Today as I was driving on the freeway my radio randomly shut down and turned back on. it was a complete power down as if I was turning the car on. I believe I seen the dash also do a system check. I also think I felt the power steering turn on and off for a split second. very odd. I almost feel the entire car shut down for a split second.
View 14 RepliesI recently came across a problem that is not a big deal but enough to irritate me. When I engage the parking brake it will shut the radio off. I cant see to see how the two systems are related to one another. I don't have the brake light lit on my dash indicating anything is wrong with my brakes. I have tried to reset the navigation system a few number of times but the problem is still there.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2004 ford Escape and the radio won't turn off when the cars ignition is turned off. I have checked the interior lights and the windows and they turn off, so I'm assuming that the relay isn't the problem. I have asked a ford mechanic what he might think it would be and he said it could be the radio, but I don't think it is.
View 10 RepliesI have been having some electrical problems lately that seem to be getting worse. For the past few months sometimes when i hit a bump or pothole my radio would shut off and then turn back on. Well I never got around to looking at it cause i would forget about it until it did it again. so just a couple of days ago im coming into my driveway, hit the bump, and my car shuts off. Not like a stall, just no electricity. I was thinking i need a new battery because my lights flicker and dim when i hit my window button, or when I am just sitting at a light, sometimes my dash lights will flicker. But now I am thinking maybe I have a bad ground or something.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2006 GS300. I have had a few oddball issues with my car (the engine rattle at start up....the water backing up in the floor behind the passenger seat etc.... ) but this one has me baffled. I turn on the headlights and one or both will randomly go out. Sometimes its the left and sometimes its the right. When this problem started, I thought it was the bulbs so I tried changing the bulbs but that didn't work.
When I turn them on, they both come on and then I leave the house and drive for a few miles, then I will notice that one of them goes out, so I turn the lights completely off and then right back on and they both come back on. Then a few minutes later one or the other will go out again. Sometimes they both go out while I am driving, so I need to flick them off and back on. I have no problem with the high beams or the running lights. I don't drive too much at night so it hasn't been a huge hassle, but it is definitely a problem.
Will be driving and the radio will just come on. This happens every now and then.
View 9 RepliesThe past couple of days, I would turn the car on, and within a second or two it will shut off automatically. Then, I would restart it without a problem, but the infotainment screen says they system is restarting. This has happened twice in two days.
View 13 RepliesIf i have the radio volume up fairly high, it will keep cutting off for a few seconds then come back on. then cut off again etc....
I presume the amp is getting hot and causing this, am I right? And would I need another amp, or maybe there is a fan in the amp not working? Or am I not even close? Its pretty annoying when that good song comes on and it cuts out.
Its not the actual radio that cuts off, its the sound from the speakers.
I'm having an intermittent problem with my radio. I have an '05 GX with Nav and I have installed the VAIS tech SLS. Everything works fine with the radio, but sometimes when I start the car the radio is turned off, even though the radio was left on when the truck was turned off. This is an intermittent problem and is possibly related to the VAIS unit. Is this a sign of a larger future problem with the Nav unit?

View 4 Repliesi have a 03 GX with 53000 plus miles on it. four days ago, i turn on the radio and there's no sound coming out of it. i tried also the tape player and the disc and it is the same thing. i can see from the nav screen that the radio is working for i can change the station and same thing with regards to the changer i can change the any of the six cd's on it. yesterday on my way home i turn on the radio and the sound is back. today it is out again.
View 1 RepliesHaven't driven the 2013 ES 350 very much yet but my Nav map has suddenly turned to black and white instead of the initial multiple colors, even during the day. What happened ... can't seem to find on the system how to revert back without going thru 900+ page book. Also, the map is showing some roads/hwys. with tiny circles (attached to each other) instead of the previous thick lines?
Radio, don't have the XM service but when listening to std. issue radio, sometimes and lasting maybe for 8-10 seconds or so, the radio suddenly sounds very "echoey" and more emphasized, it seems, from the back speakers. Then it reverts back to "normal" - only to do it again within the same 20 min. drive-time.
So after installing my JoeZ axle back for about 5k miles I noticed there was an issue. The check engine light was going on but turning off randomly. I finally decided to take the car to the dealer for them to check out. So what the dealer said is that the JoeZ exhaust "direct bolt-on bolts" restricted flexibility and caused leaks in the front cats. He said that the stock exhaust screws had the springs on it to allow flexibility when hitting dips/potholes. With that said, He recommended switching the front two gaskets and using the stock "spring screws."
I was wondering, encountered this problem with the bolts that came with the JoeZ axle back? I bought the JoeZ off a user here and it came with bolts, which i assumed came with the exhaust when it was purchased new. Not even sure if the bolts he gave me was correct, or if i just made the mistake of not using stock bolts.
why does it shut off radio before you open door? Can this be programmed so that when u turn engine off, radio stays on till driver door is opened? My wives Audi does this and is great for waiting at bank drive-up, or picking up someone.

View 6 RepliesMy 2007's drivers side headlight is randomly shutting off. I can see it slightly flutter when I inspect it. I'm not sure how to replace it. I've taken off the cap/wiring harness and can see the end of the lamp but it isn't clear to me how to proceed.
View 14 RepliesSo my left headlight will randomly turn off while I am driving. If i turn off the lights and turn them back on its comes back on. Sometimes I have to do this a few times in order for it to work. What are possible issues that I could be having. Right now I am thinking it could be the ballast or the fuses. If the bulb had gone out it shouldn't be turning on at all right?
View 3 RepliesI have a 07 gs350 monday morning i woke up to go to work and the car started then shut right off i tried a second attempt and it cranked but died out i tried again and instead of turning on the radiator fan turns on high. I disconnect the battery after and plugged it back in to start and it still wont start only the radiator fan turns on high there also also s check vsc light on after all this no check engine light. My battery is brand new too...
View 14 RepliesHave a 2007 LS460L. Recently, I notice when I start the engine, it would start and then, in a fraction of a second, it will shut off. I then have to start over again. This is happening too frequently to be something I'm doing wrong.
Took it to the local Lexus dealership and they could not reproduce it, but told me they have had similar complaints from other owners, including other models as well, with keyless starters.
