How do I remove the trim inside the lift gate? I saw two screws and removed them, but it's still being held in place. Is it near the indented handes? There seems to be little square plastic screw covers in there. I couldn't remove them (I was on the road) and didn't want to hack them if they weren't.
I am very puzzled with my new 2015 Lexus RX 350 , I parked my car at the gas station and suddenly noticed that I dont have my key on me and couldnt find it inside the car anywhere. I thought I dropped it somewhere outside but to my surprise when I tried starting my car it started fine assuming the key was some where close by.
I tried stepping out and to lock the car and got a message the key is inside the vehicle so car wont lock. I was able to start the car and drive it home about an hour drive car never complained about key not detected message. I called the dealership and they told me car will keep running if you drop the key outside while the car is running but after 15 mins of driving it will give a message key not detected.
I am locking the car now using the second remote but its risky to have the car in such a condition as any one can drive it away if they open the lock somehow. I have looked every where under the seat, in between the centre console and seat, under the seats key no where to be found. Could it be possible that key was dropped outside and the car is malfunctioning that its allowing me to start it and drive it without complaining.
I have a 2011 RX350 and recently noticed rattling sound coming from inside the glove compartment.
I think it comes from the plastic cover of the aircon filter at the back of the glove compartment. This cover seems bit loose even when installed back properly and the vibration (especially when driving over uneven roads) is causing the rattling sound.
I know it's a minor problem but the rattling sound can get irritating at times. My temporary fix is to push back the heavy owner's manual on that cover to prevent vibration.
We own a 2013 RX 350, purchased less than a year ago. We are experiencing this rattling noise coming from inside the side panels, its frequency changes depending on road and weather conditions like if road is rough or if its windy. We have taken the vehicle to Lexus Service three times so far for the same issue, they have acknowledged the issue. Last service took almost a month but still no remedy.
As of last service, Lexus took the entire roof liner down to fix the issue but it came back after one day post service.
Noise is extremely irritating because it occurs next to driver's left ear and is annoying as anything can be. Same goes for right ear for the front passenger.
We have owned Nissan Maxima, BMW and Lexus before and none of the vehicles had this issue.
The side trim panel on the passenger side seat was accidentally pulled away in the front. Checked the tabs and clip are intact, is there any special way to push that in? Or just by brute force?

View 1 RepliesOur 2007 RX350 with 91,000 miles started an annoying rattle at startup that lasts a couple seconds then goes away. The car drives fine and makes no unusual noise after the initial start. Its definitely not normal as it hasn't done it the last 91K miles we have driven the car.
View 3 RepliesMy '03 driver's side door has been opened enough, and unfortunately with force when it catches a wind gust or opens downhill, etc, that it's actually resulted in a lengthening crack in the middle of the inside door panel. There are two hinges that are fine, which actually keep the door attached to the car frame.
In between, on the higher side of the inside of the door, there's a 'stopper' bolted to the door, with a bracket 'inside' the door. That's where the force of the door opening is applied to the door itself, and where the crack has appeared. It's already a good 4-6 inches long, and presumably will keep going.
In my head, the options seem to be:
-wait for the stopper to fully rip a piece of the door off, at which point the door will open all the way into the car itself.
-attempt a small scale weld 'in place' with a small overlay strip across the crack.
-pull the door all the way apart to where the welder felt more comfortable doing a solid repair job.
-find a replacement door altogether.
I have a 2010 RX350 that the power tailgate will open by itself. This happens when sitting and the car off and no keys in it. I had heard that an aftermarket auto start ( which I have) can make this happen sometimes.. Is that true.
View 2 RepliesI recently brought my 2011 in for its final service with a laundry list of issues, one of which was the tailgate panel that was always loose and rattling. Of course the dealer told me there was no problem, and it's always been difficult to isolate the source of rattles on this car since the entire car is a symphony of rattling plastic.
I looked into the tailgate panel more closely to find that the two plastic grab handles built into the tailgate panel were loose. I pulled the panel off to discover the root for the problem. The two plastic grab handles are sonically welded (melted) to the tailgate panel, (five welds per handle). Three of the five welds on each handle were fractured, (six out of ten welds had failed).
I took the panel back to the dealership and showed it to the service manager who miraculously concluded that the panel was defective, but it wasn't like that when they looked at it the day before.
06 GS430 with Mark Levison suffers from most annoying rattle/clicking noise when music volume is on high, especially on front passenger side door panel. I took it to service under warranty, but they couldn't fix it. How to take the front passenger side door panel off?

My Power Tailgate opens automatically using the remote or the button next to steering wheel but no longer closes using the remote or that button. It only gives 2 beeps!
Tried toggling the button in the glove box but nothing.
Is there a way to re-program the tailgate/rear door height? Or even manually adjust? Just purchased a 2012 RX 350, and my garage is about 4 inches too short. Now I realize I can disable the electronic lift, but it's a shame not to be able to use this feature. I'm sure others have had this problem, but I've googled with no success.
View 14 RepliesRecently been having a rattle sound from the inside ( passenger front side ) sounds like the door card area? Haven't been able to figure it out. Only happens when I accelerate "strongly". Have had my JoeZ axle back for a nice amount of time. Happens once in a while, not every time.
View 3 RepliesI find it a little concerning that I can actually drive off in our RX350 without the key fob in it. I know there is a warning on the dash, but that doesn't stop someone from stealing it. May be a park lock out would be a better solution.
View 14 RepliesLooking for a new luxury SUV - had a 2001 RX-300 and put 230,000 miles on it and gave it to my daughter. The local Lexus dealer seems to have only AWD models and is not real useful in getting a FWD stripper (don't want nav, etc.) The local Acura dealer has several base MDX's in FWD and seems more useful. Drove both AWD versions and thought the Acura was much better handler and better road feel. Am leaning towards Acura but don't know about service costs and long term reliability - we will keep either car for 12 years probably. What say you? Doesn't seem to be a decent Acura MDX forum out there.
View 14 RepliesI just identified an annoying squeak as the right side of the tailgate, right at the hinge, rubbing on the section of the rear passenger side quarter panel (one with FX4 decal) where it curls around to the rear. Any way to easily adjust the tailgate slightly to the drivers side? When the tailgate is up, the gap is noticeably smaller on the passenger side, and when down, the edge of the tailgate rubs the edge of the quarter panel, paint to paint.

The manual shows where the adjustment screws are located, but does not indicate which way (clockwise or counter-clockwise) to turn the screw to raise the position of the headlight. Yes I could just start turning one way or the other to figure it out...
