I was changing the interior lights for my wife's 2010 RX350 and suddenly all the lights went out on me at the same time. Did the fuse in the box went out on me? I just did the same for my Isf and everything went well....
View 2 RepliesI bought my 11 GX460 a few months a go and I went out yesterday morning and it wouldn't start.. Of course I left the interior lights on and I drained the battery. Is there a setting somewhere that can automatically turns the interior light turn off after a set amount of time.
View 4 RepliesWe were driving 2015 450h with 2200 miles on a slight downhill grade about 50 mph. Suddenly ABS warning light, master warning light, and audible warning activated. The center console "Brake" illuminated and the information center displayed "check hybrid system".
My wife attempted to pull the car off the road in a controlled manner but even slightly touching the brakes caused them to pulse, braking hard and then releasing. She finally got the car to the side of the road and shut the engine off. I then got into the drivers seat and turned the car on. The messages remained. Tried on an off, still the same. Tried brakes, the seemed functional. Since we were in a location that did not have cell service and it was an unsafe location to leave the car managed to drive it into nearest town.
Turned the car on and off about 10 times over the period of an hour. Without explanation, the car started with no warning messages. Dove the car another 200 miles since and it has now been at he dealer for over a day with no word.
I did see where a few RX350 models had reported a similar problem, but no 450h's. At the time of the incident we were not using the PCS system (off) . I am wondering about that as well since the ABS might be tied into the PCS?
They used too but now they don't. They do come on if I lock the car and then use the fob to manually unlock the car or touch the door handle.
I have tried my other fob and it still won't work.
It was always fine until today, other than a fuse is there something that accidentally got turned off?
Is a trip to my stealer in my future?
We all know that it's dim, along with all the other interior lights of the 06 GS300, I've already checked the door light and it's on a circuit board, and the I-JDM ones fit everything but the GS.
View 9 RepliesI just got my 2013 Elantra in Pearl White GLS Preferred Package about a month ago, and since then the interior lights fuse has blown twice. The first time I took it back to the dealer and they replaced a fuse. It then worked for about a week or so and they're out again. Also, the passenger fog lamp keeps just blowing bulbs.

Messed with it. Didn't work.They are staying on, after locking doors and significant time lapse. Is there a switch or button that would do this?

View 6 RepliesI installed my dome light, map light, and rear license plate LEDs with no problem a couple of months ago. When my LEDs for the vanity lights came in today, I immediately went to install them. The first one on the driver's side was installed without a hitch, but after I installed the second one on the passenger side, none of the interior lights worked. The only difference in installation I can think of is that I disconnected the light on the passenger side as opposed to keeping it plugged in on the driver's side.

I left the hatch up for a few days because I didn't drive it due to hot weather. The battery died on me of course. The dead battery measured 6.59v No amount of "battery recovery" time is going to recover it to start up the Prius. I charged up an old DeWalt 12V NiCad battery. I jump started the Prius with it. When I power down the Prius, the interior lights went back to really dim.
I want to replace the interior reading lights but not sure how to do so. I've taken a flathead screwdriver and popped out the plastic cover and revealed three bulbs. Am I supposed to twist them or pull them straight out? Or am I doing this completely wrong and should i pop out a cover or something?

However, if the doors are unlocked, the interior lights do not come on and I get in the car in the dark and fumble around in the dark getting situated. Is there a setting that controls this so I can change it?

View 8 RepliesI have a 2006 GS3. It's been fine with no issues starting up. I drove it fine yesterday but when I went out to the garage today the car wouldn't start. So here's what happened. I got in to start it up like normal, the green light came on, but the car didn't start. Tried it again but this time there were no lights other than the green light and the brake pedal was hard to press. There were no warning lights of any kind. I figured the battery is dead. Since I live across the street from an Auto Zone I took the battery over there to have it checked (despite the fact that it's only 8 months old). The battery is still good at 12.5 volts and fully charged.
I put the battery back in and the high beams and parking lights came on right away. So figured everything is fine. But when I got in the car the green light still didn't come on, along with none of the door lights or anything else. My car lights are on auto so I turned them off but the lights stayed on. I disconnected the audio in the trunk also to make sure I'm not drawing power from any where else but still the same result. The exterior lights won't go out and the car won't start.
I drive my 2005 Prius 40+ miles each way for my commute. I bought it in the fall of 2007 with 56k miles already on it, and with my commute I'm up to 140,000 miles already.
This morning I was about 5 minutes from work, cruise control on, and deeply absorbed in listening to a podcast. I was startled out of my reverie by several things happening simultaneously. The car beeped, the cruise control kicked off, and multiple warning lights lit up on the dash, with a warning icon of some kind also on my MFD.
(Once stopped, I looked up the warning lights. They were: Master warning light; Check engine light, or "malfunction indicator lamp", according to the manual; YELLOW Brake system warning; VSC warning light. On the MFD, the Hybrid System Warning Light was on.)
I was on the highway doing about 70 and I had just crested a hill, so I allowed the car to coast on the downside while trying to access the situation. I cautiously pressed the accelerator, and though the road noise made it impossible to hear the engine, the car seemed to still be driving normally. The Energy Monitor still showed normal flows between battery, engine, and wheels. I had one final, short uphill climb before my freeway exit, so I chanced it. I took it easy and allowed my speed to decrease on the uphill so as not to push too hard, just in case. Once off the freeway, most of the remaining mile is downhill or flat - I can often make it to the office without the engine, and in fact I did so this morning.
Once at the office, I put the car into Park and grabbed the manual so I could identify all the warning lights before powering off the car. I turned off the Prius, let it sit for 5-10 seconds, and powered it back on. The brake system warning and VSC lights did not come back on - only the master warning light, and "check engine" lights reappeared, and "Problem" on the MFD was again replaced by the Hybrid System Warning icon. After the usual 10 seconds, the engine started normally and responded to the accelerator.
One additional note: After the freeway exit, my car is usually at 1 green bar or just below on the hybrid battery. Immediately following the freeway exit is a steep downhill that usually puts the SOC to completely full. That was the case again today, and as often happens, that full charge was able to take me the rest of the relatively flat, distance to the office at my usual 25-35 mph. I mention this because whatever might be setting off the warnings, the Prius still seems to be managing the charge level normally; at least in the admittedly short period I was able to observe it after this occurred.
I just drove my 2 year old prius during the snowstorm for the first time. While parked, I turned the car on, headlights on, and tried to move the car. The gas engine already shut down during warm-up. Car was stuck in snow. I had to move back and forth on electrical only a few times before getting out.
Here is the question. After a second or third try in reverse, dashboard lights suddenly went totally dark, and would not turn on until headlights were off. I could not drive like that at night, so I stopped and googled it on my cell. Turns out the dimmer was all the way off.
But how???? I did not touch it. The car started just fine, everything working. Only after a few attempts to get of of the snow the dash went out? Is there something wrong with the electrical circuit? I did try to move the car very gently, without flooring the pedal.
I have a 2006 Lexus GX 470, that i drove through a street with about 2.5ft of water the other day (there was no other option due to an crazy high tide coming up in downtown Charleston, SC).
This happened about a month ago. Afterwards I made it 500 yards and the car just powered off. While I was calling the tow truck (within 20 minutes), I was able to get it to crank back up. I drove it the next three weeks through Christmas without any issues. On Christmas I parked it and we drove our other car out of town. When I got back, it cranked for maybe 15 seconds, then died, and hasn't cranked since.
When I say it won't crank, all of the interior power and lights come on, but when you turn the key nothing happens. No clicking or anything such as a bad starter would cause.
I have taken it to the repair shop and they can't find the issue, and they tell me their scanner won't talk to my ignition, fuel injection, and I think emissions computer. They can talk to the ABS computer.

View 4 RepliesSo, my wife tells me that the interior lights have been flashing on. When she accelerates from a stop that blink on for a second. I figure she has not shut a door well but it appears that she has. I have not had a chance to check the doors.
View 2 RepliesWhen I open the driver door at night, the brake pump would dim the interior lights a little while running. Is this normal for a 6 month-old aux battery? All my trips are 30 mins or longer so it has plenty of opportunity to recharge.
