I have a different trunk issue...... have a custom trunk lid encloser and it may be too heavy so the lid when the auto opener is engaged opens but when fully open it stops and slams down and closes. Is there an adjustment to allow for the additional weight so it stays open? I've searched but cannot find anything on the topic.
View 6 RepliesMy trunk will open with the FOB and cabin switch.......it will start to open, then reach about 2/3 open and then stops and closes hard. I have a custom interior panel that may be too much weight for the lid, but even when I assist it going up, it still stops and closes hard.
Is there a way to either manually override the auto open/close, or change the sensitivity of the auto close actuator?
The new rx350 can open and close the trunk with a button...why not the ls460? I'm wondering if anyone tapped the switch in the rear and run the wire to the front & put a switch there so we can close it from inside. Sometimes we accidentally open the trunk and have to run out to close it.

View 3 RepliesI have an '01 Focus Wagon. I've had this problem with the latching mechanism for a while, but it's gotten worse as time progresses. The latch catches and closes the door. The trunk isn't going to open, but it does not close fully. As a result, the door ajar light is always on my console. I used to fix it by manually closing the latch with by hand and then re-opening the latch. It closed almost every time after I did that. But now, even that is not working.

View 3 RepliesIt's a 2011 xlt ecoboost with 14000 miles. Just started getting bad where it literally jars the whole truck. It only does it once. After I'm in 2nd then go back to 1st at a stop, it shifts fine back into 2nd. If I let it warm up for around 10 minutes or so it doesn't happen.

View 7 RepliesI recently had my Transmission flushed at 90K (beyond the 75k). I had my Struts replaced and Full differential service. They found the Carrier bearing Center Ring was blown out said my truck was fine to drive until the part came in. I drove my truck home and it wasn't until I put about 20 miles on my truck did my truck start to slam into 2nd gear. It goes gentle if I accelerate slowly and eases with I turn the OD off ( but I only tried a few times). I have tried a few forums and there are so many things that it could be.
Everything was fine until I had this servicing and they took my truck apart. On a separate unrelated issue I have a check battery light on, but it is a brand new battery. I had my stereo changed out a year ago and the shop said it was the battery failing (only 1.5yrs old). Just though I would throw that in just in case a COMPUTER issue gets thrown out there. My truck has been running fine before all this SERVICING was performed...

View 2 RepliesIn my 07 ES350 I had water on the carpet of the drives side all the way to the backseat! I was gone for a coupla days when this happened and with the heat it sure did have a musky odor when I opened the door!
I have looked all around the sunroof and cleaned the edges could not see anything that would leak although under the sunroof at the front there was water in the tray.
Then I looked all around the windshield. Could not see anything that could cause a leak. Lightly hosed off the car today and had water dripping down the driver side pillar and the covering for the pillar was wet.
This car has never had a leak anywhere until now. Gonna have to have the carpet removed and steam cleaned I guess to get rid of the odor, but not until I stop the leak!!!!
I have a 2009 lexus es 350. Its my baby since new. I have around 75,000 miles on it. Recently when I start the vehicle I noticed a heavier than usual exhaust smell, with some very very light white exhaust. The car seems to drive fine in every way.

View 7 RepliesI am driving a 2007 Lexus LS. Yesterday, the battery died, so I had to jump the car.
The battery was easily jumped, but now the trunk of the car will not close. I am able to push it all the way down, but the latch will not grab and attach.
Also, the automatic trunk button does not work either. When I press the button, I can hear a "click", but nothing happens.
I have a 2007 es 350. I hauled a bike in the trunk yesterday, obviously with the trunk lid firmly tied down. Went over a speed bump, I thought slow enough, but there was a thump from the back. Later that day I noticed the passenger side was up around 1/4" at the upper edge close to the rear window. Checked with a hose and it leaks.
View 14 RepliesI have an issue to where every once in a while my truck will not shift and when it does shift it slams into gear, and my overdrive light flashes and then I'll turn the truck off let it sit and crank it back up and it drives fine and the overdrive light is off. It shifts normal and smooth other than when this happens. Not sure if it is my torque converter or maybe a solenoid or what. My truck is an 07 f250 6.0 with 192,000.
View 5 RepliesMy family picked up a 2007 with about 150k on it. All maintenance has been performed at the dealer up to this point which is great. I have noticed two problems thus far:
-The rear power door will open all the way, but when it reaches the top it will close on its own again.
-The CD changer is dead I'm pretty sure. I did a quick google and I couldn't find a fix for it.
It is non-hid and non-nav, but I plan on doing a crazy retrofit on the headlights this winter. I never researched too much into this model since I am an ES guy, so I am trying to think of accessories I could put on that are still around. It is the Bamboo Pearl, which I knew had a few issues,. but the previous owner already had them repainted properly. This color is hard to do much with IMO. I know I want to get the chrome door handle covers as well.
It is very cold up here in WI and this week, I found that the trunk lid would not power open. It would unlatch and then just sit there. There was no ice in the way and it would power down normally. When parked in the garage overnight it was ok but at work at the end of the day it would not do its thing.
