Jul 24, 2013
I wonder if I could remove the SOS system and install eyeglass holder in its place?

View 1 RepliesI have a 2009 GS350.
Its Satellite radio ready, meaning it has a SAT button and it has the shark fin antenna on the roof. When you push the SAT button nothing happens. I was told I need to get the unit installed. I am assuming all the wires are run through the car and its just a simple plug and play, but I'm thinking that would be too easy. Also where does the unit get installed? Where to even look to see if the wires are there.
I have the part number for the battery. It is a series D51 Optima # N9951 YEL ( Napa auto parts )$149.00. You need a new positive post bracket with stud attached (standard post size, since the old one is smaller than normal) and a universal ground bracket with the clamp for a wire install. Cut off the ground clamp ( old one) and install the wire to new one. Look at the positive post ( old one ) and get a new one with the same configuration with the post bolt. Unbolt the positive unit from the old bracket and install new one. The Optima is the same size as the old one so everything goes back under the cover. It is a non vented battery so you do not need the hose hooked up to it.
If you are not good with electrical connections get the terminal kit . Then it is just a matter of unbolting the battery and replacing the cables , connectors and your done.
I really want to put Viper into my car, the remote start and security system. I was thinking about putting in the 5901 or 5704 in, is there a difference?
Should I get the extra accessories like the audio sensor and tilt sensor? And I'll probably need a transponder bypass module with it too?
Is there a way to disengage the side mirrors from turning downward during the reversing process?
Last weekend, I found it very difficult to see my JetSki trailer while backing down the boat ramp.
And no, the monitor does not work in this situation.
Maybe I am paranoid, but recently I pushed power close button on the lift gate and a family member then also pushed the lift gate shut. Is it possible that the lift gate is broken now? It seems to work fine, but if I listen carefully I can hear some what seems to be grinding noises at the very top. Do the other RX power tailgates make a consistent sound throughout the open and close process.
View 6 RepliesI am trying to remove the drink compartment so I can remove a pen that has lodged behind the lid on the cup holder?
View 3 RepliesAfter going through the car wash several times now in my 2010 RX 350, my front license plate has been bent in all different directions. Car wash guys say it's due to not having a full plate holder, where as 4 screws secure the plate vs. only the top 2 as we have. Any plate holder from another vehicle that I might adapt to overcome this?
View 14 RepliesFound out today the cup holder cover stuck open, button is stuck depressed so lid doesn't close, taken out this section before? I guess kids was having too much fun with it.
View 1 RepliesI read through all the discussions on this topic scattered across a number of threads, and finally pulled the trigger. Just wanted to share the simple steps I took and some pictures.
The overriding conclusion is: it is easy; you can do it without drilling holes!
OK, let's start with a few photos of the parts. Note the "infamous" clips and double-sided tapes in the third picture.
How to install passenger side view monitor of 2010 RX350? I have bought OEM side view camera and steering wheel control button. I don't know to connect the wire. My car had navigation and parking assist already. How to install it?
View 14 RepliesI have a 2014 Sport.
My sunglasses holder on the roof next to the courtesy lights always pops open, especially on hot days.
I suspect the clip that is supposed to keep the holder closed is loose or very weak. I searched online and don't see a recall about this or anything.
I came into my car, I was cleaning my cup holder and the bottem is MELTED! All I keep there is GUM and drinks. The melted plastic is the same dent as if I staked the gum box. What kind of cheap plasic is Lexus using? I can't believe its gotten THAT hot in the car. Heck, I would figure other things to melt first. To top it off, the gum box looks ok. No plastic smell from it either.
View 14 RepliesMy son was getting out of the back seat and pulled his coat across the cup holder in the center console and broke it. The dealer said that I have to buy the whole arm rest for $1100. I can unzip the leather and there is two screws in the back that can be removed and the cup holder comes out. Can replace just the cup holder?
View 12 RepliesI am in the process of having my interior wrapped in 3M Anthracite and have the cup holder removed, and noticed there is a wire harness below it that plugs into the cup holder unit. Since the holder doesn't truly have any electrical components what is the purpose of it? Additionally, I've noticed since I unplugged this harness, my LuxLink has stopped responding. How this can be related?
View 14 RepliesIt needs to be replaced. I have to have it done soon. I have never had this happen to any other vehicle, and am wondering if this is an issue with these vehicles?
View 9 RepliesRecently the front cup holder(just behind the parking break lever) on my 08 gx470 is refusing open. My mobile is stuck inside and i don't want to break it.
View 8 RepliesI'm so used to my Prius which had a sunglasses holder compartment on the center roof. I didn't realized how great it was until now.
Where do you normally store your sunglasses? I'm looking for a place with easy access.
The cup holder lid won't stay closed on my wife's 2009 es350. The lid moves fine, but won't click to stay closed. Can I repair this myself.
View 5 RepliesMy rear seat cupholder is stuck close. I'm referring to the one in the armrest. I purchase truck about few weeks ago and haven't used the holder. Looking for info about removing the holder?
View 8 RepliesI will be receiving my 2010 Prius in a day or two. The road condition in Pakistan are not that favorable for the imported cars as they get hit from underneath alot. So I'll need to put 1" spacers on top of the rear suspension. that will require disassembling the shock absorbers. I just need to know how to disassemble the interior to gain access to the suspension nuts inside the car?
