View 4 RepliesI have a 13 RX350 with 10,000 miles with a side engine oil leak. I looked underneath and I think it's the timing chain cover seal. Took it to the dealer and they put dye in my oil to figure out where the leak is coming from. They suspect it to the timing chain cover as well. I am aware that 07 ES350s had a know oil leak coming from the timing chain cover but haven't heard anything about the RX having this issue. My service rep said they would have to remove the engine to fix the leak.
View 11 RepliesI have a 2015 Lexus rx 350 it is not all wheel drive. When I put the transmission in drive or reverse I have what I would call a double engagement. It feels like it is going into gear twice. It does not slip it shifts smooth.
View 1 RepliesI recently just purchased a 2011 Lexus RX350 AWD... I would like to ask on the downshift while slowdown the car.... Every once in a while I feel the tranny down shift while slowing down... It's not harsh or anything, but just enough to have a slight feel. Like a backlash? Is this normal? I also have 09 GS350 AWD.. It's so smooth that I can't feel the downshift at all...
View 11 RepliesI have noticed a few drops of red liquid on the driveway lately, presumably transmission fluid leaking. Where the leak typically starts, if there is a "typical" leak. Is it generally an expensive fix?
View 2 RepliesI am planning to buy a 2010 Camry se. everything looks good but there is oil drip in the transmission to rear of engine area.
View 2 RepliesMy 2007 RX350 has 14500 mlles. After almost coming to a stop (5mph) and at times that I need to accelerate quickly while traveling at approx 30mph the transmission wants to hunt for the proper gear. ILO downshifting to the next lowest gear it does nothing but hunts for a second (seems like a minute with traffic approaching) then grabs a gear. Engine RPM revs naturally but too high. Dealer states this is normal for the hunting action. The vehicle is perfect other than this one small problem.
View 14 RepliesPurchased my car in April of this year. Right at 2000 miles it began leaking oil and it was with dealer for over a week being repaired. Apparently it took so long because the engine had to be dropped to fix. At the time the dealer said they had 6 other 2015 350's with the same issue and were pushing for a recall. Now, a few months later and I have a puddle of oil under my car again. Very frustrating.
View 1 RepliesI find it a little concerning that I can actually drive off in our RX350 without the key fob in it. I know there is a warning on the dash, but that doesn't stop someone from stealing it. May be a park lock out would be a better solution.
View 14 RepliesLooking for a new luxury SUV - had a 2001 RX-300 and put 230,000 miles on it and gave it to my daughter. The local Lexus dealer seems to have only AWD models and is not real useful in getting a FWD stripper (don't want nav, etc.) The local Acura dealer has several base MDX's in FWD and seems more useful. Drove both AWD versions and thought the Acura was much better handler and better road feel. Am leaning towards Acura but don't know about service costs and long term reliability - we will keep either car for 12 years probably. What say you? Doesn't seem to be a decent Acura MDX forum out there.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2008 RX350 AWD with only 500 miles on it so far and I am starting to get concerned about what seems to be excessive slipping or a delay in response in the trans. Under normal forward driving the trans seems to shift very smooth. The problem occurs under situations where I am coming to a near stop, basically coasting, and then have to accelerate again to continue forward. This could be in a slow moving traffic type situation or when maneuvering through a parking lot. When I try to execute a small increase in speed the engine revs but the trans doesn't respond.
It's as though it's in neutral and unable to decide which gear it should be in. After a 2 to as long as a 5 second delay it finally engages and moves forward. The condition is even worse if I am heading into a slight incline. Once it is engaged everything is fine and the subsequent shifts are very smooth. When starting from a complete stop it works perfectly. I've never had a transmission slip this much in any vehicle. There was one situation where I was almost broadsided because the RX delayed in moving forward.
I realize this is a subjective call but I am trying to determine what level of slipping in the trans is considered normal under the conditions I've described. I have searched and read past threads about issues with the earlier model years but I thought they were resolved by now. I haven't taken the RX in for service yet but I fear I will get the standard - everything is working as designed - answer from my dealership.
I'd like to mount my passport 9500ix neatly in my new RX (CPO 2011)... I use a Blendmount and Mirrortap in my C6 Corvette, but I can't find a similar solution for the RX. Who has a Radar Detector mounted to the mirror in the RX
View 5 RepliesI have HID low beams and Halogen high beams on my 2015 RX 350. I'd like to set the HID low beams just a touch higher. The manual shows where the adjustment screws are located, but does not indicate which way (clockwise or counter-clockwise) to turn the screw to raise the position of the headlight. Yes I could just start turning one way or the other to figure it out...
View 14 RepliesWhile doing regular checkup on my car, I noticed that both radiator fans (left and right) are on when the engine is on even though the A/C is not running. Is this normal? Is this a minor issue that needs to be resolved? No faults on the dashboard btw.
View 11 RepliesI noticed it in my 2014 RX last weekend. I've only had it for a month!
View 1 RepliesI heard noises like a small pump noise and a hissing air sound above the muffler area. The car had been sitting for hours and no key fob close to it. I was climbing under it looking at something else when I heard it. Sounds like a tiny electric motor running with an air hiss. Passenger side. Just bought the vehicle last week. It has 27k miles on it. Had to replace battery the other day. Said battery was replaced a year ago. Wonder if this is hurting the battery? Start great in the morning. Vapor fuel pump?
View 4 RepliesI purchased a used 2012 RX 350 with 35K miles a month ago and just realized that when I come to a stop, the idle is pretty rough (or loud?). I also noticed that it's definitely rougher when the AC is on. As soon as I take my foot of the break and press the gas, the "roughness" goes away..
View 10 RepliesWe have a 2010 RX 350 and have had it for about 5 months. Recently, we noticed that when we stop we hear one beep and then when we put it into park, we get two beeps. It has just started doing this ..
View 3 RepliesIs this true that I it is nor possible to set destination while the vehicle is in motion? Even via voice command?
I often need to change destination or set a via point while I am driving, including on a highway. I do it via voice or ask my wife to set manually in such case. My MB allows it as well as every model of portable Garmin I've owned.
I heard that Navi on RX350 is blocking that. Is that true? How do you enter destination while you are on a highway? Let's say you need a gas station or a coffee shop, what do you do?
We are shopping for a new RX350 and this sounds like a deal breaker.
My 2010 RX350 started to make 'hum - hum - hum' noise whiling turning. It is fine while driving straight, only makes this noise while on a curve. If I disable traction control, the noise seems going away, at least it is a lot less.
View 3 RepliesExperienced excessive road noise with RX350? I have a 2014 with Dunlop tires, and on certain types of asphalt roads the road noise is incredibly high --- on other types it is unnoticeable. I'm thinking it might be the tires, but I'm not certain.
