My 330 had a new windshield installed prior to purchase and shortly after, the rain sensor module came loose. Cleaned things up and epoxied bracket in place, and about a year later it came loose again. Seems temperature related - a hot sunny day and the epoxy loses adhesion. I'm ready to try again but at odds as to what adhesive to use. Any long term successes out there?
View 5 RepliesMy auto windshield wiper function has become real sensitive...When driving in the lightest rain or even mist, my wipers start intermittently, then go faster and faster until they are going steadily, and in medium-light rain, often go to high speed. They never did this in the past, this has recently started. I turn them off, then back on and the process repeats. The auto wiper was always wonderful in the past, but not now.
Is there some kind of adjustment for this problem? Is my windshield sensor going bad?
So over the past week of driving my new 2011 RX350 I have had the auto wipers set to on so when/if it rains they automatically come on. However at random times when there is no rain the wipers come alive an make a sweep across the windshield.
View 14 RepliesMy dealer says the windshield on my 2012 RX 350, which has < 8k miles, has to be replaced in order to fix the auto rain sensing function. Even though it is covered under warranty I'm confused and not happy with this. What is in the windshield that causes the problem? Could it just be the control sensor behind the rear view mirror, which they detached in their troubleshooting?
View 9 RepliesI was driving in a heavy rain on Saturday and all of the sudden the proximity sensor just went off without anything even close proximity then the left blinker just went off by itself. I cut off the engine then restart couple of time but that didn't work. After 3 hours in the dealer, the mechanic still couldn't figure it out, they said they needed more time to trace the source of the problem. Electrical problem on my 13 RX350 FSport....
View 9 RepliesAfter a rough winter here in NJ there are a ton of pot holes and I think I may have jolted loose the rear view mirror. It now shakes so bad I can't even look at it. It makes me dizzy. It seems like it is loose where it connects to the windshield, not where the actual mirror connects. I took off the smaller of the two covers but didn't see anything I could tighten. It also doesn't appear that the actual mirror comes apart. I have to point it away from me at night, it's like a strobe light!
View 4 Replieshave a 96 celica gt convertible - back window has come loose (have it duct taped) - is it possible i could glue it back myself? so expensive to get a new curtain installed! no one will glue it.also, other problems: antenna motor stopped, ti subsequently broke off. need new top motors. trunk leaks horribly after a rain, coming from the front, behind the license plate or taillights, accumulated under the spare tire about 3 inches of water.
View 3 RepliesI did not find a solution to my 2011 Elantra GLS's windshield fogging up when it is raining. Other vehicles I owned would clear the foggy windscreen by simply turning the fan on the windshield setting. No A/C necessary.
However, when the Elantra fogs up while driving in the rain, it requires that I put the A/C on (not in recirc mode) to clear the glass. After it clears, I shut-off the A/C to conserve fuel, but after 30 secs or so, it begins to fog up again.
There is no apparent water in the car, or wet floormats, so I'm wondering what could cause this?
It's fine when it's dry...is it usually just the serpentine belt? Is this a common issue? Just want to make sure before i replace it.
View 6 RepliesX2 nights ago at 11:45pm I was driving home from a friends house with my gf and were going about 65 on the highway and it's lightly raining, then all of a sudden my headlights, windsheld wipers, turnsignals, my ac/fans all just shut off so I had to pull over right away. After sitting there for about 15 mintues I figure out my high beams still work but only if I hold them on(clicking it on doesn't work. So I drive home and the next day check all the fuses in the drivers door and they r all fine. Everything else works in the car but the stuff stated above. My car was reposesd about a year ago when I lost my job and they put this thing I have to enter a code every month, it messed my windsheld wipers and turn signals up before but not anything else! But it still works and the other stuff doesn't, and behind the dash it sounded like crackling and smelt like burning electric right before it shut off.
View 6 RepliesThe A pillar on the driver side started leaking during a heavy rain. The water leak started where there is a seam on the A pillar. My RX stays outside and I would not surprised if a vent tube or hole has clogged up and thus made the water back up instead of draining but that is just a guess.

View 2 RepliesHonda Civic 2008. Daughter sends att'd photo of passenger side, lower portion. (I will not see the real thing until Wednesday evening.) Does this need fixed, or can we just snip it off? (I can hope, can't I?). Who fixes it, glass shop or body shop? Is this a typical failure, or should we be concerned about vandalism or other malice? (What could they have been trying to get at? But the sharp bends look unnatural.)
View 18 Replies So far i haven't been able to find a lot of solid info on this rain sensor. Here's what i know:
My sensor indeed works, if i remove it and move my fingers the wipers will speed up/slow down accordingly. It looks like the window has been replaced and a very "shotty" job was done replacing the sensor/rearview mirror.
There was extra adhesive around the sensor, i removed that and cleaned it up, also cleaned up the gel over the sensor. Reinstalled everything, still cannot get it to work.
If i have just the sensor on the windshield, it semi-works, but when i put the mirror back on, it doesnt work at all.
I know the sensor is good, i get the fastest wiper settings. Relay #192 is good.
My best guess:The sensor is going bad, or the gel isn't making a good enough contact with the windshield allowing it to "detect" the rain hitting it. You can tell the gel isn't in the best of shape and I am pretty sure that's the culprit.
Where to locate a rain sensor? or the Gel, or if any gel can be used, I am going to try and find something i can "substitute" in place of the gel thats on it.
My 2006 Gx470 Sport (KDSS), with 82k miles, has a clunk/loose suspension feeling when going over potholes. It doesn't happen when going over speed bumps or anything other then a pothole.
I have experienced at each corner of the suspension, so it isn't just one corner that is bad. So if for example I drive over a pothole on the driver side, I feel the clunk on the driver front wheel as it goes into the pothole, and then again as the rear driver tire goes into the pothole. The same thing happens if I drove over a pothole on the passenger side as well.
Since it happens at all 4 corners, I am wondering if it may be something wrong with the Xreas Suspension, or KDSS.
Also, this is the first vehicle I have driven with KDSS, so maybe this is a normal feeling of that system. Everything else with the suspension feels normal.
Any way to connect the windows to roll up if the rain sensor detects rain drops? Just thinking that this would be a nice cool feature to have if there is a way to do it.

I was trying to replace the bulbs in the running board and the first bulb I tried to replace when reinserting the bulb came loose and fell in the housing.
Is there anyway to remove the running board light assembly or how to get the bulb out of there?
Hearing a loose heat shield like rattle when hitting bumps...checked everything underneath , can't find anything loose..? 09 GX-470 56K miles
View 11 RepliesI was driving my mother's 05 GX (non-kdss suspension).
The steering seems to be quite loose at speeds above 100kph (60mph).
There is also a vibration at these speeds (likely relating to balance).
How tight is your steering?
If alignment/balance doesn't fix things, what other parts might be the culprit?
