My dealer says the windshield on my 2012 RX 350, which has < 8k miles, has to be replaced in order to fix the auto rain sensing function. Even though it is covered under warranty I'm confused and not happy with this. What is in the windshield that causes the problem? Could it just be the control sensor behind the rear view mirror, which they detached in their troubleshooting?
View 9 RepliesSo over the past week of driving my new 2011 RX350 I have had the auto wipers set to on so when/if it rains they automatically come on. However at random times when there is no rain the wipers come alive an make a sweep across the windshield.
View 14 RepliesI dropped off my 2015 RX450h at the dealership yesterday because the rain sensing wipers no longer sensed rain. Late in the afternoon the service writer called and told me that they ordered a new windshield because the sensor is part of the windshield?
Sounds strange. I've heard that some aftermarket windshields were interfering with sensor's ability to sense but never an OEM windshield.
Ever since I have mounted my EZ-Pass transponder my rain-sensing wipers do not work properly. The transponder is attached to the windshield with two double-sticky pieces of velcro behind the rearview mirror. Basically the wipers now only work on the lowest setting. On medium and high they constantly run even with clean dry windshield.
Is there a known good way to mount the transponder so it doesn't affect the rain sensor?
My 2004 Lexus RX 330 has the rain sensor on the upper inside of my windshield by the mirror. There is a blue button on this sensor, what is that button for, what does it do?

Short of turning off the engine when the wiper is in the down position, how it supposed to be accesse?

View 1 RepliesHaving problem adjusting the rain sensing wipers? They're either going too fast or they won't stop when the windshield is dry and not getting wet. I hate these rain sensing wipers. My Audi A4 has several adjustments in the intermittent mode and it works great. Why VW couldn't stick with that I'll never know.

They are set on Auto and I set the setting to the far right + setting.
My question is this the right way to get them to come on quicker in the fog and rain?
Our rain sensing wiper has been working flawlessly since new. However, it decided to stop working two days ago. It just goes constant speed now.
View 17 RepliesMy '09 Platinum has rain-sensing wipers, and I do not like them at all. They are always going to high-speed when it's not raining that hard or they don't do anything at all when there's a mist that needs cleaned off.
The wiper stick has HIGH, LOW, and various INTERMITTENT settings. Any of the INTERMITTENT settings are AUTO for me. I'm constantly messing with it to get the wipers to act correctly. I just want to turn them off. How can it be done?
I did not find a solution to my 2011 Elantra GLS's windshield fogging up when it is raining. Other vehicles I owned would clear the foggy windscreen by simply turning the fan on the windshield setting. No A/C necessary.
However, when the Elantra fogs up while driving in the rain, it requires that I put the A/C on (not in recirc mode) to clear the glass. After it clears, I shut-off the A/C to conserve fuel, but after 30 secs or so, it begins to fog up again.
There is no apparent water in the car, or wet floormats, so I'm wondering what could cause this?
My 330 had a new windshield installed prior to purchase and shortly after, the rain sensor module came loose. Cleaned things up and epoxied bracket in place, and about a year later it came loose again. Seems temperature related - a hot sunny day and the epoxy loses adhesion. I'm ready to try again but at odds as to what adhesive to use. Any long term successes out there?
View 5 RepliesMy auto windshield wiper function has become real sensitive...When driving in the lightest rain or even mist, my wipers start intermittently, then go faster and faster until they are going steadily, and in medium-light rain, often go to high speed. They never did this in the past, this has recently started. I turn them off, then back on and the process repeats. The auto wiper was always wonderful in the past, but not now.
Is there some kind of adjustment for this problem? Is my windshield sensor going bad?
Is it possible to disable the speed sensing autolock feature on the Accent?

The nozzles on the Elantra appear to be entirely plastic unlike the conventional ball which I can poke a needle in to adjust it. I ran the hand under the cowl cover and could not feel any kind of adjustment mechanism. How to adjust the nozzles to aim higher.
View 27 RepliesI was driving in a heavy rain on Saturday and all of the sudden the proximity sensor just went off without anything even close proximity then the left blinker just went off by itself. I cut off the engine then restart couple of time but that didn't work. After 3 hours in the dealer, the mechanic still couldn't figure it out, they said they needed more time to trace the source of the problem. Electrical problem on my 13 RX350 FSport....
View 9 RepliesHad problem with downshifting and up shifting quickly on its own and then engine light came on. 24,400 mi. Code P0713 Trans Temp Sensor "A" Circuit Input. They replaced it in a few hours and we will see how it goes. Had also had a problem of acceleration by its self when we first bought it and the gas mileage not being to par. Of course they said they haven't heard of that and they did an update/flash and haven't had that problem again, also had a broke front axle.
View 4 RepliesI used to replace my LS430 cabin air filter myself. Now I have a 2012 LS460, and they have made the hatch door in the glove box motorized. I know to open the hatch, it has something to do with depressing the Fan button on the dash. But I don't know exactly what to press, if car should be running, or ignition simply On but not running, etc. What is the exact procedure that opens the little hatch in the glove box so I can replace the filter ? (And my primary reason for wanting to bring it to dealer is simply that it took me 5 minutes to do it on my LS430, vs MUCH longer to go to my dealer.)

Why it is not working?
My IS has the feature where I can open all of the windows and the sunroof by holding the remote unlock button which has come in real handy during this extended heat wave in the Midwest. But, I can't find out whether or not this feature is on my 2012 LS 460.
