I've noticed that when I open the trunk from inside the car, the trunk lid opens and raises up. When I open the trunk using the key fob, it only unlocks the trunk, but doesn't raise the lid. It's odd, is it just my car? Or can this be changed so the trunk lid raises when using the key fob. I didn't see this covered in the manual.
View 4 RepliesI've searched through prior threads but all the trunk issues seem to revolve around either the motorized trunks or wiring loom, my issue is a bit different.
On my recently acquired 2005 Phaeton the trunk unlocks and locks fine, but it does not "pop" up at all. I end up having to pry my fingers under the lid to lift it up(harder to do than you'd think). The trunk shocks hold it up fine and everything else seems normal. Would this be an issue with the latch itself?
So I had opportunity to drive a Buick Lacrosse. When I popped the trunk, it sprung open all the way which my Lexus does not do. While the rest of that Lacrosse was garbage, I really liked that the trunk did that. Especially when your hands are full. Am I whining enough yet? So this is normal right?
View 12 RepliesMy hatch has been unlocking just fine (you hear the click and it pops out just a little bit) but when you flip the emblem to open it won't always open. This is of course intermittent so I can't get it to happen at the dealer. It feels unlocked but when you pull on it something still is staying latched and I have to unlock it again with the remote to release.

Just picked up the Tiguan SEL with 4 motion, nav, pano roof. The RNS510 has MDI.....
Trunk not open all the way when using the button on the remote, inside the car, or the smart sensor? It is pretty useless if your hands are full and the trunk opens a few inches and you still have to manually open it the rest of the way.
View 5 RepliesI have had my car for a week and use the trunk every day. Tonight the trunk wouldn't open. Brought it to service and they were just closing, but technician looked quickly and didn't know problem and told me to come back tomorrow. I called Blue Link and they didn't have a clue either. I tried the remote, the trunk release in the car and the release under the trunk itself. I hear a click but it won't open. I even tried the second remote.
View 9 RepliesI went from 2014 Sonata Limited to 2016 Sonata limited. Have had the 2016 for a day now. On balance I like the changes with one exception. On the 2014 if I had Keyfob in pocket there was button underneath trunk lip I could press to open trunk. On 2016 that button is gone. Trunk is to automatically open after x seconds if Keyfob is present.
The problem is the trunk will automatically open as I walk past trunk to enter driver door. Then sometimes if I want to open trunk it never opens when I am standing next to it. I think they thought this was a cool upgrade but it is worse. I may have to turn that feature off.
My car got broken into 2002 VR6 4 motion.
Windows no longer roll down.
Trunk doesn't open.
Interior lights don't turn on.
So a few weeks ago more (more like end of Jan) I was sitting in the car listening to the radio and battery dies... didn't know it was dead until i tried to start her up... ever since then the key fob remote only unlocks the drivers door and the trunk???

View 14 RepliesWell, i dropped off my car to the dealer on Friday because i had no audio what so ever, i checked the fuses and they were all fine. The dealer called me today and said the amplifier in the trunk shorted out, they are ordering a new one from Mark Levinson and will have my car til at least Wednesday. I've only had the car for 4 months and the audio settings were on default.
Oh and I'm driving around in a crappy NX 200t, the body roll on this car is ridiculous.
I know this has been done, but how the do you pop out the light from the trunk? Do you have to push inwards from the side to release the clip?
View 1 RepliesI got home at 12pm, I parked my RCF in the garage. At 10pm I walk into the garage to grab something and I heard a noise, weird noise, what is that? I thought. Sounded like a one of those small air pumps to pump up the tires.
Suddenly I noticed that the noise it was coming from under the RCF trunk. And after 15 seconds stopped.
The care were parked for 10hrs, what it was?
I heard some people reporting fuel pump problems but while the engine is running.
I had a flat tire yesterday and when my husband went to change the tire we couldn't open the trunk. I tried pushing the button in the glove box and I still can't open it.

Mine doesn't sit under the gasket, or even around the gasket for that matter...almost like it has started sagging over time.
It is very cold up here in WI and this week, I found that the trunk lid would not power open. It would unlatch and then just sit there. There was no ice in the way and it would power down normally. When parked in the garage overnight it was ok but at work at the end of the day it would not do its thing.
View 2 RepliesThe shocks (or whatever) that keep the trunk open have gone bad. Of course it happened a month after my warranty expired. They look easy to replace. Where to get them, cost, and how to install? I don't like going to my Lexus dealer. They make me feel like a criminal for not changing my oil every 5k, changing my own filters, etc, etc. etc.
View 14 RepliesSo today I walk out Walmart getting ready to put some groceries in my trunk and it won't open. It beeps... But will not open. I've tried the button on both the remote and inside the car. Hell I even took a long stick and went through the middle of the back seat and pulled the trunk release inside the trunk lid.. And it still won't open.... No I did not touch the trunk cancel button in the glove. All it does is beeps. It won't open.
