tightened the bolt but it didn't do anything. Then they justified it saying that all the IS's in the lot did this. After the checkup the mirror got worse and vibrates on rough pavement now. I was just wondering if your guys' mirrors vibrate when listening to music?
View 1 RepliesIn my 2002 SC430: The interior rear view mirror has an indicator which does not light up when I press the auto button. It does not auto dim at night either. My headlights auto on/off so that daylight sensor works. Ive checked the mirror fuse but not sure if there's anything else causing this. Do these mirrors go bad, or has mine been broken ? What items do I check and or test to diagnose and repair the mirror?
View 2 RepliesAfter a rough winter here in NJ there are a ton of pot holes and I think I may have jolted loose the rear view mirror. It now shakes so bad I can't even look at it. It makes me dizzy. It seems like it is loose where it connects to the windshield, not where the actual mirror connects. I took off the smaller of the two covers but didn't see anything I could tighten. It also doesn't appear that the actual mirror comes apart. I have to point it away from me at night, it's like a strobe light!
View 4 RepliesI have a new 2015 RX 350 and the side view mirror quit folding when I turn off the car. The auto light is turned on. It will work when I utilize the manual switch and it will open when I use the auto switch, but it won't close when I park the car and shut it off. Is there something I'm doing wrong or some other item I need to set?
View 2 RepliesWe were following an RX350 the other night, it was a later model as the rear wiper was hidden, and I noticed it had turn signal lights at the outboard edge of the side view mirrors. Is this a 2015 thing or something we missed on the 2014?
Might not be enough to trade up for but something I hope continues into the Gen 4 models as it is a feature I like.
I noticed when I got my CPO 2013 GS350 that the rear view mirror has some "give" - it feels a little loosely attached to the windshield and there is some play before the adjustment actually starts to engage. It also rattles sometimes with road vibration as a result. Is this the usual for GS350 or has mine come loose?
I noticed when I got an ES loaner vehicle that the mirror was firmly attached to the windshield.
Mine is quite dark and like, foggy? Is this typical or is it a problem ?
View 12 RepliesThis last week, I bought a Prius C 4, love everything about it but... the front windshield reflection. The reflection of the dashboard during daytime makes the view somewhat cloudy, at night the reflection at night appears to be like a shroud over most of the windshield. So much so that the peripheral vision is almost nil. I think this can be dangerous as demonstrated by almost hitting 2 deer on my first drive home! I've ordered a dashmat cover and await its delivery. Hopefully this will alleviate the problem, if not my dealer will be getting the car back until this problem is resolved. Dimming the dashboard light has no effect.
View 6 RepliesI'm not sure if this is a problem others have experienced here but for the last few months my rear view mirror angle would drop down and every morning when i got in the car i would need to readjust. I then thought that like every other moving part of the P that needs adapting that maybe the same applies to the mirror so i moved it to it's highest then lowest points, moved the seat all the way back, got out, locked the car, unlocked it, the seat and mirror had returned to the position stored in the memory and for the last month the mirror has not moved so I'm thinking that this has solved the problem.
