New LS 460 owner (2010 swb). Owned the car for two months now and started hearing a clunk noise from the rear when the car accelerates very slowly. Showed it to the dealer and they could not replicate.
Also hearing a water rustling noise from the right side (appears to be coming from the passenger door); again, this occurs only when the car is accelerating gently from rest.
My LS460 recently developed a rattle from the front drivers side. It's triggered more by rumbles/vibrations from an uneven surface rather than speed bumps or large pot holes.
It sounds a bit like a washer vibrating on a metal tray (for what that's worth)!
Interestingly though it gets a LOT worse when the car is in 'Comfort' suspension mode, and is nowhere near as bad in 'Sports' mode. So it seems that having the suspension higher gives this thing more room to rattle.
I noticed in the service history that the front passenger air strut was replaced 30k ago, so I'm worrying that there is a large bill on the horizon.
So just yesterday, I'm driving and I noticed that dreadful thunking suspension noise. Is this the control arm problem I've been hearing about so much? The 2007 only has 40,000 miles on it. I guess the age of the car is the culprit there right? Or maybe these arms really do go out quickly.

Like an air compressor for a few seconds. It's not loud, but you definitely hear the whine/air type noise. It's almost not even bothersome for me as I've gotten used to it. But when my wife or others are in the car they always ask "what is that"
I have a 2009 460 awd with adjustable suspension and when making a right turn the front left side makes a noise. I have had the dealer look at it 5 times or more but each time I am told that there are no problems. Now that the weather is getting colder it is becoming more pronounced.

View 3 RepliesWhy my suspension is so loud and clunky are doing a swaybar link and upper control arm replacement? I did remove the air suspension unit in order to access and remove the bolts that hold the upper control arm bracket mount onto the frame.
I did not think that would do any harm. Now my suspension is way louder than it ever was to begin with.. I just did a visual inspection and saw that my original parts were cracked and worn in the bushings and links. So I did a swap.

Where the air suspension release valves are on an 07 LS460? I recently had suspension sensor issues which has resulted in the car being jacked up like a monster truck, and now even with the sensor replaced it will not come back down.
It's almost like the car has detected the fault and disabled the compressor. I have tried pulling the battery to see if that would reset everything but it hasn't worked. I'm hoping that if I can release the valve the car will realize that it everything is back at normal height?
I have 2010 LS460L with 76K miles and I hear rattle noise in from driver and passenger side. I took it to the Lexus service center and they said it's the air suspension problem and need to replace this part and would cost about $2K per suspension.
My question is is there anyway I could convert this air suspension to standard coil or gas shocks from Air suspension??
I will be using this for a Limo in NYC and the road conditions are terrible and air suspension is not going to last that long and they are expensive.
Normally, when I approach my LS460 with the key in my pocket, the car will automatically unlock once I touch the door handle. A few weeks ago, the driver's side door stopped unlocking. All of the other doors unlock but the driver's side door does not. If I take the key fob out and use it to lock the door and then unlock it, the driver's side door usually unlocks after several attempts with the key fob. I have changed the battery in my remote to no avail.

View 7 RepliesCame out to find my drivers mirror had been ran into by someone walking by and now the mirror won't retract. You can hear the gear moving, but the housing doesn't move. The mirror works just fine, just the folding action is not working. Before I remove the door panel to remove the mirror assy, can you replace the gear inside or do you have to replace the entire assy?

I'm getting "popping" noises when braking from my front, drivers side suspension. Past knowledge tells me it's probably an upper control arm / Tie Rod/Swaybar link problem. Everything is nice and tight in there.
Also getting a violent "thumping" noise/feeling constantly when driving from the same side.
I just dropped it off at the dealer, and they are probably going to come back saying the upper control arm needs to be replaced (we will see).
My 2007 SWB LS 460 with 22,000 miles on it has required replacement of the driver's side door hinges twice and the passenger front door hinges once. This is obviously of concern, since the original fix on the driver's side failed again within 8 months. The car has light single driver use. My dealer says that Lexus "knows about" the problem.

View 14 Replies2011 F150 Limited 4wd 6.2 liter. I just bought the truck a few weeks ago with 26,000 miles. Late last week I began hearing a mild grind/rustling noise that appears to come from the driver's front. It's not terribly loud (loud enough to hear), but it's annoying. It happens when I slow down (on and off the brake and below 25-30 mph) as well as let off and begin to speed up. It doesn't last but a second after I let off the brake and speed up though. The kicker is it does not happen all of the time. I drove it home from work last night and it did not do it one time, but driving to work this morning it happened every time I did what I described above. I have taken it to our local tire/suspension shop and they claim they could not reproduce the sound which does not surprise me. They did a full inspection and found nothing.
View 14 RepliesI went to go pump gas and this happened. Had to tow it back home. Battery is a few months old. I also tried putting a fully charged jump box to it with no results.
Gonna hook a scanner to it later to see if there is any code. (Shouldn't be any if it's the starter...correct???)
I hooked up a scanner to the car and found:
P0335 ( Crankshaft position sensor)
P0340 P0345 P0365 P0390 Camshaft position sensor
I guess its safe to eliminate the starter. Do all the sensors need replacing or do you think one particular sensor is causing all the other sensors to go off as well.
When I start up my LS460, i hear some rattling noise comming from the engine..sounds like rocks/sand? im not sure but it only happens when i start up the car..after that..the car is completely quiet and drives perfectly fine...

Is there an easy solution, such as a fuse? Or, does something else, more extensive, need to be done, i.e., should I seek out a professional mechanic?
As an aside, around the same time (if not the same time), my folding side mirror for my driver door stopped working. Any possibility they are related?
I have a 2007 Sonata Ltd (63000 miles) and had a clunk in the front suspension. I had the front upper control arms replaced (which were visually badly worn) and that fixed the problem. But now, a several months later another similar clunking noise has developed when I go over those small speed bumps in parking lots.
