I've recently started a job with a long commute and I've started listening to audiobooks on CD. What is the best way to pause the recording when you turn off the car? If I take the CD out, it loses my place in the book. I'm not sure if it's safe to just shut the car off and leave the CD inside the player. Or if I should pause it and turn it off?

View 2 RepliesSituation: In automatic, coming off say a highway in the 30 to 50 km's (20 mph) range and then trying to accelerate quickly but there is a 1-2 second pause/delay/lag before it kicks in and launches.
It is not 100% consistent but it happens often enough to bother me.
Experience with this issue? What is the cause and is there a fix?
I have a 2013 GS Luxury. My wife's work number has an extension associated with it and I need the stored phone number to have a few second pause between the dialing of the phone number's 10 digits and then dialing the 2-digit extension.
Although the number that is transferred from the phone contains a pause (and it works when dialed directly from the phone), when I dial from the number stored in the NAV system the pause does not work. Is there a special character that the system recognizes as a pause or other way to program in a "pause"?
I have just become a proud owner of a gs450h 2006. So far i love it. Just one thing i wanna clear up for peace of mind. It is a cvt gearbox and when i floor it there is a brief pause in power at 70mph ish. Then it flies full power the kw gauge goes all way but a lot faster than the acceleration previous to the flat spot. Its like it changes gear at 70 and hits a massive powerband but id like that to be instant and sooner.
Hybrid passed all tests last week at lexus.
When I go through a tunnel or under a bridge with my headlights on the Auto setting the lights will turn on, but wont turn themselves back off when it is no longer dark.

Something that would record and retain the last 24hrs of video would be nice. Just to serve as evidence if an accident occurs and the cause is disputed.
View 1 RepliesI have received a code twice during really cold weather and I think it is P0125. This says that the cylinder head temp. sensor is recording too low of operating temperature. The question is two fold. What happens if you do not change it? Second I have read that you have to remove the whole intake manifold to replace it. Any easier way to replace it than removing the whole intake manifold? I have looked for the darn thing and can not even see where it is located.

View 14 RepliesI listen to AM radio for traffic reports and local news. It constantly fades between HD and normal, and that is very annoying.
If I turn off HD, it automatically returns to HD if I listen to a text message, take a phone call, or change the radio station.
Is there anyway to turn off HD and keep it off, even if it is for short trips?
I remember when I was turning on my AC, outside air was closed and when I was turning it off it was switching to recirculated air mode. Now its not functioning like that.
View 8 RepliesYou arrive at your destination and you are in the middle of listening to a hot news item or a song on the radio. It may be a while before this may finish and so you want to SHUT OFF the engine only and stop idling, but don't want to shut the rest of the electronics off.
So, yes you can do this by turning the engine off and then pressing the start button without placing the foot on the brake paddle. But by then you have lost so much important information streaming down from the radio (as it shuts off when you stop the engine).
So I was wondering if there is a way to go from ENGINE ON mode to just ACCESSORIES only mode without 1st stopping engine, then pressing start button.
I need locating a wiring diagram for the GX 460 to accomplish the following.
(The wire must be connected to a point that is at ground voltage when the turn signal is ON. You must find a point that is ground when the turn signals are on to make the unit work.)
Sometimes when carrying long lumber it is just necessary to leave the rear window open. But the warning beep is obnoxious. Is there a way to disable this?

View 4 RepliesI just bought a ceritifed pre-owned 2010 RX 450h. I love it, but a couple of questions as I get to know the car.
1) The rain sensor seems to not work. I set the wipers to what on another car would be "intermittent" but the wipers never come on. Am I missing something, am I a dummy? Or should I just get the dealer to replace the sensor?
2) Any way to turn off the seatbelt warning chime?
Having problems with gx 460 in turns or fast lane changes on the freeway. I'm worried about the stability and tipping over since the GX seems higher and skinnier than other SUVs in its class.
View 10 RepliesOut of curiosity, why would to turn off the Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS)? There is an option on my panel menu to do so; I just can't think of a situation where I would want to. Why Lexus makes this option available, other than they can? Otherwise, it just takes up space in my scrolling menu; how 'bout they replace that with the outside temp displayed?
