I'm loving my recently acquired 2007 LS460 but am wondering about a quirk. After every car wash my drivers window continues to get smeared with water for 3-4 days every time I put it down and up. I've never seen it last this long or this bad on any previous car. Could this indicate some kind of bad seal? I only notice on my drivers window. I'll have to check the others.
View 4 RepliesHaving the problem my RC 350 has: after a car wash or rain, water seems to stay inside the door. If I roll down the window and roll it back up, the outside surface of the window is soaked. It seems like water is trapped in the door for several days. This can't be normal!?!?
View 9 RepliesI just got this 07 GX470. I had it shipped here on the back of a truck, he drove through some snow storms apparently.
First thing I did was take it to a carwash. When I get to the dryer part (big blower motors at the end of the wash), my feet and my passenger's toes became soaked. I shined a light up under the dash and couldn't see anything wet. Everything else in the car appears dry as far as I can tell.
It's in the 40s here currently.
When I got water drops on my side windows (from rain or frost), rolled it down then up didn't clean off the water. Even worse, all the water drops were untouch.
Is the same to your car, or it's just my car?
I have a 2015 RX 350 .. headlamp washer cover on drivers side was ripped off during car wash. How to repair ... versus going to dealership. I can paint a new cover ...

View 10 RepliesOn my 2007 Lexus ES350, the front passenger window does not stay up.
Using either the driver's switch or the passenger door switch, the window rolls up to the top, then comes back down (the other three windows work fine).
With deft manipulation of the switch, I can get it almost closed.
The only recent 'event' on the car is that I changed the eight year-old OEM battery two weeks ago; the window began acting up two days ago.
Is this programming that was lost when the battery was removed, or am I looking a regulator/pinch motor issue?
I have an 08 LS460 and set my lights to auto.
I have noticed recently, two times I have turned the car off and the lights stay on.
One time was in the garage and I never lock the doors while parking it in my garage.
They were on for 15 mins after I turned off the car.
Feature on there es350 where the puddle lights stay on while the car in drive ?
View 1 RepliesA couple weeks ago I went home sick from work, doped up on medication. We ran through the drive through for dinner, and it was really cold out. Woke up in the morning to find ALL my windows down and the sunroof open.......and it snowed about 1/4 inch. My wife went with me and she was sober, and swears that all the windows were up when we went in the house. Now, I am at work and had a customer come in and tell me that my windows were down, and the sunroof was open half way. This time I KNOW FOR A FACT that they were up and the sunroof was closed when I parked it.
View 4 RepliesI am a new RCF owner. I have one small complaint - water on the side windows after rolling them down then up again. If I wash my car by hand or get a car wash or it rains, I can't roll my windows down and then back up without a crazy amount of water on them.
Of course when that water on the windows dries it ruins my otherwise clear car. And its not like I am rolling the window down right away. Its hours later or the next day at it still comes back up wet. Its basically to the point where I don't bother rolling my windows down because of the wetness.
I have checked to make sure the bottom drains on the door are clear. As an experiment I took my girlfriends Hyundai Elantra to the car wash and then rolled the window down and up...nothing, no water at all. I don't get it.
Last week I had a strange issue after trying to install the HID lights. When driving, I noticed the autodown did not work, and the right side windows would not work from the driver door, only.
I brought the car to the vehicle and they said they did nothing, it worked when they got it. Sure enough, it was working fine when I picked it up and ever since then.
After they installed the spoiler, I noticed the same exact thing! Now putting 2 and 2 together, when I installed the HID lights, I had to remove the battery to mount the ballast and didn't think anything of it. When they installed the spoiler, they also had to disconnect and reconnect the battery.
Possibly something about reconnecting the battery is causing issues with the Auto window switch, and the window control to the right side, from the driver door.
The footwell lights come on when i open the door to get into the car and then go off after a short period of time. However, they will stay on all the time after the car is started. Is that normal? Can they be turned off when the engine is running? The manual is no support.

View 5 RepliesTonight I noticed that the DRL LEDs stayed continuously on after turning off the engine and locking the car. Usually, they are off when I shut down the car then turn back on a few secs later for 1 or 2 seconds then are off for good. I tried restarting then shutting down the car several but to no avail so I ended up removing the fuse that's on the positive cable to turn then off tonight.
View 11 RepliesI have a 2007 LS I purchased a few months ago. Wind noise from windows is very loud. I applied the jmcraney fix this week - did it exactly as the directions say. Made no difference in wind noise - still get a bunch of wind noise through the windows. My LS has 70k miles so it is out of warranty.
View 14 RepliesPurchased my LS 460 last week and noticed when going 55 mph or more there was wind noise coming from both the drivers front window and passenger's front window. Decided to go back to the dealer and was told that is a known problem with the LS 460 (not the 460L because I was told they use a different type of glass which apparently has a better seal). You can't hear it with conversation or radio, but if there isn't anything on, it's there. Kinda like when a window is just barely cracked while driving is the sound you hear. I test drove a different LS 460 while at the dealer and was able to verify it too had the same wind noise. The dealer suggested that if there is enough comments made that Lexus would undoubtedly look into a "campaign" to correct the problem. Went online and checked a few review sites by consumers and noticed others had also commented on this wind noise. If you have the LS 460 (not the 460L) check it out...and if you hear it, consider filing it with Lexus Customer Service at 1-800-255-3987. Overall, a great car...things like this can happen with the first year of a body redesign.
