I had my starter replaced today and now am hearing some weird rattling sounds coming from front tires. Do you need to remove any of the tires to get to the starter? I thought I read that somewhere.

View 11 RepliesThere was some kind of accident somewhere that broke the turn signal in the drivers side mirror on my GX 460, 2012.
I have worked on other cars before and it has been easy, remove the screws holding the housing in place, and based on swell's site I can see the new signal bolts on.
However, I see the 4 Philips screws behind the physical mirror, and I can access 3 of them, but not the 4th. It seems I would need to remove the physical mirror and I cannot figure out how.
My GX pops up message to require service, the car just on 14,500 miles. I checked one dealer website, the service does not even include oil change. So the question is what service should I do for 15k?

The doors (especially the rear doors) require quite a solid push to close them, or they just come to within an inch or so of closing and don't close all the way.
Want to know if this is a problem with the production of my car in particular, or if the model is just like this.
I know this may be kinda tacky to some but i keep seeing these audi's driving around and the headlights with the LED DRL's always catch my eye. I ordered a set of led DRL and i want to install them either inside the headlight housing or around the rim of the housing if i cant get the font plastic off. How to remove the bumper cover so i can access the bolts that holds the headlights in.
Headlight assembly without damaging the plastic lens . I've seen some other guys toss a toyota matrix assembly in the oven at 350 for 3 minutes to soften the adhesive and then pry apart the front lens off the housing. Would this work with the ls460 or would it damage some of the internals. I have hid and the movable projectors (afs i think its called)....
How to remove the rear seat on the LS460? I need to take it out to have access to the strut tower..need to make sure it's not ripped out/loose bolts or whats not ..still trying to locate the source of that clunk when braking..still...

It works great, however when the vehicle is started using the he remote, as soon as I open the door, the car turns off and I need to restart it. The model I have is Viper 5901. In the manual it says that if I use the Viper remote to unlock the doors, it should not turn the engine off.
View 3 RepliesI have a blown LED on a 2007 LS460. Bought a set of the Stop Lamp and started to embark on my little DIY today.
Both side covers are held on by a little plastic hook underneath near the row of LED bulbs. Hence, you will have to press down firmly to unhook and slide the cover towards you and lift it up to remove. (watch my youtube link below).
The center piece is held on by 2 screws (nearer to the row of LEDs) and 2 plastic clips (nearer to the C-pillars). Remove the 2 thumb screws and the plastic clips (twist or turn them 90 degrees and they should come off easily). At this point, remember to unhook the plastic connector.
Replace the center Stop Lamp piece and install everything in reverse order.
I recently had a remote starter (AutoMate) installed in my 2008 LS460. The remote starter works great but when I open the car door the engine shuts off. I then need to restart by pressing the START button on the dashboard. Is this a safety issue or is this something that can be avoided?
View 8 RepliesFor the past year I have had intermittent start issues with my LS that occur about 15 percent of the time. Ambient or engine temperature do not make a difference. Sometimes the starter engages but then disengages right away. I then need to depress the start button an additional time or two before it actually starts. At other times the starter engages and continues cranking while the engine sounds like it is trying to start (like it is just barely keeping ahead of the starter speed). That carries on for several seconds and then it starts. Nothing shows on diagnostics and the dealer says I am going to have to wait until there is a complete "no start" before they can trouble shoot. There was a similar issue with earlier 460 models but the Lexus service tech said that problem does not apply to the 2011's. It seems there is a lack of fuel delivery but from what point? And why only intermittent and momentary?

View 2 RepliesMy wife's 2010 ES 350 third brake light has an intermittent LED issue. The last 3 LEDs on the pass side flash on/off when the brake is depressed. My understanding is there may be a broken solder joint. My problem is I can't seem to get the assembly out. How the high mount assembly is mounted and how to remove it?
View 2 RepliesI just purchased an 07 RX 350 with a salvage title. I'm going to fix it up and drive it but I'm trying to figure out why it won't start. It was hit in the front driver side corner, bent the radiator support and crushed the bumper and head light, but that is about the extent of the damage. I tried charging the battery and I get power inside and the other headlight seems very bright, but when I try to turn it over, I can hear what I think is the fuel pump engage but the engine doesn't turn over and there is no noise from the starter. Is there a sensor or something that would be stopping it?
View 4 RepliesMy 09 LS w/ 65k on it wont start. last night i drove the car around to several places, and on my last stop of the day i couldnt get the car to start. finally after several tries, it fired right up. but today, no such luck.
All the lights come on (and I have charged my batery with a tender to be sure its not the battery), the steering wheel moves in to position, and I either get a click, or a buzzing sound.
Sounds like starter, any other opinions?
How difficult is it to change the plugs in a ES 350? And can you change the back ones with out removing anything? And what number spark plugs are in the back (1,3,5 or 2,4,6)?
View 5 RepliesI had my 25,000 service done while my '08 LS460 was in for the VSR. Now about 1000 miles later, I am getting the "Change Oil Soon" message on start up. I assume the dealer did not reset the system after the oil change.
Can I reset the oil change warning now or do I have to wait until the yellow warning light comes on steady?
The tire pressure light just came on in a 5 year old tire that I decided to put on the ES350.
The two front tires are 36 lbs, two rear were 32, I adjusted them all to be around 32 and the light is still on, including the spare tire in the trunk.
I decided to put this tire on because it has much better tread than the last. Regardless, I don't know why the light is on.
I am a new owner of a 2007 LS. Recently got the oil changed. 2 weeks later I get the message on my dashboard that the oil needs to be changed. I looked at the maintenance reminders on the screen and deleted anything about oil changes. But the message will not go away - stays on all the time. What is causing this and how do I get rid of it?
