Lexus RX 2010-15 :: Maintenance At 10K Service?
Jun 24, 2014
What should one expect during the 10K service? Is there anything I should ask for specifically? I already got some default settings fixed during my 5K visit.

View 14 RepliesI have the maintenance icon staring at me because when I change the oil on my 20012 Lexus, I forgot to reset it.
I looked in the RX 350 bible manual without any luck. What's the procedure?
I see from reading the Rx350 maintenance schedule there is a task to 'Reset Maintenance Reminder Light' Is this something a DIYr can do (simple to do on my 06 IS350) or is a PITA like on a German car..have to have a 'special tool'?
View 4 RepliesMy oil maintenance light keeps coming on at 5k miles even though oil change is suggested at10k with correct oil...
is there a way to have the reminder set at 10k its getting annoying...
I have a 14 RX with 12,000 miles on it and want to reset the message. I'm not finding anything when doing a search here. Need to reset the message? I'll be doing my own oil changes and tire rotations since the first free dealer oil change and rotation.
View 1 RepliesI watched a YouTube video on how to reset the maintenance message. Holding "ODO" then hitting start without foot on the brake didn't work like it did in the 2010 model year video. Something different for 2014?
View 3 RepliesI DIY most of my vehicle maintenance (oil, brakes, coolant, filters, etc.) so I figured the brake fluid wouldn't be an issue on the GX. However, while searching for the proper DIY procedure I found a number of posts that claim some Lexus models can ONLY be flushed at the dealer with Techstream.
Is this true for the GX or will the typical DIY work (pump brake and hold down, release bleeder valve to bleed fluid, close valve release brake petal and repeat)?
One thing i noticed on the GX is that the brake pedal will not presurize the lines if you pump it with the car off. That itself tells me I may be in for a surprise if I try the DIY method...
I just changed my oil 2 weeks ago and I still have this "oil maintenance required" on my dashboard. How to reset this? I've reset the all the maintenance on my NAV screen, but to no avail.
View 1 RepliesI am out of town and did the 15K maintenance. Garage tech did not eliminate this message. I do not have my manual here. 2013 RX350 ... steps to eliminate this message...

View 1 RepliesI recently had my 2013 Lexus RX 350 15,000 mile service which included tire rotation and balance. The service was performed at the dealership where I bought the car. Less than two weeks later, both tires on the left side went COMPLETELY flat. The front tire so flat that it was actually coming off the rim when I stopped the car because it was driving funny. The distance was out of my garage and down the driveway. The serviceman initially said it was a slit on the outer edge of the tire. Now they are saying it was a pinhole in both tires. Is it possible something could have gone wrong during the servicing to cause the tires on my brand new car to go flat?

View 4 RepliesMy GX pops up message to require service, the car just on 14,500 miles. I checked one dealer website, the service does not even include oil change. So the question is what service should I do for 15k?
View 14 RepliesI am getting a service engine message that goes off when I am driving for 45 minutes or more at highway speeds. Immediately when I slow down on a ramp, the light goes off and doesn't come back on until I am driving again for 45 minutes or more at highway speeds.
View 1 RepliesYesterday had 5000 miles/6 months service performed on 2015 3500 miles AWD RX-350. Right after leaving the dealer felt that steering wheel is too light. After some driving it returned to normal, but with very light shimmer during driving (40-50 ml/h) and stops . Today was backing up from garage and shaking was much more noticeable when reversed and parked, also it was some kind of (I think) engine roar. After that drove almost 30 miles with some steering wheel light shimmering, but no other issues.
Is it normal car behavior, and I'm just paranoid ? Or, if there is a potential problem, what could trigger it, and how it could be resolved?
How do you reset the display that says maintenance is due on my 2012.
View 2 RepliesThose that do their own maintenance, how do you get rid of that Oil Maintence Due Soon message that pops up when you start your Prius?
View 10 RepliesThe maintenance required light came on. Do I really need to do any maintenance at 5k?
View 16 RepliesMaintenance Mode is useful for running the engine continuously without it shutting off, such as when you do a coolant drain and fill and want to purge air out of the cooling system. With the car in Park, and your foot off the brake pedal, fully depress the accelerator twice.
Step on the brake pedal and use the shift lever to shift from Park to Neutral.
With the car in Neutral, and your foot off the brake pedal, fully depress the accelerator twice.
Step on the brake pedal and press the Park switch/button to shift from Neutral to Park.
With the car in Park, and your foot off the brake pedal, fully depress the accelerator twice.
Check that "Maintenance Mode" is displayed in the multi-information display.
Step on the brake pedal and then press the Power Switch to start the engine.
