My buddy just got himself an 07 Rx350 and his cargo door opens automatically when you press on the rubber thing above the license plate, while mine 04 Rx330 doesn't do it. It just unlatches the door, but doesn't open it.

View 14 RepliesEvery so often my rear cargo door handle is impossible to open. I can hear the lock mechanism lock/unlock but the handle won't compress to open the door. I had a mechanic get in it the other day by removing the inside panel. He states I need a new cable assembly. I have ordered one using our discount from Sewell. I have since come across a TSB about the actuator being an issue. I'm assuming my mechanic would know the difference. He said the cable is stretched and it makes the handle travel too far to engage. I'll try the cable at $35 delivered before the whole mechanism for $250 delivered.

Does this actuator require a fuse ? how do i know if the fuel door actuator is bad?
I just bought an used 2010 RX350. It has a button on the key that automatically opens the trunk, a button on the left of the drivers side that automatically opens the trunk and the button on the trunk that automatically closes it (so you don't manually close it). But after I bought it, I noticed that when I push the button on the underside of the trunk it does NOT automatically open.

View 1 RepliesThe gas door open and closes for the most part but sometimes I found the door will pop open when the car is parked Or while driving.. I heard something about the hood cable can interfere with it, if that is even possible?
The gas door lever seems very sensitive, I went to pull this lever just a tiny amount and the plunger will release the door, not sure if this what's happening maybe the cable so taut and I hit a bump the door opens.
I checked the fuel door at first I thought someone was trying to pry it open, but doesn't seem to have been messed with, there are some paint rubbing off on the front edge of the door when it is opened, but alignment and gap seems fine.
The plunger doesn't seem to have be centered all that well with the latch of the door. I am not sure if there is some adjustment to the plungers location?
When opening Power Rear Door , the door will open then immediately close . After going through this initial opening, the second attempt will open properly & close only when Power Door Button is depressed. Recently had some engine work done by Dealer & wondering if door settings may have been disturbed. 2005 RX330
View 11 RepliesAfter owning the truck for a little over a year I figure it's time to fix the little stuff staring off with the rear door. When pressing any of the 3 buttons to open/close it I get it to work 50% of the time. That being said, I can't pinpoint a specific bad part.
View 14 RepliesI changed the actuator motor on the DS passenger door. Now the door does not open. The electronic lock moves, locks and unlocks but the door does not open from inside or outside.
After a few tries the lock tab chatters but the door still does not open. What could be wrong? As far as i know i put it back together, like i took it out.
How to take the panel off from inside then i can atleast get to the two wires that go to the lock and see if i can open the door to take the actuator out once again.

View 2 RepliesFirst problem is, for the first 6 months or so I had my 08 460, the headlights would automatically turn off when I opened the door, now it doesn't. I have to manually click back the light switch inside. It's more annoying because I'm used to just leaving the car and they turn off when opening the door so I didn't notice they were on when I left the car during the day only to come back hours later to a dead car. Needed a jump. Not sure if there a way to change the settings for this that I might have changed?
Second issue is ever since I got my car every single time I start my car my mirrors are in a different position, they're almost always way too high so I can't see cars in the lanes and end up readjusting them while I'm driving which becomes annoying when you have to do that every day, I've set the mirror settings on my memory for all 3 settings, and if I hit memory before driving they'll go to that, so I don't know why they change. The mirrors function properly with the controls so they're not broken.
I just purchased my first Lexus (very exciting!) But one puzzling issue I've noticed and not sure what the problem is, if it's me or my vehicle. The back cargo cover wont' stay closed. It keeps popping out/up and opening. Quite annoying already and I only had it a few days. Subsequently, it's not hiding a thing in the back.
View 4 RepliesWhen approaching the car from any direction, if I am within a couple of feet of a door, the door automatically unlocks. It's wicked cool and I love that it does this but....I don't think it's supposed to.
I only have the only FOB that works (I have another but either the battery is dead or the fob is dead) so I can't test to see if it does it with both.
,I looked through the owners manual, and searched Google but I don't see anything saying this is something that is supposed to happen. The doors don't lock automatically, and if I press the door button to lock the car it doesn't unlock again. It only seems to unlock if I walk up to it locked and stand there for a few seconds.
Water intrusion problem in the cargo area of the GX? I was getting ready to wash my GX and as I was pulling out my Weather tech cargo liner... I discovered that it was completely wet underneath and the whole rear carpet was damp and slightly musty smelling. I have recently driven through two very heavy rains...but nonetheless the Lexus should be watertight... Is this a known issue? Is there an area where it is possible for water to come in through the rear floor?
View 14 RepliesNow that I have the audio upgraded in my LS, we have uncovered a slight issue with the drivers rear door. The installers will work with me, but I thought there is so much knowledge up here, why not ask.
Everything else on the vehicle works perfect, its just this one door as if all the power is off or disconnected.(ACC or ON power it functions fine) I have checked the fuses under the driver side and the ones in the trunk, they are all fine and we took the front driver door apart to make sure any connections were good. everything seems secure, we even looked over the ECU in the door to make sure it didn't seem fried or anything, all functions on front and passenger doors are perfect.
Here are the symptoms: passenger rear door light wont come on with the door open unless the ACC is on. the other 3 turn on, with or without ACC.
The door lock actuator from the outside on this door wont lock the doors or with the sensing when you approach with the fob and grab the handle (as in the lights there wont light up).
The door closer that finishes off the door being slightly open wont grab and pull it in.
The trunk lights wont come on and there is no fuse or connection issue we can see. Its puzzling.
My 04' FX4 rear door locks hesitate to open with the key fob or the door switch. I can get them to open sometimes but not every time. Why this is happening?
View 6 RepliesWhile replacing my rear cargo light, I seemed to have tripped a fuse and suddenly, cargo light + 4 door lights + dome lights stopped working.
Looked at the label on the fuse box cover, it's not obvious which fuse governs these, so I ended up testing ALL of the fuses (PITA), which are all good (used voltmeter to do the job). Everything else on the car works, power windows/locks for each door..
I need to locate the specs or blueprints of the rear cargo door hinges. Junkyards thus far, are not willing to sell just the hinges.
