Maintenance light is Flashing on and off after initial startup, could it be that its trying to tell me its time to change oil or could it be something else. It is time to change my oil based on the mileage that it was last changed.
View 3 RepliesSo I had a random issue today. I went to start my car this evening, and it wouldn't start. The lights on the dashboard (warning, maintenance, etc.) lit up, and the headlights and interior lights were extremely dim. Figured it was an issue with the battery. Used my husband's car to run errands and came back about an hour later. We decided to try starting the car again, and it turned on, headlights and interior lights were normal brightness, but the gas gauge is at one bar, which I know isn't possible because I have only put 166 miles on this tank of gas. I reset the gauge at each fill-up so I can track how my mileage changes. The maintenance light is also still flashing. None of these were issues I had last night, so what could be causing all these problems? Can I fix it myself, or do I need to take it into my Toyota dealership?

I went through all of my Maintenance menu items and most of them arent set to begin with, but the ones that ARE set, still have 4000+ miles til the next service...
So just trying to find out if this is normal. This is my wife's car so I don't drive it every day. I started it up to pull out of the garage and noticed the maint Req'd light blinking, it blinked about five times and turned off. Does it mean anything? if so, what? Just rolled over 100K. We bought it in late january and all the PM was done just wondering if they reset the oil reminder or what.

I checked for any codes and there's nothing. My oil is a bit low, but not at the marker. My next due for an oil change says 195,300ish. I've never seen it flash before.
My daughter has a 2011 corolla and when she first cranks the car the maintenance required light flashes a couple of times and goes out. I think last time I changed her oil, it was steady on. What is causing it to flash?

View 14 RepliesA couple of days ago the TPMS light started flashing on my 2004 GX. This morning I took it to a trusted tire shop. They checked each sensor, including the spare, and found they were all sending a signal. At 11 years old, and they are original as far as I know (I've owned it about 7 years), the tech said the signal may be too weak for the ECU to pick up. He didn't want to start changing sensors in the event it is an ECU issue. Not sure what to do for now, other than leave it alone. Is there a way to confirm the ECU is good? Do the scanners tell how strong the signal is?
View 14 RepliesI know how to activate the DAC, read the manual, it says shift to L, put in D, and press the DAC button. Keep it under 15 MPH and when you let go of the brake and gas it will maintain the speed, by engine breaking and breaking.
Here is the problem, followed the directions and the DAC light keeps flashing and the truck speed keeps on climbing no slowing down.
What should I look for? 2004 GX.
Picked up this one owner 2003 with 120k miles, last week! I couldn't be happier with the build quality, and comfort. Its one solid truck! Its by far the nicest most luxurious vehicle my family has ever owned.
There is a flashing "off" light under the height control display on the dash. The height control says it is in neutral however the truck is currently sitting at 3ft from fender to road. I'm going through the owners manual and hopefully will find a way to get this corrected.
The truck will be taken to Lexus here in Dublin, OH on Saturday for a full inspection and fresh fluids.
2005 GX470... Long time Toyota owner, first time Lexus with tpms. Light is flashing meaning a bad sensor from what I've read. Lexus wants $ to check and repair one wheel. Discount tire had a hand held checker and it found two bad sensors.

View 7 RepliesLast week while on the highway I noticed my AC was not blowing cold. It was set to the lowest temperature and at the lowest fan setting. The air had gone from cold to room temperature and the AC button light was flashing/blinking.
I pressed the button, it lit up solid and it started blowing cold again. Two minutes later the air went back to room temperature and the light was flashing again.
It worked fine for a few days and then it happened again Saturday. I noticed the air wasn't coming out cold and see that the AC button is blinking. I tap it solid and it starts blowing cold again only this time it stayed cold for the rest of the 20 minute drive. What could be going on here?
Right now my car is approaching 4K miles.. but in a couple of weeks my wife will be taking a long trip that will easily put her over the 5K mile mark, and If I was told correctly, that means the "maintenance" light will come on.... is there a way I can reset that before she leaves, or at least a way I can tell her how to reset it when it comes on while she's out of town.. Kinda silly to have the maintenance light come on every 5K when they suggest 10K oil changes.
