View 4 RepliesChrome Side Molding coming loose on passenger back door. I tried a clear silicon and clamped for 3 hours. Unclamped and trim is lifting back up ?
Looks like clip behind trim snapped. Any kind of glue or adhesive can be recommend that will work?
While clamping trim to door I put a crimp mark in trim. Somewhere down the road I will replace this crimped trim.
I have a '15 Toyota Camry XLE V6 Blizzard Pearl
I was thinking of adding on Body Side Molding.
How does it look in person? any pictures?
I had cars with it that I've added on after. I like the look of it either way [on or off]
I need a piece of the orig body side molding or something close. Where I might find something that will work? I'm reconditioning all the rockers on my white van and I need a piece on the sliding door.
View 8 RepliesMy 2008 460 has the damn peeling drip molding on the passenger side. I found a wrecked 07 gs of the same color in a local wrecking yard and I was wondering how hard it is to pull off the drip molding myself. Do I need any special service tools? Don't want to damage my car.
View 2 RepliesMy driver side door molding is missing a clip. This is the bottom half of the mold and one of the clips snapped off. I've checked junk yards and they never have any GX's. Just to elaborate the clip I'm missing is on the exterior side of the door, down by the bottom edge.
View 2 RepliesHave owned my 2008 GX470 for about 8 months now and love it. However, over the last month I have noticed the molding between the driver door and roof has been popping out. I don't know if there are clamps down in there that have fallen out or if the molding just needs to be clamped back in. Picture is below.
View 5 RepliesI would like to remove the chrome window molding around the front and rear doors of my 2010 Camry. Is it difficult to remove? More importantly, when I go to reinstall it - is it difficult to get straight like OEM fit and finish?
View 3 RepliesLooking for a DIY for this part? It is part number 5 in the illustration.
View 5 RepliesI've noticed on both rear doors, the Lower Moulding (black cover at the bottom of the door) #12 in the attached diagram (Light Blue Circle), is very much separated from the body of the car, it's like bended toward the outside, but it seems to be exactly the same on both sides, I am not sure if this is normal or mine has a defect
Both front doors are OK, not 100% perfectly aligned with the body of the car, but MUCH better than the rear doors....
I recently discovered that my lower side molding on my front passenger side door was loose while cleaning away some of the salt stains from the winter storm . how to fix it or do I need a replacement.
View 11 RepliesI read through all the discussions on this topic scattered across a number of threads, and finally pulled the trigger. Just wanted to share the simple steps I took and some pictures.
The overriding conclusion is: it is easy; you can do it without drilling holes!
OK, let's start with a few photos of the parts. Note the "infamous" clips and double-sided tapes in the third picture.
Over the weekend I was attempting to detail me car and install my HID Fogs when I noticed that the "Drip Molding" on the right side of my 07' GS350 was peeling. It looks almost like some type of thin cheap painted tape.
Here are the pics...
When I took it to Lexus of Cherry Hill, they told me that they were "puzzled" and that a service tech that has been there since 1989 has never seen this before. Asked if the car was involved in any accidents......
The car was purchased from a lease. All service records come from Lexus w/ a clean CarFax.
The chrome shift cap came off and I lost it. Accidentally threw it away somehow. Looks like crap now!
Someone had posted that they had gotten a replacement from their dealer. I went to my dealer and all he would sell me was THE WHOLE SHIFT UNIT. All I need is to pop the little cap on top of the shifter, not replace the entire unit.
What I was wondering is if you have gotten just the cap from your dealer, what might the part number be so I can get one.
Just picked up a new to us 2004 GX470 for my wife.
One of the things wrong with the GX470 is the passenger door exterior molding is unclipped at the bottom. I ordered new clips from eBay and they just came in. Now I just need to figure out how to get the molding off without making the problem worse so I can replace all the clips.
When I went to pull my key out of the ignition yesterday the key got a bit stuck and when I jiggled it a little to pull it out the chrome bezel that locks the tumbler in fell out. Now the tumbler is out as well and I cant figure out how to get the tumbler in and lock the bezel in place.
I see a pin on the bottom of the ignition cylinder that I should be able to push in and pull the cylinder out but I cant seem to push the pin in at all.
The front of the rear bumper on the driver's side is loose from the main body. The clip on the bumper is ripped from where it tore. I've gone ahead and bought the clips and everything from Lexus near me, but need to know the best epoxy or glue to reconnect the clip area on the bumper so I can apply the clips.
Is the bumper on that spot (the back side of it, not the painted exterior, if that makes sense) fiberglass.
I have a 2004 Ford F150 4x4 with 170,000 miles. its running a little rough so I thought I would clean the throttle body. do you clean it on the truck or remove it?
