So i have been trying to pair my phone to the car, but i always get a "Microphone not connected" message. I have attached the picture. The car detects the phone's audio media, but can't seem to be able to make calls using the Bluetooth. I remove my phone from my car's system and reconnect it. But once it is paired up, i get the same message as below.
View 14 RepliesI had a Samsung Galaxy s4 that gave me the message tethering detected and then the only way to get my phone to connect via bluetooth again was to delete the phone from the car and reestablish the connection which only worked until the signal popped up again. I called US Cellular and they thought it was the phone so I chose to get a refurbished s4 over having work done on my phone. I had that phone hooked up and working well for about 1 month and now the second phone is doing it.
The message last popped up while I was in my office across the street from the Prius. I'm guessing it's either a s4 issue or a US Cellular issue being it happens in and out of the car, but US Cellular is convinced it's my car. I'm thinking about switching to an iPhone because this is only one of the many things I hate about Samsung galaxies.
I have a 2007 RX 350. I just recently started using bluetooth. It was working well and then all of a sudden I have an issue after a call. I hang up my phone, but the screen still shows that it is talking; although, no call is being made. I have to stop and start car to get it to clear, so I can start again. However, it will only work once and then it still won't hang up.

I have successfully paired the phone for voice communications using the instructions in the manual but when I go to transfer my phone book the car just says transferring. I left this for about 10 minutes and no numbers moved. The phone says Paired for audio is this would be my guess as to why this isnt working. Any tips to get my numbers imported?
View 14 RepliesJust took delivery of my 2005 SC430 (Egyptian Sand, white leather, 55k miles. Lovely vehicle.) which I thought came with Bluetooth.
However, when looking to pair my iPhone 4S the 'Phone' icon is not present on the ML Nav Info display screen, suggesting that maybe Bluetooth is missing? I confirmed it's a 2005 from the VIN.
When I depress the little button below and behind the steering wheel volume buttons (left side - this is a US car) I get a voice saying 'No cassette inserted' or words to that effect, suggesting it's a cassette control button, not a Bluetooth one. The Nav instruction book which came with the car specifically refers to the presence of Bluetooth.
How to find if I have Bluetooth or not? My iPhone cannot 'discover' anything.
Have non-Nav system. The "nav" display works OK, I can get into climate control, Info, Setting, etc. When I turn on the car, message comes up that Bluetooth is connected. But I can't switch to radio or CD and can't control it from a steering wheel either.
I checked all the fuses - all ok. Took the whole unit out of the dashboard, checked all the wire harness connectors in the back - all good. Also, disconnected Vaistech SLS and VML, just to make sure - still audio is off.
Why I can't turn the audio back on
I have mine just left of the rear view mirror attached to the headliner but My microphone picks up a lot of inside background noise. I am beginning the to add sound dampener to the inside but it's going to be a while. Is there a better location or microphone so that I can actually use hands free on my phone?

With my old iPhone 5S, incoming messages displayed when phone was connected in the car. Now with my iPhone 6S messages no longer display. I can't even find it in the phone settings anymore.

View 4 RepliesMy 2010 Santa Fe came with the GPS, backup camera, satellite bluetooth capable head unit. It started acting up after being parked for 4 months. I noticed a delay in the display response to a setting change. Change an FM station preset and it would take the head unit 20-30 secs to show that change.
Did everything suggested, reset unit several times nothing worked until I de-paired all bluetooth devices. Now it works great.
I get my iPhone 5 paired with my car for calls and music but not for messages. Is there a trick to doing that?

View 8 RepliesI bought brand new 2013 Camry SE yesterday night..it has been just 15 hours since I bought it..today morning when I tried to pair my phone with car multimedia system...it showed the screen that it is connecting and the little circle on the top right was moving in circle as if it was trying to connect and all of a sudden it just got hang up...right there....its not going any where...now.
Is there a way to reboot this multimedia system (just like you can reboot computer or phone)..??
I tried turning car on-off...tried setup -default on bluetooth settings etc...but no luck.
Sometimes my Samsung S5 will connect and I am able to use Pandora, other times not. Bluetooth is always on. I get a message that says "Tether error" where the Pandora box is. Tried resetting the system by pressing and holding the volume button for 3 seconds, also turned off and back on bluetooth on my phone. Today I opened the app on my phone and still nothing.
This is on a 2014 IS 350 AWD F Sport.
Just got my Prius III last week and I've noticed that every time I leave the car, the bluetooth on my phone shows its still connected, even though the car is off and I'm no where near it. What's worse is that when I return to the car, it doesn't reconnect. So I'm not sure if its the phone or the car. I had bluetooth in my Tacoma for years and it worked fine, so it has to have something to do with the car. Its a Droid 4.

While the call features work great, all of the other sounds from the phone are completed muted when connected. No text message or any other push notification sounds can be heard at all from both the phone and the car's sound system.

But when she gets in the car it always connects to her phone for bluetooth streaming even though mine was the last one connected. Totally obnoxious, so I deleted her.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2012 Prius v Model 5 without Tech Pkg. While streaming music from my iPod Touch via Bluetooth, the sound tends to skip or speed up as if you are pressing fast forward intermittently. Sound is fine when hard wired via USB. I don't recall this happening when the car was new.
View 3 RepliesI've had a "need service soon" message and amber triangle symbol for a couple of weeks and cleared all of the reminders for service. The oil change isn't for another 5k. Now the message is "need service" with the same symbol. This is a 2015 LS with 5k on the odo. I called the dealer and was told that only they can turn the light off. This 5K service is free and includes everything that I do at least every month and...resetting the maintenance light! I doubt that this service is required to maintain the warranty so I would like to turn the light off. Is this possible without going to the dealer? Oh, by the way they also check the driver's floor mat.
