I bought my RX350 last month and sometimes I notice a strange buzzing sound coming from the car while the engine is off. This noise can come at anytime and usually hours after I have turned off my car. It's difficult to isolate where it's coming from and can last just a few minutes.
View 14 RepliesI keep my 2015 RX 350 in the garage, and last night I noticed a humming or buzzing noise coming from it. I switched the ignition to accessory position and turned it off and the noise stopped. A search here turned up many discussions noting is is the gas evaporation leakage check valve and it is a normal function of the vehicle. My question, is this some sort of pump that is running and causing battery drain?
View 3 RepliesMy left headlight has been going off periodically, so to confirm that it's the bulb, tonight I switched the bulbs from left to right/right to left.
The job went very smoothly. It took me about 20 minutes, but I took my time. I buttoned everything back up and turned on the lights. Both sides came on, but I immediately noticed a very loud buzzing/whining sound coming from both headlamps. It is very loud and I know I would have noticed it before at some point over the course of the last three years that I've owned the car. Obviously, this is not normal, but I can't for the life of me figure out what I could have done wrong, if anything.
I cant recall if these sounds were there when i first bought the car, probably because i have the radio on most times. I think the buzzing sounds were present in the last month at least.
After i start up my car and even after idling for a while, i hear a buzzing sound coming from the engine. It gets louder when I accelerate. When I let go of the gas, the buzzing sound lags for a few seconds and then quiets down a little bit, but still can hear it in the background.
I lifted the hood up to listen more closely. I am not totally sure, but i think i can also hear a faint hissing sound ( sounds like leaking air?). I cant pinpoint where it is, but its around the engine.
I also notice that when I am idle, the MPG number in the dashboard is dropping fairly quickly. Like 0.1 mpg every 20 seconds. This is new and started today. I last drove it 4 days ago and didn't notice it happening then and i watch the mpg very closely every time i drive. Could there possibly be some gas leak?
My 2010 Prius V just past the 24000km mark. I have a buzzing noise coming from the engine bay during startup. It happens when the interior fan is on. You can hear it clearly after you start the car, during the silence of the "boot up", before the ICE kicks in. I can't be sure if it continues to buzz after that because the sound of the ICE drowns it out. However, If I shut off the fan during the boot up, the buzz disappears. Finally, if I leave the fan off and start the car, there is no buzz.
During a recent oil change, a hybrid technician claims that this is normal. It used to happen infrequently but now it is consistent, so if it was normal, I should have heard it when the car was new.
I have a 2010 model and have had this issue for the past year. When I open the drivers door I get an immediate buzzzzz sound from the engine that can last 10 to 30 seconds or so. What is this???
I believe it is somehow associated with ignition issues This last winter (in Texas) I have had to push the start button sometimes several times before the engine would startup. I brought it into the dealer and left it overnight. Of course there were no problems when they started it the next day. Anyway, I have noticed a worsening of startup problems (none in the summer) along with an increase in this buzzzzz sound. Is it just my imagination?
MY Ls460 2010 AWD is making annoying ticking noise since I bought it 2 months ago ( 76k milage ) , it seems that the sound is mainly coming under the hood on right front fender side .
View 6 RepliesThe last two mornings I have gone into my garage and have heard a faint "buzzing" noise that seems to be coming from the rear of 2013 RX350. Given the location of the noise, my first inclination was that it was possibly the fuel pump running a cycle for some reason. But when I heard it for the second day in a row, I figured it would be wise to ask if this is normal or something I should take up with the dealer?

Its also difficult to start now. It has to swing for 10 secs before the engine fires. What it could be?
View 4 RepliesThere is a constant buzzing/clicking sound that seems to be coming from my navigation in the dash. It makes the noise all the time, not just at random times. It sounds as if the nav is trying to load something constantly? It is really strange, also sounds like a computer when you first start it up with the clicking and buzzing.

View 15 RepliesI had a clutch replacement done on my 2004 Honda CRV EX at a local shop. The replacement was taking longer than anticipated because of rust accumulation. After I was told the replacement was near completed I received a phone call that there was a buzzing sound coming from the transmission that warranted taking out the transmission a second time to investigate the internal components and potential rebuild. Prior to the replacement being done I have never heard this sound and was told my the tow truck driver he hadn't heard the sound either.
I had another transmission specialist look at the vehicle and he pointed out that the gear fluid was near empty, and that there were fresh welds directly above the point where the buzzing sound was loudest. He concluded they may have dropped the transmission or potentially dropped something within the transmission while making a weld.Three separate transmission specialists have said it is very likely the result of the clutch replacement, and potentially the pilot or throw out bearings. How I should approach this issue as I have already invested $1500 in labor and clutch replacement and would like to avoid breaking the bank.
I just came back from a long weekend and left my 2010 GTI in the garage at home. When I returned the battery was 100% dead. Got a friend to jump it and it refused to start for about 30 minutes. Finally it grudgingly turned over and eventually started. So I drove it around for an hour, came home, turned it off and tried to start it - to see if it had charged at all. Again it turned over very slowly, and eventually started up. Seems very strange that it's so slow to charge.
So now I have it on a trickle charger and with the engine off I noticed a weird humming/buzzing sound. It seems to be coming from underneath, somewhere in front/near the right rear wheel. I waited 30 minutes to see if it would turn off once the car cooled. But it's still running. I've never heard that before and no wonder the battery died. What's going on? This is a mystery.
I am not sure if this is an ignition or electrical problem. I have noticed that recently when I turn the car off, I am getting a buzzing/motor/whoosh type of sound coming from the ignition. I have never noticed this before, and I am not sure what might be causing this? The car is a 2007 Acura TSX with 111k miles on it. The car starts fine and turns off fine.
Is this something I need the dealer to look at, or is this no big deal? What was it? I am not be able to "duplicate it".
Also, it ONLY makes this sound when you turn the car off, not if you just turn the key to the pre-start position, and then turn it off.
My rear right speaker buzzes when sound comes out...I thought it happened mainly in cold weather but I think it may be due to the fact that the door keeps closing and opening...
View 7 RepliesSo I'm working on a customers car, its a 2001 Passat, there is a buzzing sound that started when she would use her left turn signal, and now the sound wont stop, the only way to make it stop is to turn the car off, turn the blinker on, or the flashers. I'm thinking the Turn signal switch inside the steering area.
View 2 RepliesOK, car has 94K miles, never had anything done to it, and the timing belt stripped out a bunch of teeth and bent the valves, you know the usual deal.
Pulled the engine apart, and order a head gasket set and scored a low miles head from a salvage yard. I was told the engine it came from was running fine but had a damaged timing cover so they parted out the engine, when i got the head the timing belt gear was bent and cracked, but i couldn't see any other damage and all looked good so i put it all in, and after having some trouble getting good info on where the timing marks are suppose to go i got it all back together and went to fire it up, start and die a couple times, i figured it was the fuel system re-priming itself, car starts and is running rough, i give it a few small revs and above about 2K it seems to run fine, but has def misfires at idle.
While i was looking around the engine bay checking over stuff i can hear a definite buzzing sound coming from the injectors, which i can tell you isn't normal, and is causing my problem i believe. The injector plugs are pretty straight forward, so im pretty sure i have them in the right spots.
The CEL came on, and i plugged in my code reader but was unable to connect to the ECM for some reason. Are these cars can bus?
I recently replaced the fuel pump and afterward started noticing a buzzing/whining sound coming from under the hood. The noise goes away when I remove the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator and after the car has been driven for 1/2 to 1 hour. Sometimes it comes back, sometime not, but it always is there at a cold start. Had the shop take a look and they said the fuel pump is ok and recommended replacing the fuel pressure regulator. I did but that but it did not solve it. I suppose I should check the fuel pressure. 2000 Silverado 5.3L ...

View 13 RepliesMy car had been sitting in the garage for over 5 hours after short drive this morning. I went into the garage ( without the FOB ) and heard a strange buzzing sound. After walking around I determined it was coming from underneath the rear of the prius. I opened a couple of doors and the hatch and the sound was definitely exterior not interior and continuous.
I don't know how long this had been going on but it was continuous for at least four minutes. I thought the best thing to do would be to take the car for a short spin. I went inside the house to get the FOB and returned to the garage - the noise was still there? I approached the right rear bumper to get a better listen and it stopped suddenly. I guess the difference was the proximity of the FOB?
My '13 Prius Four has started to make a really annoying buzzing sound from the rear while driving. It can be heard inside the car but seems to be louder for passengers in the rear.
