Power hatch stop working? I get a long beep and nothing. Won't open or close, it has to be done manually. My next oil change is in 1-2 months so I was going to have it looked at then by Lexus under warranty. Nothing seems stuck in the latch.

View 3 RepliesMaybe I am paranoid, but recently I pushed power close button on the lift gate and a family member then also pushed the lift gate shut. Is it possible that the lift gate is broken now? It seems to work fine, but if I listen carefully I can hear some what seems to be grinding noises at the very top. Do the other RX power tailgates make a consistent sound throughout the open and close process.
View 6 RepliesI noticed yesterday that when I push the power tailgate button on the dash to open it, it made a single beep and didn't open. I could only get it to open the tailgate after I unlocked the doors. I also noticed that the key fob wouldn't open the tailgate from outside the vehicle while the doors were locked. I never noticed this before. Is this normal?

It doesn't make sense. Its in Park, the steering wheel moves forward, yet it beeps continuously if the door is open before you hit off like you left lights on or something.
Bought 2013 rx 350 and the button on the dashboard to open the rear hatch trunk just beeps twice and wont open. i have to use the remote to open and close and the button on the trunk works to close it.

View 4 RepliesMy wife's 2010 RX350 wouldn't start this morning. My guess is that the battery drained overnight with the back door ajar. After getting it started with a battery jump the rear hatch would not open by hand, the dash button or the key button. After driving and charging the battery the hatch would open. I'd this to be expected or an indication that perhaps the hatch has a fault?

View 6 RepliesWe own a 2004 rx330 and a odd thing occurs on warm days. That power liftgate will not open or close with the power buttons. It will open about 2 inches and close. When completely open, the power button will not close it. Works fine on mild weather days.

After going through this initial opening, the second attempt will open properly & close only when Power Door Button is depressed. Early on, I remember that I was able to easily close the rear hatch by just lightly yanking down on the handle, and gravity would do its thing. However, these days, I need to pull down much harder to get it to close in one try. Should I try to lube the hatch shocks and hinge? Or do I need to clean them first somehow?

View 4 Repliesunlike a lot of my fellow prii folks, i love the beeps. My favorite one is the confirmation of locking the doors by touch of handle and also unlocking by touch. Believe it or not i even like the backup beep which is kind of like a nice confirmation of "yo, dude! we are going backwards" but the most important one for me is the long single loud beep. happened the other day when i got out of my car to get a coke and the car emitted a continuous loud shrill beep as i started to walk away. I was still in drive.
View 3 RepliesStarted having a key issue: while in the car, intermittently, get a "key out" error with accompanying long beep as if you walked away with car running. This happened while driving. Changed the battery (key fob-keyless limited elantra 2011) but still did it. Not all the time, unpredictable. Got 90k miles, and not a covered entity per dealer...yes, not a power train component.
View 7 RepliesTook the car to the dealer, said "just turn off the beeps, all of them." The rep. said come back in an hour. Most of the beeps are off now, but I have an odd pair of problems.
1.) The rear hatch no longer beeps when open, but it also has no longer has the SKS function.
2.) The front seat belts no longer beep, but the front dome light no longer has an on-when-door-is-open function.
3) I'm waiting to see what bizarre side effects come from the single reverse beep.
The rep. says these are side effects from killing the beeps, that the nuisance beeps are tied to these two functions and that the only way to restore them is to bring back the beeps. He claims that the front beeps & dome light are triggered by a sensor inside the door that is part of the door latch, that when this sensor is disabled all its functions stop. I think he said it's the same problem with the rear hatch and its SKS.
I was busy playing with my license plate lights over the weekend and came across how to reduce the beep volume when opening the rear hatch when using the remote or indash power door button. I'm not sure if this has been discovered before but thought I would post in case no one knows about it.
I have done this mod on my car and I haven't had any adverse effects and everything works perfectlyfine (no new lights, errors or anything else). It doesn't get rid of the noise, but it does reduce it down to the same volume as when you unlock/lock your car. Open your rear power door
Carefully pry away the bottom section of the interior panel of the rear door (this will be the side furthest away from the rear window glass). The trim is held in place by plastic clips that will pop out. A gentle but firm tug will remove the first one and the rest will just follow as you work your way around.
Once this is open look on the end side of the door. You will notice a black box with one end being rounded. There will be a plug that fits into this. Remove the plug and stow away. I stowed mine back behind the part of the loom it extends from to keep it out the way
Put the trim back and enjoy that annoying beep now being a lot quieter. The rest of the beep is at the front of the car and looks to hide somewhere underneath the shroud of the wiper blades where the front struts sit. It looks to be from the same area as the speaker for the alarm, so probably won't be able to completely kill the noise.
Our 2009 LS trunk will not close, seems the power is not working it. Cannot find fuse box for it.
