Should the garage door opener buttons (1 through 3) light up at night with the headlights, etc. on...? I
'm thinking they should and I'm missing a "turn on" somewhere.
They are very hard to see in the dark.
I'm not sure this is by design but the buttons for sunroof and garage door are not illuminating at night. I would like to know if your vehicles have the same behavior. I try to look for any info in the manual but can't find anything. I thought there would be a switch somewhere that turns this on and off but I can't find it anywhere either. My brother-in-law has a 2012 Toyota Sienna van and these buttons do light up at night while my 2012 RX350 does not. I find it interesting for a luxury vehicle.

View 1 RepliesWe just traded in our 91 passat for a 2004 passat. I am trying to program the factory garage door opener that is on the drivers side sun visor. I have read the manaul and cannot get it to program to my door. I tried holding down buttons 1&3 untill it flashes, Then hold down #1 Button and then the "learn" button on the opener (at the same time) then the remote will flah slow then fast when it has the code. Is it possable it will not work with a 6 year old Chraftsman opener?

View 13 RepliesGen 3 2011, rear view mirror grarage door opener light has a constant dim blink. The second light which indicates reflective repression will not turn on or off. That light should be on at night all the time.

View 10 Replies2001 Wagon : My fuel door opener is sporadic. I put a meter on the plug at the solenoid and I get 12V(ish) when I push the fuel door button. I took the solenoid off and connected it straight to a battery and it moves.
So I am thinking that it is just not getting enough power (current). I wanted to jump the switch, but it has four wires and I have no manual or anything like that. What the four wires do at the switch? There is only two at the solenoid....
I've been trying to program the remote on 2 keys. With the sequence found online and in this forum, I did the insert/remove several times with no success. I then tried to turn the master key ON/OFF TWICE, which erases all the other remotes. Still did not program the new key, but now it seems to have affected my door lock buttons in the doors.
When I hit the lock buttons inside the car, the lock is sluggish, and I cannot repeatedly lock/unlock from the door switch. The second or third try gets a dull thud and the door lock only moves partially into the lock position.
Is it possible to reset the door locks so they again click in place with a nice, beefy motion?
2009 ES350. Yesterday, I came back from work to see that our garage door was left open all day then in the middle of the night, I saw that it was opened again. Luckily, nothing was taken from our garage. When I checked the homelink button, it was jammed in (stuck) which most likely is causing this. When I tested the button, it keeps getting stuck.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2010 RX450H and recently I've noticed the inner taillights (the portion that is stuck on the boot door) fails to light up when the headlights are switched on. At times I give it a nudge and it seems to work again. I'm guessing it's a loose connector somewhere. I tried look at the boot door but couldn't figure out how to get to the taillights. Is it even worth my trouble to attempt fixing it myself or should I send it in to the dealer to have it looked it.
View 2 RepliesI recently picked up a 2014 LX that has a Front Wide Camera in the grill (Im sure they all do). So when I go to park I noticed that the front Lexus Park Assist Sensor doesnt come on and start beeping as I get closer to the garage door nor does it come up on the screen. I took it in to get it looked at, and the dealer said they programmed it, but all they do is turn the front camera on to "Auto". My question is, is the front Park Assist Sensors not enabled if we have a Front Wide Camera? I tried looking in the manual and it shows you could adjust it, but when I check the settings I could only adjust the rear sensor.
View 2 RepliesMy 2010 Lexus RX350 doesn't perform the complementary dinging warning when the lights are left on. Every car I've ever had, and even the Lexus loaners I get, dinging if I leave the lights on. This car? No.
The dealer is saying this is "by design" because it has auto off lights. That doesn't make sense, since the loaners all ding when I leave the lights on (yes, I checked).
What do I tell them to turn on to make this work the way "all other" vehicles work? I found something called "Light Remind" in "C Best Settings"
Warning LIGHT REMIND ON/OFF of headlight reminder buzzer ON/OFF ... Is this applicable to the 3rd Gen 2010 Lexus RX350? Also, is there some way I can do it myself?
This is in reference to having a warning when lights are in the "On" position. In the "Auto" position, it would seem reasonable that there is no warning. But in the "On" position, it seems reasonable to have the alert.
Me and the wife are on the hunt for a RX350. (2010-2012) I'm trying to figure out what buttons should be in the blanks on the dash to the left and right of the steering wheel. I know to the left are headlight washers, tailgate, and fuel door. To the right in the biggest blank is where HUD should be. But what is all the other ones for? I have yet to find one that has all of them filled.

It turned off after about 10sec but I haven't driven the car for 8 hours. Does it level itself all the time even when not running? Do I have a leak or could it just be that it's now getting cold and was warmer today?
View 6 RepliesWe have a 2010 RX350. It makes a noise at a strange time. While in the garage with the engine off sometimes it makes a humming noise. The noise can last up to five minutes. It sounds like it could be coming from the back but not positive. The car has not been operated for several hours when the noise occurs. If I start the engine and immediately cut it off the noise goes away. I know that it will never do this if I take it to the Lexus dealership.
View 3 RepliesGot a bit of an issue with the cabin lights in the rear. I am able to manually turn on the lights by pushing the individual light buttons, however if I push either the 'door open' or 'rear light' buttons there is no response.
View 3 RepliesToday at some point I noticed that the joystick does not move the cursor and does not have that normal stiffness. At the same time, none of the center console buttons were responding to pressing. However, the GPS was tracking the movement on the map. After turning off the engine and starting again, all returned to work normally. The Lexus dealership checked it and did not find any issue.
View 2 RepliesSo all but the driver door window switch stopped working including the lock and unlock buttons. The windows still go up and down but from the other door switches.
My best guess is the master switch is gone bad. And at over 65k I'm sure it's no longer under warranty. I called the local dealer today and quoted me over $500 and would not give me the part number.
After parking the car for 15mins and turned the car back on, decided to try again. Everything works now I haven't taken anything apart yet but now I'm curious what caused it to temporarily fail.
After 30 mins of the car being on I decided to roll the windows up but the switch was dead again.
When our 2008 Outback (75K miles) is running the garage door remote in the car will not open or close the door. New batteries in the remote, so that can't be the cause. We have to turn the car motor off, operate the remote, then start the car again. We have to follow the same procedure when getting back into the garage. This just started about a month ago and does not happen with any of the other cars in the garage when opening or closing the same door, i.e. the remotes operate with their motors running. Is it possible there is some new electrical discharge from the car that is causing this? Something unusual with the alternator? Other possible causes?
