I have recently returned to the Lexus family after being away for a couple of years, can't say my time with BMW was enjoyable. I have a 2010 LS 460 and would like to know if it is possible to have a split screen with Navigation and Audio? My Navigation screen appears to be the default, after 30 seconds the audio screen returns to the map.

I would like to have the map on one side and audio on the other as shown but after several trips through the manual, I am stumped as to how get it like this. I know the nav screen was changed on the 2014 and mine is a 2013 so that might be the problem.
View 13 RepliesWhen driving on a highway, the navigation map goes into a split screen, showing info on upcoming exits. For some reason, the screen does not show major highway exits. For example, when driving to work I pass the Mass Turnpike exit which is exit 22. But the exit screen ignores this exits and goes from exit 21 directly to exit 23. It does not seem to recognize exit 22. I noticed this is true for all major highways such as I95 and I495. I'm not sure if this is controlled through one of the setup options, but I can't find anything on it.
View 2 RepliesBig navigation screen it totally blank. Not able to turn on radio. When you start the car you see Lexus logo, then you get warning text after this text its completely black. Backups camera is working and small screen is working. I looked at Navigation fuse, TV fuse they all look good.

Today when I was driving on the highway, all the sudden the audio display screen (no navigation) was turned off by itself, but I still hear the sounds from the speakers. all the buttons were not working. after few minutes, the display system seems reboot itself, then it was frozen at start screen with only shows the Lexus logo on it. until I pulled over and restarted the car, it was back to normal.
View 5 RepliesRecently the battery in our 2009 LS460 died. After installing a new battery my wife (her car) started the car and noticed that the emergency brake was set, but she selected a dealer service option on the dash display and the brake problem was solved. Almost. When she backed it up a couple of feet and pressed on the brake pedal, there was a metallic sound like the disk pads were loose in the calipers. Since this concerned my wife and since it was time for the 55K service, we took it to our local Lexus Dealer. Two days later, we got a call to tell us that the tires were worn to 3/32 tread, so we let them replace the tires.
When we got the car back, the navigation system didn't know where the car was. After reading the owners manual, we discovered that there is a navigation system procedure to update tire changes... the dealer had not done it. We also discovered a navigation system procedure to update battery changes... At the time I installed the new battery, I hadn't done it, so a couple of days late I did it.
The car still doesn't know where it is... most of the time. Some of the time though... it apparently does... for about 30 minutes or 15 miles at a time. The GPS icon randomly appears and disappears.
The latest from the dealer is that we may need a map data upgrade for $300, but I think it's a bad antenna connection.
I recently purchased a 2012 Lexus LS 460. I looked everywhere for an answer, but can not find one. On the navigation screen, the compass can point north or in a 'heads up' position. Most people, as you know, like the heads up (moving icon always points north). However, in this 'heads up' mode, the compass does not seem to indicate what direction I am moving. The compass does change when the car changes direction, but it does not correctly show the direction the vehicle is moving. For example, if I am driving true NORTH, the compass will show NORTH. If I then start to turn righ (moving from NORTH to NORTH-EAST), the compass actually starts to move and show NORTH-WEST. So, when the compass is in 'always north' position, the icon on the navigation screen correct shows the direction the car is moving. But, when the compass is in 'heads up' position...how can I tell what directing the car is moving?
View 14 RepliesMy Navigation started to display a message "Unable to Read Data" and would not display the Map on my Certified 2008 LS460. All other displays worked just fine and there were no other problems with my Navi. This had been an intermittent problem for a while so I decided to bring it to Pohanka Lexus in Chantilly, Virginia. I paid them $130 to diagnose the problem for them to tell me that I need a new Navigation ECU - which at first they quote $15,000.00 I FLIPPED! I let them know that I would deal with not having a map and navigation and got my car back!
When they gave me my car I started it up to see the wrong time displaying on the clock and a message that reads "A program cannot be read. Please consult to a dealer" displaying on my screen. I immediately got my SA out there to look at the message. He tried to tinker with all the buttons and couldn't get the message to disappear so he brought his supervisor to look at the message.
They explained to me that when diagnosing the problem they tried to reset the system by removing by battery and it didn't work (Yeah, Actually it made things worse!!!) and now it is evident that my ECU has apparently completely died (and I find it such a coincidence that it happen to die while in their hands diagnosing the issue). They took the car back to see if they could do anything to get it back to the state it was in when I brought for diagnosis.
Can you customize the Navigation Home Screen? Is it possible to do it on the 2015 Lexus LS 460 ?
I find it strange that my navigation home screen has the dealership name and logo on starting up the car so I figure that it could be set or change.
Is there a video or guide on how to do it? I want to put my family picture as the start up home screen.

I just picked up a 2009 LS 460. It's my third LS, but first 460. How to keep the NAV display on audio? It keeps going back to the map. The other day it stayed on the audio screen, and I'm looking for a way to keep the map from coming back. I don't have a destination programmed.

View 4 RepliesSince having the latest entune update at the dealer, my GPS screen now automatically dims too much when the ambient light is lower in the evening. Tried messing around with the contrast and brightness controls and the rotary dimmer control on the left side of the dash.
Could not get the brightness to be like it was before the update. Street names are pretty much illegible at night. If I raise the brightness at night to the point where I can read the street names, the entire screen is super bright on the eyes.
Took the car to the dealer and they surprisingly agreed this is abnormal. Have an appointment next week to have this problem investigated.?
I have a 2010 (IV) and the screen stopped responding to touch, I looked it up and seems like a common issue in the 2010.

View 3 RepliesAccording to the navigation manual (attached), the navigation screen should go to the home screen within 5 seconds. But my IS never goes to the home screen without pressing the home button, but it always shows the full screen map. I tried many different things including "Auto Screen Change" setting but nothing seems to work.

The navigation screen on my recently went blank, while I was driving to my little brother's graduation. I can still see a faint outline of the screen, but other than that, it is hard to see. Have this problem with their navigation screen? I've tried look in the manual for a solution, but it doesn't have anything useful in it. I've googled for the solution as well, but most people said that if I were to bring it into the dealership, they would just replace my whole unit and that would cost $2000 or more, which is a no-go. I've tried to see if it was a fuse, but I got no idea what I'm looking at when I looked at the fuse box. I'm thinking it is maybe the backlight and that it maybe just died. By the way, the screen still works, I can still press on it and select my preset radio stations, but just can't see.
View 3 RepliesMy new '07 Camry with 5K miles on it, driving along, minding my own business. The navigation was on as it always is, but not in guidance mode. All of a sudden I notice the screen turn dark and I see this error: "MAP DVD - Unable to read data. Check if map DVD is correct." (see image)
I have never removed the DVD from the drive. It is clean as a whistle. I wasn't on a bumpy road. I tried resetting and cleaning it, but no good.
My Prius Navigation Sceen/Climate Control/Info screen will not respond to touch input. When I try to input anything, when I tough the screen, buttons to right of where I am touching come up. For example, on the info screen, when trying to go to the settings screen, all I get is the numeral zero.
