I need to replace my drivers seat because of a broken seat mount.
I found a used seat on eBay but there is a rip in the seat cushion. If I bought the seat, can if just swap the seat cushion with my old seat? If so, how difficult would that be to do?
Lately I've really been noticing these bars and sharp points being able to be felt through the seat cushion on the driver's seat. I had the dealership replace the seat cushion recently cos it was already deformed (< 2 years), and now I feel several bars through the cushion (along the seams in the seat cover). The bars were able to be felt before they replaced the cushion; I thought maybe replacing the cushion would fix this problem somehow. No luck.
To be specific, I feel these bars when sitting on the seat normally. It's getting annoying.
Passenger seat feels fine. I would be surprised if this is normal for the driver's seat, if so, *bad* seat design.
I feel an entire seat replacement is warranted perhaps. Car is still under warranty (3 years / 36K).
I want to remove the rear seat bottom cushion of a 2012 Camry L, to put on some seat covers. Do I just grasp the front center of the cushion and pull up, or will that break something?

View 1 RepliesElantra GT ... Most of the time I leave the right side rear seat folded down. Every once in a while I need to return it to the normal upright configuration. That goes fine, but then later when I try to fold the seat down again the cushion (the one that you sit on) gets stuck and I have a hard time folding the seat back down again. I yank on the strap, pulling forward, upward etc. and it doesn't do anything.
Eventually, and seemingly at random, the cushion pops loose and I can fold the seat down. I can't figure out where it is getting stuck. Can I lubricate the metal parts with silicone spray or Lemon Pledge or something (I wouldn't want to use anything greasy that would get on the seat cushions)? Yes, I read the owners manual and I am following the proper procedure for folding/unfolding the seat.
Yesterday, after lifting back my rear seat backrest (40% section) I found out that the seat cushion moved forward and now I just can't find a way to put it back into place.

After having two owners (first one '99-09, then me '09-present) climbing in and out over 11 years and 95,000 miles, the driver's seat has broken down on the left side near the reclining lever. Every time I go around a right turn, I feel like Im going to tip over against the driver's door. Is there a replacement cushion for these Explorers?
View 3 RepliesThe car is 3 months old, and I looked over the other day to see a bluish tint on the edge closest to the door of the front passenger seat. When I bought the car the finance lady warned me that blue jeans could leach into the seats but I thought she was just trying to scare me into buying a coating for the seats, which I didn't buy. I haven't tried to clean it yet.
View 6 RepliesThe leather driver's side armrest, the one that you're able to adjust for driver's right arm, is peeling. The leather looks to have a treatment on it and is peeling off like a bad sunburn. The leather underneath is dull looking and i need to have it recovered. My gx is blizzard pearl and the interior is caramel color or ecru. It just looks awful and i keep it folded up so I don't have to look at it but I am not being able to rest my arm.
View 1 RepliesThe rear of the drivers side front seat in my car has come undone! How that happened, but the top two clips are busted, and it's hanging off the back of the seat, still attached by the bottom two clips. Looks like some plastic snaps on the top have broken.

My drivers side seat is loose as in it rocks back and forward when I accelerate or brake. I have checked all 4 bolts they are all tight. I can't explain what i see (perhaps I can take a picture or video) but something under the seat looks irregular as in it's moving and shouldn't be. I have ECP but Lexus wants to charge $140 just to look and see if it's covered under warranty.

View 1 RepliesI thought i would waste my weekend trying to put my katzkin interior in, its proving to be a lot harder than i thought. I've been searching this but haven't been able to find the details on how to take the bottom of the backseat out. its hinged and folds forward, but i don't see any screws to take it out. this is obviously different from a sedan. there is a plaistic cover over the hinge and there are no screws under there either. this is a 1999 wagon. also where do I get this 12 point torx to dismantle the front seats? i just took the front seat out and took it half apart only to put it all back together again.....

View 5 RepliesI have a 2007 and lately the driver's side headlight goes out sometimes when I'm driving. If I turn the lights off, and then back on, it will light up again and stay lit. Sometimes it will work for weeks and then all of a sudden it will go out. So I'm thinking of replacing the bulb(s)
Are the headlight bulbs in the 2007 SC regular light bulbs that I can purchase at a local automotive store?
