Aug 11, 2015
SO all three lights came on and wouldn't go away.
Ran a scanner for code and got p0430.
Took it dealership for estimate or fix.
Go figure : code summary: Causes.
Reported fixes or Causes: for code p0430
- catalytic converter has failed.
- Air fuel ratio sensor
- Bank 2 cat converter
- Bank 2 (A/F) ratio sensor
- Oxygen 02 sensor
- downstream Oxygen 02 sensor
- Exhaust pipe
- Mass Air flow sensor
So I am waiting thinking ok let be one of the above causes or fixes that is cheap.

Tonight, during a short ride, all the sudden the VSC TRAC, VSC OFF and Check Engine came on. Atfter home, I got the P0057 code from a OBDII scanner. The P0057 code indicates O2 sensor on bank 2 lower sensor. However, the interesting thing is I also lost the power seat adjustment on the seat memory. When I switched between L1 and L2 , the mirrors and the steering position changes and the seat did not. However, the adjustment buttons on the seat itself work correctly. I wonder if this problem associates with P0057?

My car is running great, no issues. I just changed the ignition coils, i was having a misfire. It was easier since i was changing the back to replace them all. My CEL and VSC went on and it is code P0430 bank 2. Before i spend a ton on a new catalytic converter i would like to change the o2 sensors. Problem is, I am not sure which ones to change or where to start. Is this even something i am able to do?

I got a P0430 code. My fuel trims are over 20% on both banks. A few days back I got a P0174 code but after disconnecting the battery it cleared and hasn't come back. Are these codes related in any way?
I'm a bit confused because I removed both cats and put O2 spacers in on both sides. I never get a P0420 code. Is one of the spacers not working correctly? I sent Toyota an email about the 430 code and they want to know which of the cats were removed - front or back. I didn't even there were front AND back ones! I thought there were just 2 side by side.
When I analyze the O2 readings on Torque they look pretty similar for both banks although I admit I'm not the best person to judge. Both rear O2 sensors are fairly new.
Unfortunately living in the middle of Africa I can't get hold of a smoke machine. I'd love to look for a vacuum leak, as from what I've read about the subject this might well be the cause of my problems.
One mechanic wants to put a new fuel pump in but I'd like to postpone that because it's a pricey item.

I bought my wife a 2005 Gx470 this past weekend. She has only driving it for the past 2 days. (still had gas in the old car, which is now for sale) She called me and said the VSC light off light came on and the Trac light was on. I did some quick searching and couldn't find anything definitive on what or why the lights came on for. She got gas yesterday, but probably only drove about 40 miles. I asked her if she tightened fuel cap until it clicked, she said she thinks...(crazy pregnant woman).
I'm trying to avoid a trip to a dealer on a car I bought 5 days ago. Also, how to reset the codes without a computer? I know my GMC truck, I just unhook the battery for 30mins or so and clears all codes. Hoping Lexus has a cheat too

All of these lights came on for no apparent reason. I check with computer based OBD reader, and I'm getting code P0049 (Turbo/Super Charger Turbine Overspeed). Weird code considering the lack of turbo or super charger on the GX. I cleared the codes, but all came back after a few miles of driving. What code P0049 is pointing to? My truck is 04 GX470 with 74,000 miles.

This is happening intermediately, maybe 1 out of every 5 starts.
Using the override I can shift just fine and the lights go away within 2-3 minutes. However, there's obviously something misaligned here. Search revealed potential brake switch issue (my tails and brake lights are fine so no issues there), lockout issue, or a park neutral switch.
So I took the panel apart and I am trying to isolate these potential issues, image attached, what I need to do next? I am more of a visual person so if someone can circle the part I need to disassemble or replace that would be most useful.

Just read that a clogged EGR valve is common and reduced performance and increases emissions. Need to clean this valve? Where is it located?? Just noticed tonight that there is not a lot of suction from my vacuum lines and I wondered if this is related. Plus I have a p0430.

[URL] ..... I had the P0430 code come up in my 06 GS300 AWD so i changed both passenger side 02 sensors. i followed the above instructions on changing the pre-cat sensor, changed my 02 sensor plugged everything back up and the P/S light came on and i lost power steering. I unplugged and checked everything at least 10 times until i finally gave up and gave it to lexus today. been about a week though driving without power steering. I know I did everything right and plugged everything snug. Did my P/S just decide to die?

Replaced my post cat drivers side O2 sensor tonight because I was getting zero voltage and a p0430 code. This is bank 2 sensor 1.
But I'm still reading zero voltage!! How could I still be getting zero voltage?? I checked the connections and they are firm. Checked every single fuse in car.
After my recent accident, the center console lights don't illuminate. My nav door doesn't close too. Could these all be related?? The connector for the O2 sensor is right next to the console, so maybe there is a loose connection or plug or perhaps a stray ground?? I do have wires all over the place in under the shifter bezel from aftermarket stuff..

08 RX350 with ~100K miles. Two weeks ago the Check Engine/TRAC light were on, VSC light blinks, so I tightened the gas cap, and pull the negative and cleared the code. Hoping this is just a gas cap issue.
2 weeks later all those lights are back again, so my mechanic pulled the code and came up with P0128. He told me it should be the problem with the Coolant Temperature Sensor. The water pump, thermostat was replaced last year and coolant level is OK. No issue with coolant temperature and the car drives like normal. My mechanic cleared the code and told me to drive it again until the lights come back and he will pull the code again.

At any rate, Scan at the store brought up P2101 throttle actuator control motor circuit range/performance. Car has been stalling occasionally while idling. EPC and trac control lights will come one. Including an exclamation point in the cruise control area. Restart and drive and the lights will go off and it will act normal. It is, however, starting to becoming a regular thing.
I have had the TB calibrated several times when the coil recall was done because it was giving a similar code. Apparently, they didn't set them when the car was warm and they would "pop up" when I got to temp. Haven't had this problem for several months and it never stalled before.
I'm hoping this isn't as bad as I have read about the TB, but I'm guessing it needs replaced.

I have an '04 F150 with a P0430 code. Not sure where to start, I have read that it could be numerous things so I thought I should start knocking them off the list one at a time. Thought I would start with the cats. 2004 F150, 4x4, 5.4L, 126,000 miles ...

This is a new phenomenon for me and from what I have read it could be the emissions system, gas cap or Catalytic. Clearing the codes only brings the lights back on when I put the car in drive or reverse. I know I can replace the gas cap (cheap) Replace the catalytic ( more expensive - since the exhaust has a rupture in the braid) and have the emissions sensor replaced (marginal cost)....

I had a check vsc, engine light, and trac light come on... I got the code checked and it returned P0300 only. That was three days ago (5 totals days of the lights being on) and today I start my car up, and all the lights are off.
I've only had my 2007 ES 350 for 5 months. I bought it used with 48k miles on it. I'd been advised it probably need new plugs since none of the coil codes hit... should I still be concerned? should I still replace the plugs although the lights have gone out?

CEL and VSC came on so i ran the diagnostic tool and got this msg :
P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank #2)
what could it be? The car performs fine, no MPG decrease, no performance impact..

All other lights work including Driving lights and High Beams.
I have checked fuses.

I've got an 01 Tundra with 170k and no trouble. And a 01 Highlander 4 cylinder with 330K and no trouble. We just added a 04 RX330 with 170k on it. It had an impeccable 15 page Lexus dealer history.
That said, I had the check engine, Trac off, and VSC light come on about a month after we bought it. I used my acton scanner cleared it out. Then I noticed the gas cap was loose so I attributed the issue to that.
Yesterday, the lights came back on again. I have not cleared the code this time. My scanner is showing a "P0420 Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 1" error. This car has a brand new cat installed by the Lexus dealer about 6 months ago.
I saw the buttons below the dash that say Trac off on them.

I have a 2007 RX350 and these lights come on intermittently --> TRAC & VSC LIGHTS ON. ALSO ABS, BRAKE LIGHT. When I turn the car off and on again they would disappear. So I cannot take it to Autozone (For code read) because the problem goes away when car is shut off/on.
I believe it is tied to the front brakes which are new but the steering wheel shakes when braking. I had the rotors turned a year ago and it seemed to have fixed the problem but now the shakes are back and so is the light problem.
This makes me think that there is a loose connection (Wire / connector) around the front brakes.

My 2009 Camry came down with the p0157 code which I looked up & is oxygen sensor circuit, low voltage bank 2 sensor 2. I'm trying to figure out which side this is(driver or passenger)? Also have a p0430 code-catalyst system efficiency below threshold.

My CEL came on and is throwing code P0430. Is it just an o2 sensor? if so which one primary or secondary?
