View 10 RepliesI'm having an obvious tire pressure loss on my rear left tire. Fill it up and in a few days I get the warning. I don't see any holes or anything. My question is this. Whats the cheapest route to go about this? I bought the car in June, so wondering if warranty would even cover tires? Is it worth a try? Not sure if I should take to the dealer to check it out, or just a town fair tire place.
View 13 RepliesThe tire pressure light just came on in a 5 year old tire that I decided to put on the ES350.
The two front tires are 36 lbs, two rear were 32, I adjusted them all to be around 32 and the light is still on, including the spare tire in the trunk.
I decided to put this tire on because it has much better tread than the last. Regardless, I don't know why the light is on.
Just got a set of Michelins and love them. I have been driving on them at 36 psi cold and 40 warm but was a bit concerned since I have always run my 22s at 41 cold and about 44 - 45 psi warm so I took the car in for a quick air check. The techs at the shop said I should do 40 cold at 44 warm to support the weight of the car. ( T they actually calculated it based on the weight of the car and load rating s on the tire). After I filled up I just feel liek the car is harsher and noisier . Its odd because I never noticed that much of a differnece with my other tires.
Just wanted to see what ranges others are running on their LS460s with aftermarket 22" wheels.
Suddenly got the "check tire pressure system" error (not the tire pressure one) so I tried the only procedure I could find, turning ignition on and holding reset tpms button below steering colum. Got the tpms resetting message but the previous message came back. How can I fix that issue? Never had that before.

It took a bit of extra time to test each tire to discover the culprit. The dash displays tire pressure readings (1-5 including the spare) for each tire's PSI. Which one is the correlating tire for each reading (1-5). I checked the manual and it was not clear which reading position went to which tire.

View 3 RepliesLast night, I changed to winter wheels and drove today with no problem. Just now one the way home, the low tire pressure warning light blinked for a minute and remained on. I checked the tire pressure and all 4 tires are even at 35psi. I tightened all wheels properly at 76 ft/lb using a torque wrench.

View 8 RepliesI purchased my 2014 Prius v 11/29/2014. Drove it home, all good. About 2 weeks later, while driving down 231 in Alabama, tire pressure light goes off. 3 tires needed air. No dealer and no nitrogen available. So in goes air. One of the tires was at about 20psi. Only tire holding pressure was left front. (Less than 500 miles on car)
View 19 RepliesI have read many of the comments re tire pressure loss but don't know if I have a unique problem or not. I own a 2011 GMC Terrain and my tire pressure is monitored through On Star. Every report I receive tells me my pressure is low in all tires - about the same amount, with little variance. Fortunately I own a air compressor and add air - virtually every 10 days or so.The dealer tells me all tires have small pores which cause leaks and I should go to a tire firm to have nitrogen put in the tires. (He didn't say it would seal the tires but indicated it would solve my problem?) Almost all of the comments on your site do not speak favorably of this. Any thoughts?

View 5 RepliesI purchased a second set of rims and tire pressure sensors from the Tire Rack for snow tires on my 460. Since installation, the tire pressure display on the dash only displays the pressure reading by wheel if I stand still long enough before driving. If I do not wait long enough before driving, the pressure will not be displayed and will ultimately display the tire warning symbol. My first thought is the Tire Rack sold me the wrong sensors, but they insist the Pacific 315 MHZ sensor they sold me is the same as Lexus uses.
View 14 RepliesWe have a new to us 2009 camry that has a slight vibration in the steering wheel. Wife drives the car daily and says its rather inconsistent. The tire air pressure light came on so I was checking tires and noticed something and was wondering if this could be the vibration.
The outer edge tread on the rear tires seems to have wore unevenly. This is the best photo I could get. When you run your hand along it you can feel every other 'lug' is raised a little on the rear side of the tread.

The front tires are wore even, but it appears previous owner didn't rotate very often and plenty of tight turns were made or unproper inflation?
FRONT TIRE
Would rotate? The middle of the tires still have good tread left.

I've got a 2007 Prius and the tire pressure sensor light came on long ago and won't reset. My tires are properly inflated. Rather than to keep speculating I figured I could use the Mini VCI to see if any codes or information come up.

I have had this professionally checked and my tire pressure is accurate. Do I need to get this fixed or will it do any damage if I leave these indicators as they are?
View 4 RepliesSo this morning is just getting better and better. Was coming back in from getting the mail and noticed a small puddle under the passenger side tire/wheel area.
I never ever have a puddle of any sort in my drive way so...I start crawling around the truck and this is what I find. I can free spin the dust seal, but its all the fluid that has be worried. With less then 4 days till I have to haul everyone to the airport this is not what I need.
IF (man I feel stupid for asking) IF I leave it in 2 wheel drive how big of an issue would it be to drive it?
None of the parts will be in before I have to drive everyone out to the airport, this is the only reason I'm even considering this..
Plus would this explain a sudden lost of MPG?
The window sticker for my '07 Passat 3.6 says that the car has the tire pressure monitoring feature. I have yet to find it, and was not under the impression that I was getting that feature when I was buying car. Seeing it on the window sticker a few months after I got the car surprised me.
But so far I haven't found hide nor hair of it. If I had tire pressure monitoring... where would it be?
Any way I can set up the tire pressure warning to come on at 27psi or so? I want to set the tires at 30psi for a more comfy ride and not have the warning light on. Don't care about mileage. Want the cushy Lexus ride.

Would that reset on it's own, or do I have to do something along the lines of when resetting the oil maintenance message thru the speedometer settings?
View 11 Repliesjust noticed a discrepancy between the door sticker and TPMS readings; 36PSI for the door sticker and 47PSI on the TPMS. A long story short, measured with a gauge and the TPMS readings are accurate sent a message to my dealer because I took delivery of the car 10 days ago, no answer. I understand those tires are filled with Nitrogen, are the original values (47PSI) a requirement for Nitrogen or should I deflate those tires to door stickers values ?
