Lexus RX 2004-09 :: Antenna Snapped Off The Top?
Mar 31, 2016
The antenna snapped off the top of the RX330 and I assume the threaded part is still in there. I was thinking drilling a hole then maybe ezout the part that is stuck.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2004 GX470 and when driving on the freeway, the OEM roof rack bar snapped on the rear passenger side . [URL]......
View 5 RepliesThis is the third time or car has broken down in as many months. We had to replace the battery, starter and a battery cable. Now it seems like the accelerator cable has broken. Half way home the pedal kinda dropped and, whilewasn't flat to the floor, there was no resistance and jiggling it around caused no revving. The cruise control was still working fine, though. Bearing in mind how packed in everything is in the engine if this model, how much am I looking at for a fix? I just can't afford to keep pouring money into this car.
View 11 RepliesNew owner of a 2007 and 1st post. My antenna goes all the way up and then one of the sections retreats.
View 8 RepliesIs it possible to turn off antenna when CD is on?
View 7 RepliesNoticed the antenna did not go all the way down. It will also not go up. When I turn the radio off the motor grinds for few seconds but the antenna does not go all the way down. Mast problems? Any links how to fix it?
View 14 RepliesI have the 2014 RX350 and backed out of my garage with the door partially open.
It took off the Antenna "fin" which is on the top in the rear. There was a black piece underneath.
Need to determine if the part needs to be replaced or if I can just re-attach? I've included some pictures....
I recently got my UW F-Sport roof vinyl wrapped with gloss black. A local shop didn't want to wrap the antenna cover and recommended I get an obsidian black cover instead. So, I went to the dealership, ordered the part and now I have the cover. I looked up threads here on CL thinking it'd be an easy 5 minute DIY but apparently that's not the case. One member said he had to remove the interior c-pillar trims, part of the headliner etc. etc. Another said to just remove the rear seat light dome and someone else said the a dealership just prys it off. I tried the light dome, all I was able to get to were the bulbs.
View 4 RepliesRecently had my windshield replaced due to a stone chip and, as suspected, RES+ antenna could not properly be re-attached to inside of glass. Basically, the adhesive left on the antenna is barely attaching the thin antenna elements. And, one of the antenna elements is so thin there is no way you could neatly apply more adhesive and make it look reasonable.
I suspect, the only proper way to return to original condition is to replace the RES+ antenna assembly, too. I'm pretty sure the antenna on the glass is hardwired to the harness that goes all the way to the control module inside the dashboard, although I hope I'm wrong.
I'm trying to lower the rear part of the headliner so I can replace a broken antenna base. I've read the detailed photo instructions posted on this site. I've been able to dislodge all of the parts covering the rear section of the headliner, including the dome light, but I can't get enough clearance unless I also remove the two rear grip assists. I'm flummoxed trying to remove the grip covers and sub-assembly. The official instructions are confusing, and the dealer tech could not explain it in a way I could understand. See attached diagrams. I can't figure out how to use the screwdriver to release the grip covers.
View 1 RepliesThe bolt which hold the battery on the tray snapped when I change the battery. It's rusted and cold outside. Now half of the bolt stuck in the hole on the tray. Is there a simple fix?
View 4 RepliesJust had a front spring snap on my front drivers side on a road trip to the cottage. Found a place one hour away that can do new replacement front springs. The question that I have is that he can get F450 equivalent springs a lot cheaper than F350 springs. I do plan on adding an aftermarket bumper at some point in the future. What should I order?
View 14 RepliesWhen I set the parking brake last night, there was a loud pop and the pedal suddenly went soft to the floor and would not spring back when I pulled the release. The pedal doesn't spring back up when I pull the release lever, but I was able to pull it back up by hand to get the dash light to go out. That works, but without the tension from the brake cable the pedal works back down and the dash light comes on.
When I got out of the driver's seat, there was a cable laying on the ground right under the front door. The cable snapped right in front of a metal cable joiner. What is involved in fixing this?
I have a 95.5 Isuzu Rodeo, V6, 165k and am having a hell of a time finding parts. Apparently every issue I am having, so is everyone else by the looks of the salvage yards.
Interior door handles. All my doors went to shit within a month of each other. The black plastic piece that attaches the handle has snapped. In all of them.
Also, the tailgate will not disengage. I can press the button in front and you can hear it click, but not catch. The key will not open it either.
The back window motors are out or in the process of going out.
I have a 97 XJ6 and the driver side door handle snapped off. For a while I just reached in through the window to open the door from the inside handle. Then that broke too. Now I can't open the driver side door at all. I took the inside door panel off as far as i could thinking I could open the door from inside the panel, but the connection from thew inside handle (the cable) is broken back at the door lock. I can't get it open that way either.
View 6 RepliesThe other day I heard a massive snap as I pulled out of the driveway. I drove to work and everything handled fine but if I drove over a bump I noticed a horrible sound under my car. Smaller bumbs just caused a ting. My gfs dad looked at it and said everything was fine. I surely didn't believe that so I just jacked up my car and right away I noticed my spring snapped!
View 14 RepliesI bought a 02 accent base model hb 5 speed 109k miles for a winter car (have a mustang in garage.) It ran good until tonight when the timing belt snapped. I know this because while driving it made some ticking noises and then shut off and when you try to start it the noise that comes indicates no compression so the belt must've snapped and bent the valves.
View 3 RepliesI was replacing my spark plugs and one screw holding the ignition coil stripped while another snapped. I have change 3 plugs (the easy one) and could have more problems. I spent half a day trying to drill the screws out to no avail and also noticed the intake manifold is plastic. I was thinking of swapping it out. This would alleviate the broken screw problem and make pulling the plugs easier. It also looks like it's just 8 bolts. Would swapping a new intake manifold in add any performance gains? Is there a manifold others recommend?
View 9 RepliesOK, so I have a 01 f350sd and i went to check my oil and the dipstick tube itself is so rusted it snapped in half so I took it to the dealer which I knew was going to be over priced labor but still checked the tube itself is 20 dollars but labor is upwards of 300-500... My engine is the 5.4 triton.
View 2 RepliesI just realized my driver's side front leaf spring on my 2002 F250 has snapped. I checked the weight sticker on my truck and it weighs 5200lbs in the front. My question is the heaviest springs I found only support 2630lbs a piece, so being a 7.3 is 5200lbs a correct weight for the front of this truck? also why would Ford make springs that support only 60lbs more than the front weight? Hell I weight more than 60lbs.... Did I snap the damn thing just by climbing into the cab?!?!
View 6 RepliesReplacing the antenna base on the roof? I have looked at the DIY for a Golf and those make it seem easy but on the R32 there is a metal piece running along the roof which doesn't allow you to access the wiring for the antenna base to disconnect the wires. How to remove this metal piece or disconnect the wiring?
