I have a 2013 LS in which I leave my iPod plugged in all the time. It usually plays perfectly. However, it frequently loses connection for no apparent reason and the audio shuts off. When I turn the audio back on the iPod is not shown on the menu. I have to dig it out of the console and remove and reinsert the plug. The iPod then shows up on the menu and all is well for a while.
View 2 RepliesI found a few threads on this forum talking about skipping problems with ipods. Has there been a fix for this yet? I have a 2012 Prius Three and an ipod classic 80 gb from 2006. I'm not able to use voice commands because it says that the ipod is still syncing. If I play a song it will pause for 1-2 seconds randomly during the song, maybe 1-3 times per song. It's extremely annoying. It doesn't matter if I'm driving slow, fast or parked.

View 11 RepliesI have a Motorola Maxx (not the HD model). When I tried to sync to my RX450h, it initially failed. A little online research indicated that I should load an app called "Bluetooth Phonebook" and enable BPAP. Did that and all appeared to go well - all my contacts showed up. However, on closer inspection, several contacts had one of the last 4 digits wrong.
View 4 RepliesI have the classic ticking sound on acceleration. I had a muffler shop check it out and the tech said he thinks the passenger side exhaust manifold has a leak. I have already replaced the whole manifold and cat on the drivers side. Could it be just the gasket? The ticking is coming from the top near the engine and not the cat. Is it a pain to replace the gasket?
View 14 RepliesSuper excited still just picked up a 13 cpo fsport awd, obsidian and cabernet. Playing with the set up and seeing some of the posts on here a couple questions I had.
#1. There's a DIY thread for changing the puddle light. I couldn't find in the settings how to turn those lights on. When I lock the doors or unlock, they don't turn on.
#2. In the phone settings, there's an option to show contact pictures for the caller ID. I tried a couple calls, but the picture doesn't show on the dash screen, but does on my phone.
I've been driving Lexus since 1995. My new GS is a 2008 model (with a President pack according to local French definition). I use windows phones (Lumia series) and I can easily connect these phones for conversations while driving over BT. But when I try to transfer my contact data to the car, the BT connection fails and when I stop this transfer, the BT connection comes alive again.
I only have/use windows phone (windows 10 and windows 8.1). any hint where I could look to to solve this problem ?
another question related to this : can I stream audio from my phone to the Mark Levinson system via BT ? apparently it does not work with my windows phones .
I have a 1993 Lexus SC 300 and have met all maint milestones. Recently had both rear shocks replaced and am getting a SHARP metal contact in the left rear when the suspension begins to load. Mechanic spent afternoon looking in shock mount, trunk, spare, jack, spare and antenna mast-can't find it. New tires. New rear brakes-told me that was it. Still there.

View 14 RepliesI have been a long time Lexus owner (ES and 3 RXs), but I am new to the GX. I just got a 2014 GX-40 w/ Premium Package.
The GX has a lot of the same features my previous RXs had, but of course has some improvements (smoother ride, quieter, better stereo sound, real 4WD).
1) The RX had a console that had the USB connection in it. I found it very handy to just leave my iPod plugged in there. I just had to switch the Source in the radio whenever wanted to listen to it. Since it was in the console, it was out of sight from thieves. On the GX, my iPod won't fit in the small area where the USB ports are. I don't know if an iPod touch would even fit, and they have much less music storage anyway.
2) The GX obviously weighs more than the RX, and it has a V8 engine. Some portions of the power band in the GX seem to be peppier, but overall, the GX feels a little more sluggish. Sometimes I manually downshift the transmission to pass a vehicle, etc. Are there any other alternatives?
Having issue where your iPods music sounds like its slowed down a bit??? I've had it happen a couple of times and can't figure out what is going on. If I remove the ipod and plug in my headphones all is good... 2014 350 Fsport ....
View 4 RepliesMy iPod usually plays just fine in my ES350, but once a week or so it freezes up. I have to reboot the iPod and then all is good for another week or so. I have two iPods; this happens to each of them. The iPods do not freeze up when tied into my home stereo system. Usually there is an iPhone in the car, using the blue-tooth connection; no hardwired connection for the iPhone in the center console. I am using an Apple connection cable, not a cheap knock-off cable.
View 9 RepliesI literally just picked up my 2013 GS 350 at the auction.
Right when I drove off with it, I plugged in my Iphone 5 and selected the ipod menu, and it loaded up all the music on my iphone. After some fiddling I got the bluetooth to work nice as well.
Then later in the day I plugged my Iphone in after work, and noticed that when I selected the "Ipod" on the audio menu, the screen where the songs are supposed to populate doesn't load up the songs. The screen is just blank, as if there was no ipod connected.
I just picked up my gs 350 fsport. having fun.. noticed that when i plug in my ipad to the usb port it recognizes it as an ipod. but.. here is the question.. it will play sound of music files no problem and but on the videos it only plays sound and give a message that device not video or something similar to that. Does that mean that some devices can be input through the usb to play video?
View 14 RepliesThe VML I had in the car stopped working for no reason a while back and I figured that the unit may have gone bad since it was used before I got it. I checked all the connections first and figured it must be dead.
So then I ordered the iVIC-5i and hooked everything up and when I went to program the unit nothing happens on the screen. Like the radio isn't reading or getting a signal from that input or something now. The unit has power to it, the green and or yellow LEDs are on depending which way the switches are pointed but nothing happens on the screen. I called VAIS and after being on the phone with the tech support for 30-40 minutes they figured the unit was defective and sent me another one, and that's doing the same thing.
So I'm wondering what in the world could have happened since it used to work? Is there some setting in the radio that I can't find to turn on that input, or a fuse?
I have a 2007 Honda Fit with a standard transmission. My car has started losing power and decelerating even though, even with my foot on the gas. If I am on the interstate It will drop to about 35-40 and ten after 15 seconds or so it will accelerate again. If I am driving in town and I stop it will stall out. NO lights come on with it. It is very intermittent and I had to to the dealership and they said they couldn't tell what was going on since it didn't do it for them. I only have 70,000 miles and should have a road ready but I am afraid to take in on the interstate anywhere after a couple of frightening instances.
View 3 RepliesI have an 07 explorer that has developed an new problem. While driving, I lose all throttle, regardless of whether I'm accelerating or just cruising along. I've checked the vacuum lines and fuels filter and pump to no avail. It. Has progressed from a once a week to the point that it's not drivable.
View 4 RepliesAs of yesterday the gas pedal started losing power completely. It only happens for a brief moment when I'm driving and only in the morning. The car does not shake, rpms don't drop and no check engine light. I'm not sure what's going on, I can't replicate it so going to Lexus is pointless at this point.I was thinking maybe its my fuel pump going bad?

Not a bunch but I fear that it is just a matter of time before they all go away.
I assume, not being a LCD engineer, that there really isn't much that can be done to fix my existing LCD but I thought I would ask the group hoping for a resolution other than replacing the LCD.
I have a 2007 Explorer with around 79,000 miles on it and it has been in for assorted repairs over the last 6 months. Cooling issues, Losing all Coolant, Rough sounding engine, Stalling while driving, The mechanic has said they replaced much of everything each time I take it in. But now it was in for a fuel pump and while they were test driving it he said the Internal balance Shaft exploded and shrapnel is in the engine. His solution replace the engine with a 2008 has 38k on it for $2K. Does this sound right?
Do these Explorers have issues like this?
Ok, so I got the car, and had been trying to sync my phone contact (samsung s3) since the first day, everytime i try to sync, they would only upload one contact and that is my phone number. I have been reading around and tried almost everything, turn phone off, restart etc.
The reason for it is, I save my phone contact to sim card and not on the phone itself, so I believed the car only sync with the phone and not the sim, so try to move your contact to the phone and let it sync.
