Lexus RX 2010-15 :: No Volume Controls / AMP1 Fuse Keeps Blowing
Mar 27, 2016
I have no volume or voice command button. Also the amp1 fuse keeps blowing right away. Would a blown amp keep the voice command button from working?

View 5 RepliesThe fuse marked #14 which controls the starter and the windows keeps burning. This first happened about 3 months ago and I took it in to a shop which charged me to check all the wires just to tell me that all the wiring was insulated properly and to let me know incase the fuse blows again to keep a spare at all times. Today it happened again and when I replaced the fuse it blew even before I could properly install it and blew 4 fuses in total.
View 7 RepliesI've noticed one a while that my steering wheel volume control freak out! Sometimes, when I push it, instead of volume going up or down the telephone function gets activated?
View 1 RepliesI've been using Soundcloud (android) to stream music to the car and everything was going well until a couple days ago.
Whenever I touch the volume controls (steering wheel and center console) it always restarts the song that's playing (the volume does change but the song just restarts). Sometimes I inadvertently use the car volume controls and the song just resets!!
I've had the PC Shop fog light kit for about a year now along with a 35w HID kit. Was working fine for about a year and they stopped working. I checked the 20A fuse and it was blown. Replaced it, and immediately blows again as soon as I turn on the fog lights. Tried again with 15A, 25A and 30A, same thing. Perhaps coincidence, but the kit initially stopped working after a rainy day but I've driven my car through rain and snow in the past without issues. The HID ballasts are mounted 2ft off the ground and are waterproof.
View 1 RepliesMy 2010 Sante Fe started blowing the BCM 1 fuse. The vehicle will not even crank over. Its at the dealer for the 3rd time time this week. 1st time thought it was a faulty fuse, 2nd time replaced the drivers door lock actuator.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2011 Prius 3 and it keeps blowing fuse 29, its the fuse for the dome lights and then the dome lights don't work and the traction control light stays on. Why this fuse keeps blowing?
View 19 RepliesI have owned my Prius three, not III, for just over 2 years now. The first year I had no issue but now, when charging my iPhone 6, the fuse blows every 2-4 weeks. (My phone is the ONLY thing I ever plug in there). I finally tried replacing the 15amp fuse with a 20amp (I know, that's a no no). But I still blew the 20amp fuse now.
View 16 RepliesThe fuse wont blow instantly when I install a new one, it happens after about 5-6 days.
View 14 RepliesMy horn fuse on my 2011 LX 570 keeps blowing after first use of horn. What could be causing it?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2003 Passat W8 with the Monsoon system and today I had a new problem pop up with it. On my way to work this morning the steering wheel volume and tuning controls stopped working. I also noticed that the Heads up display in the center of the dash is now blank...it used to show the CD number and track number. I can't seem to find any blown fuses in the fusebox.. I don't have the removal tools but I was going to check behind the radio to see if there might be another fuse there...
View 3 RepliesOur '11 RX, no nav, has a startling ringer volume when a call comes in. The caller's voice is normal, but the ring-in is alarming. Looking for info if this is a function of the iPhone's ringer volume, or a setting within the car. If so, how to adjust just the ringer volume.
View 5 RepliesThe rear speaker volume in my 2010 RX 350 is very low. They produce sound but can only be heard when I put the balance almost completely in the rear. I prefer not to pay hundreds to the dealer and then possibly be told that I need to go to an audio specialist.
View 12 RepliesI've went onto TIS and received some info in regards to the electrical components of 2002 sc430.
Fuse 19 on Passenger Box: Interior light, personal lights, vanity lights, foot lights, ignition switch light, trunk light, antenna, garage door opener system audio system.
Each time I install a new fuse, it immediately pops. Wondering how to diagnose root cause. Often it seems that wires ran through door grommet can become exposed....I have done no modifications to the vehicle. Not sure if there is a particular area I should start looking for exposed wires, I have a feeling it is going to be a long process with my skill level to find the short.
This issue came on suddenly. I unplugged the license plate lights- fuse still blew. I don't know where the wire harness is for this group of wires going to these lights to check for frayed or melted wires. I don't see any damage any where. I am severely limited for funds for a mechanic so I need to try and figure this out first myself. Looking for pictures of how I can traces the wires through the car?
View 1 RepliesIs there a way to increase the volume of the buzz sound when locking the door with the remote? It has been bothering me for a while. Every time I lock the door with a remote as I am walking away from the car, I need to listen very carefully for the almost inaudible buzz sound so I am sure the door is locked. I searched in the settings but didn't find where it can be changed.
BTW, it is a 2014 RX350.
The door latch is broken so i need to change it, but i am going on a day trip to Quebec. Now, when i drive with the lights on there is a buzz, the same buzz when your door is open when you drive. I looked at the fuse diagram on that little card but I could not Id which fuse to pull to stop that wretched noise.

View 2 RepliesI have an 06 with 232,000. I was driving back home last week on a hot day and I noticed that the volume of air coming out of the a/c had gone down to about nothing. Doesn't matter what speed I put it on. I pulled over, pulled the cabin filter cleaned it and set back off. It seemed to be better for a while and then the same thing. Got home late that night, went out next morning and set off, all is well. I make frequent stops during the day for work, so all is well all day long. It was about an 1 1/2 hour drive home and about an hour into it same thing, no volume of air. Next morning, all is well. The fan seems to be working on all speeds, just no air, and only after it has been running for an hour. Shut it off for a while and everything is OK.
View 16 RepliesI have a 14.5 and my fiance drove it today and informed me that she couldn't adjust the mirrors... Thought she might be crazy, but when I went out there, sure enough, they wouldn't move. Seems like there's no power. Neither the left or right move... It was too late (and dark) to check the fuses, but there shouldn't be fuses blowing already on this car. Door locks, BSM, windows all work. Which fuse controls this or is there anything else I should check before I bring it in to Toyota?
View 12 RepliesYesterday the horn on my 2007 Passat has stopped working completely. I have read the owner's manual from cover to cover and the fuse for the horn is not listed anywhere in any of the fuse diagrams - either for the engine compartment cover, or on the fuses listed in the interior by the driver's side.
In addition the MFD steering wheel controls have also stopped working, and there is also no night time illumination on those buttons. I'm guessing as these are also located on the steering wheel that the two problems might be linked. I can live without the MFD controls, but the horn is a safety issue.
