View 8 RepliesThere are threads discussing problems with headlight washers not retracting (stuck open) but I haven't seen anything about the washers not extending. The passenger side works fine but the driver side does not extend. The pump, however, does seem to work because washer fluid flows from under the front of the car. Thus, the sprayer is spraying inside the bumper (probably not a good thing).
When I press the service button, the passenger side opens and extends but the driver side washer cover does not budge. What would be the best way to troubleshoot this problem? Is there a way to access the washer without taking off the bumper? Can the washer cover be pulled open (sounds like a bad idea)?
While I was driving home tonight, i rolled over something essentially ripped off part of the inner fender on the front driver's side. I think it might be a two or three piece set for the inner fender. the front section that protects some fluid tank and the headlight stuff is now gone. the top and rear pieces are damaged. I will post photos/videos tomorrow during daytime when I remove the remaining pieces (can't drive with them in). I don't know if there are any differences between the various years, but I do have a 2015.
View 14 RepliesI just got this 07 GX470. I had it shipped here on the back of a truck, he drove through some snow storms apparently.
First thing I did was take it to a carwash. When I get to the dryer part (big blower motors at the end of the wash), my feet and my passenger's toes became soaked. I shined a light up under the dash and couldn't see anything wet. Everything else in the car appears dry as far as I can tell.
It's in the 40s here currently.
OnApril 3, 2014, I purchased a 2007 Lexus RX350 with 60,000 miles. It was first driven in June or July of 2006, and I was told by numerous Lexus owners that Lexus was absolutely great about any problems I might have, Lexus was fabulous about putting customer service and care first.
Sometime in mid-July, when my mechanic was changing the oil, he noticed the rack and pinion steering were leaking. I did some research and discovered the leak was relatively common in the 2007 RX350 Lexus and most owners found they didn't need to do anything about the leak unless it was severe. I chose not to fix it at that time.
In late November, early December 2015, I noticed condensation behind both headlamp lenses. The headlamp on the driver's side was beginning to rust and the ballast had already been ruined. To fix the headlamps would require a full headlamp assembly. I called a local dealership and was told there was a voluntary recall or warranty. I don't remember the exact words.
Really? Six (6) months too late for a vehicle that had 60,000 miles on it. Now a car that I've had less than two (2) years currently with 80,000 miles, will require several thousand dollars to fix the headlamps.
Noticed that my drivers side back up plastic cover is cracked with a small hole in the top. Would like to RTV the damaged area to seal it but I need to remove it to make the repair. I've pulled some of the inner plastic on the door but can't get at the back up plastic cover.

View 7 RepliesMy driver side door has not been working for about a month now. It started gradually opening after a million tried but now it just wont open. Tonight one of my lamps stopped working when I was trying to install HID's. I suspect the fuse is burned out but cant get to it cause the door wont open. How can I get my door open. Need headlights as I get out of work late night and dont want to get pulled over for a headlamp being out.
View 8 RepliesOne of many issues I need to fix - headlight washer fluid cover seems to be stuck open. i applied moderate force to push it back in, but it did not move, and i do not want to risk breaking it.
I'm thinking some wiring isn't right, maybe connectors never got reconnected.. the auto adjusting headlights don't work either, and the washer fluid line from the firewall that runs to the washer fluid tank was hastily crimped on due to the plastic hose fitting being most likely broken off or lost. Does the bumper need to come off to mess with it? guessing yes.
I have a 2005 Toyota Echo that has just recently developed a problem with the driver side low beam headlamp. When I hit the light with my hand then it comes to normal but when I switch off the car engine and restart then again no lowbeam lights.
I thought one of my bulbs had burned out and when check the bulb so I found a small piece broken in bulb glass so I replace it with new one and then.
The one working was went off and the one bulb replace start working then I took off both bulb and swap with each other and now..
When the lights are on low-beam the bulbs barely light and if I switch to high-beam only driver side works and passenger side no low/high beam.
Both parking and turn-signal works perfectly However. Somebody suggested that the ground wire of headlight could be damage/faulty.
Every once in a while one of the headlamp washer covers will be open when I park the car. When that happens I just push it back into place, but it would seem that there should be some sort of auto-retract spring or something to keep it from gravity opening. Is there a spring that might be missing on mine?
View 5 RepliesI'm loving my recently acquired 2007 LS460 but am wondering about a quirk. After every car wash my drivers window continues to get smeared with water for 3-4 days every time I put it down and up. I've never seen it last this long or this bad on any previous car. Could this indicate some kind of bad seal? I only notice on my drivers window. I'll have to check the others.
View 4 RepliesHaving issues with the brakes locking to the rotors after washing the vehicle? I washed it on Saturday afternoon, pulled it back into the garage and it sat there until Monday morning.
I back the vehicle into the garage, always. I started it up, put it in D and usually it will want to lurch forward if I don't hold the brakes firmly. Not today. I could not get the thing to budge. I sat there for a few seconds to make sure the parking brake was not on. It was not, as I never use that. My garage floor is the slippery concrete, plus with the tire shine that I applied, the wheels were just spinning.
After I managed to get the vehicle halfway out, I put it in reverse...that worked no problem. I put it back in drive and had no issues after that. Do I need to have the vehicle looked at? It only has 5,400 miles, and it was just in last week for the 5K mile service.
Just picked up a GX470 today. Both headlamps work but passenger side not really shining. Is it common for lens to get that dirty? Anyway to clean it.
View 8 RepliesMy wife came home this evening and said our new Treg 'smelled' when she came to a stop light. She says she had no error messages or lights, other than low washer fluid. I went out, smelled nothing, so I started it up. All gauges normal. No odd sounds... no odd smells. I shut it off and looked under the car and to my surprise saw oil rapidly dripping from the drives side at about the front axle. I checked the dipstick and it showed no oil at all. I plugged in my VAG-com and checked for codes - nothing.
I'm hopeful that the engine is not now a paperweight. I suspect VW will want to fix the leak and give the truck back to me. I think at a minimum I need them to do a leak down compression check.
This used RX has been a nightmare so far. In the shop again, this time because the driver side AC is not cold but the passenger side is. Shop told me they are doing a system evac and recharge but I don't think that is it. My son's Yukon has a dual air setup and the blend doors are issues on those.
I think something similar is happening with the RX but I am not familiar enough with them to know.
Well I took the GX into a rough part of town in and literally left the car parked for 30 minutes, and I come back to find the drivers side mirror missing. Good news is, the thieves unplugged it, dare I say professionally and I have no ripped or spliced wires, everything is in tact. I found a mint condition mirror on ebay and bought it for a fraction of the cost the stealership would charge, however as simple as it looks, it is a bit difficult to snap the mirror onto the white plastic piece. I do not want to apply too much pressure and crack the mirror from the front. Any hacks on an easier way to put it in?

Had a fog light go out driver side. At the time not knowing better and the auto parts store saying th H16 bulb crosses to a H11. I replaced both with H11 they ran for a little bit ( don't know ,I tested they worked, so I went for a drive come back 30 min later not working).
Replaced those with new H16 bulbs but now they do not work. Tested bulbs individually, and they are fine. Fog light indicator comes on on panel, but they do not work.
I have an 04 F250 and the driver side windshield washer doesn't spray on the windshield. It sprays a stream up high on the windshield. Is it possible to replace the spigot where the spray comes out? Is there another solution?
