08 LS600hL. The cigarette/power outlet in center console shorts out instantly. I have changed the fuse a couple times. Tested several different plugs. The ashtray and rear console power outlets both work perfectly. Nothing else seems to have any issues, radio, windows, climate, etc.
View 4 RepliesIn my 2007 SF Ltd 3.3L both the Cig lighter and front console power outlet keep blowing fuses. I've checked inside the of the sockets and they seem just fine. This is no big deal but I would like to charge my phone. What I should look at next?

I'm having trouble getting the center box (under the arm rest) removed; I found the 4 screws in it but I'm having trouble getting the cigarette lighter / power adapter out. The outlet doesn't seem to push forward like, say, the one next to the shifter lever. Nor does it seem to unscrew. Am I missing something obvious?
View 3 RepliesI just bought a used 2012 Elantra GLS with 24K miles. I tested almost every possible function of the car before I bought it however I didn't try out the 2 power outlets expecting them to both work on a car with only 24k miles.
Anyway, the center console outlet doesn't work. I'd like to check the fuse box first thing in the morning. I work night shift so I won't be able to get to it til then. Any other things I should look for?
I'm beginning to notice a high pitched whine when I first start up my 2008 LS600hL and turn the wheel slightly (like backing out of my garage). It almost sounds like the beginning of a power steering pump problem, but I think our power steering systems on the LS are electric.
Experiencing a slight whine/growling sound when the car is still cold and the wheel is turned? Maybe the sound has been there all along and I'm just now noticing it.
I did a search on this topic and came up empty. My car is still covered under a CPO warranty, so I'm not too concerned, but was wanting to get opinions from the forum on possible causes (or if this sound is a normal part of the electric power steering we have).
I want to replace the cover on the center console cigarette lighter. I know how to access it from the inside of the console, but I don't know how to remove it. I don't want to break it.
View 3 RepliesThe cigarette lighter adapter inside the center console of my 2010 Prius (next to the USB/iPod and AUX plugs) does not appear to be working, although the adapter underneath the gear shifter works fine. A few weeks ago, I found some coins, which I keep inside that center console that had gotten wedged inside the cigarette lighter adapter cavity. It was after removal of those coins that I first learned that the adapter was not working (I tried a few different devices to make sure that it was the adapter itself not working).
From reading the web, it sounds like the fix may be as simple as replacing the fuse. From what I understand, the fuse is just above the emergency parking brake. If so, where do I purchase a new fuse and how much does a new fuse cost? Also, how do I know which fuse needs replacing? Is that in the instruction manual?
The power outlet in the tray under the front console in my wife's '08 RX400h has stopped working. I checked all three power outlet fuses indicated in the owner's manual and all are good (75 and 76 in the driver's side instrument panel fuse box and number 21 in the engine compartment (type B) fuse panel). Do I need to start ripping out the tray under the front console to find the problem?

I just got the car back from a minor bumper fix from the body shop last week, and my daughter showed me that the armrest controls in the back are dark. Think it could be a fuse, relay or the genius at the body shop had to disconnect something and did not connect something back. If it is simple, I'd rather take care of it, than go back to him again.

I just called the servicing dealer and the SA told me that he felt the same thing when he moved a 600 for a customer making sharp turns, explaining that this is normal from the electric motors. Is this true???
View 1 RepliesI have a 2005 camry le, but just now the power outlet doesnt work. I have checked multiple items in both the outlets, but none of them work. I checked the fuses, but they all look fine. The items work in other cars, just not this camry.
View 4 RepliesI took apart the whole center console and then got to the harness which then I cut the speed sensor and then grounded the park brake bothe wires are violet/purple on the #59 harness which is the biggest harness on the back of the nav unit. It was working and everything was fine, I was ready to run wires for the double pole switch and then the DVD had no sound so then I tried several things and still didn't kick in so then I left it that way and waited till the morning and its like the DVD has a back up speed sensor that kicked in so when you come to a complete stop it works.
I know of another speed sensor 2 but that controls the nav so we dont mess with that wire.
Taking apart the car was easy 4 screws and 1.5million clips and snaps.
And in worse condition after having taken it in for routine maintenance. They also damaged the driver's side door, along the edge there are 8 little chips, one of them larger and very noticeable. They touched them up but the one is still visible. Very disappointing, this was my first tune-up.
Anyway I'm wondering, any product I can use to keep it from tearing more, or where I might look for a replacement. It's where the button is but the outer part is also tearing. I know a replacement won't be an exact match.. and I gave it a good look as I was getting out of the car today and noticed it seems to be yellowing.
This is why I never had a light interior. There are also stains - that of course weren't noticeable at first - on the drivers side seat, from the dye in blue jeans. I did manage to get most of it off w/mild soap and water.

I recently purchased a 2009 CPO LS460 from my Lexus dealer and cannot get the Aux input in the center console to come up. When I plug my Ipod in, and I push the Disc/Aux button on the ML stereo, all I get is either the CD player or the HDD drive but the Ipod will not show up. Could the Aux jack be bad? I have tried several different cords and inputs (ipod, phone music, etc).
View 7 RepliesThe lid to the center console "pops up" constantly. The release button is so sensitive that it doesn't even have to been pushed down for the lid to pop open. The slightest touch to the button will make the lid open. It is such a nuisance! It will close and stay shut so I know it isn't broken. If I rest my arm on the lid it will sometimes pop open. Lexus made a poor design flaw on this by putting the button in such a touchy place.
View 3 RepliesHave an '07 ES350 non-ML audio system with navi. When out to the car today and found out the radio turned on when the car started but most of the audio control buttons on the center console no longer work. They worked fine the previous day. Here is a brief list of what does and does not work.
Power/volume : pushing it in to turn the radio on/off no longer work but rotating it does increase/decrease the volume
Tune/file : works fine
All other audio control buttons on the center dash for cd/am/fm/track control no longer work.
Sound from the speakers is fine.
The mode selector on the wheel works fine.
Navigation works fine.
As it is now, I am unable to turn the radio off since the power only responds to volume control. I am able to switch between radio and cd using the mode button on the wheel and the sound is fine. Could this be a fuse issue perhaps?
I have a 2009 Santa Fe Limited with the Infinity sound system.
Last night driving home there was a split-second power pop/fluctuation in my center console. The lights and sound turned off for a split-second. I didn't notice if this also happened with my driving console or exterior lighting system, but the wife seems to think that it was only the centre console.
Have a 2008 F350 Lariat Crew cab and I don't have any power coming to the center console power points. I unplugged the cig lighters and check the harness itself but no juice. Fuse 41 and 43 test good am i missing another fuse not listed?
