I have a Lexus RX350, I notice that whenever I turn my car off it says "Key Battery Low". I obviously know what this means but that message doesn't appear every time I turn the car off.

View 11 RepliesAfter 4 years and 75k miles the oem battery finally needed replacement. Pretty incredible since average battery life is no more than 3 years in the 20 years I've been in the desert. The battery was out of the car for about an hour, but as far as we can tell the only settings not retained were radio presets and climate control. My phone was still stored. the only issue we're experiencing is the climate control seems to not turn automatically on intermittently. Most of the time you go to the car and start it up, ac and fan kicks on and everything is on auto. Twice the car starts but the climate control is off...fan off, no ac.
View 3 RepliesA week ago while on an errand my car wouldn't start when I returned to it. Dash panel lights/radio/seat belt chime all worked, however. Luckily the shopping center security had a jump box so after a couple of attempts the car started. Got it home, but then it would restart. Have a tester/charger, hooked it up, showed ok and fully charged. Still wouldn't start. Took battery out to shop to get another test to double check next day---battery was putting out 626 CCA when its rated 590 (a Motorcraft battery I'm sure came with car---I'm 2nd owner). Obviously tested good. Put battery back in car. IT STARTED. Drove on another errand and didn't switch off until returning home. After switching off would not restart.
Tried disconnecting and reconnecting battery cables thinking it was a connection problem of some kind---several attempts over last few days. Has yet to start back, and now the car's electronic display is giving a "Low Battery" message, even after I left on the charger (slow charge, 2 amps) ALL DAY, with charger telling me battery is good and fully charged!! I know it has a starter relay that I've found and unplugged and plugged back in (but haven't replaced yet---$9 from Ford). This does not seem like an alternator problem to me. Besides that and relay, the only thing I can think of is starter is bad. (Also had someone recommend to me trying to start with the car in N---auto trans; also no dice).
Twice this week I have received the Yellow Triangle alarm with the message Key Battery Low. This is the first time I have seen this alarm since I bought the car in August 2009.
I changed the battery the first time after 3 years based on recommendations from the forum. This time the batteries lasted just over 2 years.
I tested the batteries on both Key Fobs and they were both in the 2.9V range. The new batteries tested at 3.3V which is their rating. So ~2.9V must be the low alarm setpoint.
After installing new battery, I have no functioning air conditioning or heating system. When I select the climate button I get a message (check connection to air condition). What is going on?
View 2 RepliesToday after running several errands, I stopped by the local CarWash to rinse the car. Same as always, parking brake off, shift into neutral and away we go. Half way threw she starts beeping, I see the yellow triangle and to the right a boxed message "LOW TRACTION BATTERY SHIFT INTO P POSITION". There was a sudden rush of anxiety because I could not shift while being conveyor-ed threw the wash. As soon as I was pushed out and the light turned green, I shifted into drive to exit. The warning and box cleared instantly.
I pulled into parking, shifted into P, and noticed the battery indicator had only 1 bar. Did a quick walk around of the car and got back on the road thinking, head directly the Dealership. Before I got to the freeway I was back up 4 bars and climbing. Continued on the freeway and within 2 exits all looked normal. As it is Saturday and the Dealership was 1 hour from closing, I proceeded home. Later we went to dinner and an event, then came home. All is still normal. Owners Manual only states to follow the command on page 515.
I know this is a long story and was intentional to starve off multiple questions. The only thing I can think is that the air conditioner, radio and headlights were on prior to, while waiting my turn for wash (park-roll-park-roll...) and up to the point of the warning (tuned off all at that point) while in the tunnel. However this is normal for me. Will monitor the battery indicator more closely for a while. I'm sure this event latched in a computer somewhere, so will run by the Dealer if anything else acts up again. A/C and radio and lights are turned off now while in "neutral", for whatever reason. The car is a 2010 II and only 27600 miles. Was not a pleasant feeling.
I have a 2006 GS300. Changed out the battery today, and immediately after the AC quit working. Pushing the climate control button reveals the message "Check the connection of the air conditioner".

View 3 RepliesI've noticed that the car has started to give me all the dummy messages, particlarly "CHECK 4WD" when I turn the ignition on without the engine running. If I then hold the brake pedal and start the engine, the message remains. If I turn the ignition off, and then start normally with the brake pedal depressed and start the engine it goes all normally and "CHECK OK" and I never get any errors when driving. I also noticed when this happens the AFS light is flashing as well - well, basically every warning on the dash is lit.
So, what's up with that ... I know it's normal for all the dash lights to light when the ignition is on and engine is off but I never noticed CHECK 4WD in this state previously. I haven't really noticed if it happens every time but it seems to happen quite a bit when I just turn the ignition back on to do something like close the moonroof if I forgot it. It's also odd that it doesn't clear when starting the car without first turning ignition off after that.
I assume that nothing is actually broken because it all behaves normally when starting the car regularly and the car does not complain at all when driving around.
Got a warning that AWD is not working. Tried to remove the cover from the driver's side fuse cover to check fuse and no luck. I have removed the thumb screw that secures it but cannot get cover off. 2011 RX350.
View 1 RepliesA mechanic at the Lexus dealer showed me how to reset (remove) the oil change warning message on the gps screen. It has something to do with pushing the A/B odometer buttons when the engine is not running. Unfortunately I did not write it down nor do I remember it.

I checked the XM weather feature as well.. although that feature (graphics) seem pretty useless.
My GX pops up message to require service, the car just on 14,500 miles. I checked one dealer website, the service does not even include oil change. So the question is what service should I do for 15k?
View 14 RepliesSo I just purchased my new-to-me, CPO 2010 RX 350 two weeks ago. It had 81,750 miles when I purchased it, and it now has about 83,000 miles. I just came back from a weekend vacation, having driving about 500 miles total. This morning when I turned on the car, I noticed a message saying "Check AWD System," the check engine light was on, the general warning light was on, and the traction control light was on. As I was driving, I realized that the car wasn't downshifting properly. I didn't drive faster than 40 mph on my morning commute. When the car did downshift, it was a hard, jerky shift.
I did some reading on the forum, and many people suggested all the warning lights could be fixed by taking off and retightening the gas cap (due to the vehicle not reading the emissions properly or something?). I also read that topping off and overfilling the gas tank can be cause for the warning lights to go on. I did fill up once on my way home from my vacation, and haven't filled up since.
Anyways, I just now tried to adjust the gas cap and then restart the car, but the warning lights are still on. What I should do or if I should drive it a bit to let the emissions build up again? My problem is is that I live about 6 hours from a Lexus dealership, so I'm trying to figure out if I can resolve this on my own or what I should tell a mechanic specifically if I need to take it in.
I am out of town and did the 15K maintenance. Garage tech did not eliminate this message. I do not have my manual here. 2013 RX350 ... steps to eliminate this message...
View 2 RepliesI am getting a service engine message that goes off when I am driving for 45 minutes or more at highway speeds. Immediately when I slow down on a ramp, the light goes off and doesn't come back on until I am driving again for 45 minutes or more at highway speeds.
