Whenever I back out of the driveway or make a u-turn the car seems the front wheels seems to be making this thumping noise and you can really feel it too. I did some research and found that some other cars do this too. Like this [URL] ...-the-wrong-way for example.

View 3 RepliesBack in January I had my right front wheel bearing and u-joint go out, so I replaced them both. At the time I didn't realize my outer stub axle shaft was wore so I just put it back in. After a little driving the right side started to "thump" and "pop" when I would make hard left turns driving around town.
I replaced the outer front stub axle shaft and seal again because the old one was worn down. This eliminated any play in the u-joint. After a bit of driving the thumping and popping noise came back.
I decided to dig into it today so I pulled it all apart. When everything is apart it turns easily, no issue at all. When I assembled the wheel bearing, torqued it to 55 ft/lbs and installed and "locked" the hub I noticed something peculiar. I can barely turn the whole assembly by hand. I have to put a good amount of force to get the whole assembly to turn at all. When I walk to the driver side with all the same parts there i can turn the wheel bearing and locked axle shaft with one finger on the studs.
I have been in this thing 5 times and can not figure out what the heck is wrong. I can't figure out why this stupid axle shaft and wheel bearing are so hard to turn, together or separately, and I can't figure out how to get my front end to stop that thumping and popping.
I bought a 2015 ES350 in August and have a couple of weird noises.
First is what sounds like either door rubber seal on body rubber seal or window on rubber seal noise over certain types of bumps. Is this common? I can live with this until I bring it in for its first service, but it might be a simple fix I can do.
The second is more of a concern. When I'm moving slowly over an angled surface like a driveway that might cause some "twist" of the car, there can be a loud pop sound. Since it does not happen very often, it is very difficult to locate, and I'm sure its one of those things the dealer service department will never hear. When it happened over the weekend, it almost sounded like it was coming from the roof. This morning, it sounded like it might have come from the rear driver side door, but it is hard to tell.
My wife has a 2013 GS350.....when she backs out of the driveway, turning at a slight angle...there is a loud pop that sounds like it is coming from the rear. The noise does not repeat during normal driving or going over bumps...just when backing out at an angle to the left. Dealer could not repeat the noise. Almost sounds like the strut brace/bar is loose or something along those lines.
View 3 RepliesWhen backing out of same parking spot, I always hear a clunk, clunk, clunk, noise in the front while turning the steering while back in the fixed position. I have heard this noise in the past but did not think any thing of it.
It's hard reproduce this noise, it seems to only be happening when backing out and turning the steering wheel. Car only has a little over one thousand miles.
Ok so my friends '06 automatic was making this horrible thumping noise. So I replaced the DR side axle assebly. Still thumping , so I replaced the the passenger side...STILL THUMPING!!! WTF I turn the wheel hard right or left I hear a 3-4 clicks when I back up. Wheel bearing? Unbalanced wheel? Broken engine mount?

I dropped off my car on September 21st and they have yet to complete my car... I've called them every single day since but, I don't get a good explanation from the dealer...
So the car stops all its forward motion and then sets back a little. I'm sure y'all know what I mean.
I just replaced rear brake pads and rotors and noticed when I come to a complete stop and the car lurches back when it stops, there is a little squeak. It sounds like something is moving around back there. Here's my theory:
The old rotors were pretty stuck on the hubs...so they didn't move. There's a little wiggle room between the rotors and the wheel studs. When the vehicle stops and changes directions, the rotors move and make a noise. I ran this by my mechanic and he told me when the lug nuts are tightened, it would prevent that movement.
2007 camry se makes a popping noise when i turn into my driveway, or any driveway for that matter. Its annoying, and im puzzled as to what it can be. My worst fear is that this car was in a bad wreck.

Starting to think maybe a bad cv joint. Is their a way to check if a cv joint is bad? How hard would it be to replace a cv joint and shaft?

I cant tell whether this is normal or not and I wanted to know if this was a sign of anything serious. The car only has 70k miles and is in pretty good shape. Still stock suspension.

Sometimes when I make a turn (not hitting a bump) or go over a bump, I hear a clicking sound from underneath my seat (towards the rear)... Tried adjusting the seat and messing around with a few settings, but the "clicking" sound persists....?
So I've been getting this weird cracking noise from inside my car. Sounds like its coming from the rear side of the headliner. This always happens when I'm turning in or out of a driveway or over a speed bump. What it could be. Usually at low speeds and usually when I'm turning. It is very annoying!

at an angle causes a loud popping noise from my roof. I checked the headliner to see if anything was loose but came up with nothing. This occasionally happens on sharp turns on uneven ground.
I recently lowered my car so now this is happening way too often.
When I reverse out of my driveway, my car makes a noise. It only happens when it is in reverse and sounds like something may be rubbing against each other. It's not a high pitched squeaking noise but more so just vibrations and a light rubbing noise.

Every time I go up a slanted driveway (driving into a driveway at an angle, not head on), there is a clunking noise coming from the right rear of the car. The sounds it makes is almost as if I the spare tire is lose hitting on the right side of the car. This only happens if I am driving into a driveway coming from the right side, the sounds does not happen if I am entering my driveway from the left side.
View 1 RepliesI'm having 4WD problems with my Yukon, but the dealer keeps telling me there's nothing wrong with it (this has been going on for 2 winters now), which is either code for, "let's wait until it's extended warranty expires, so we don't have to pay for it," or "the computer says nothing is wrong, so that's all we're going to look at." When it's in 4WD, anytime I make a sharp turn or even turn a corner there's a grinding noise in the front, if I try to back up, it will only go as far as one revolution of the tires then stop (I have to take it out of 4WD to backup), eventually the "Service 4WD" light comes on, but apparently nothing gets recorded on the computer. It has 32,000 miles on it.
