I have a 2007 LS 460 with active cruise and lane keep assist (LKA). All works fine during daylight hours but if I drive at night I get the yellow Fault Triangle together with pcs warning and instruction to have system checked by the dealer. The dealer says that there are no fault codes showing on the diagnostic system.
View 6 RepliesMy car (2006 Prius with 250k miles) was operating normally all day today. Still getting very good mileage around 52 mpg on average. Then abruptly, the big red triangle and few other yellow warning lights (check engine, VSC, and an indicator with exclamation mark in the middle) showed up while the car was moving around 20 mph.
Now, the car does not have much power and it was very difficult to speed up or going uphill. Turned the engine off and then back on. The symptoms still persist. The battery indicator was at only 1 bar. Let the engine run for a while and the battery indicator went to 3 or 4 bars. Turned the car off and then back on, the battery indicator went back to 1 bar immediately. Also the battery fan was running at high speed, even through I have just started driving for about 5 minutes.
Will do the following tomorrow:
(1) check 12v battery,
(2) use Torque SW to see if HV battery has proper values, and
(3) read diagnostic codes.
What is the procedure for resetting the Oil Maintenance Required Warning Light on the 2007 Lexus LS-460? The vehicle has keyless ignition.

This is what happened... After not driving the car for 3 cold days, the battery seemed dead...so i jump started the car with another car...and the car started, but started showing a bunch of warning lights... It says, check vsc, brake malfunction, check brakes, check abs...
So i ignored all the warning lights and decided to drive the car on the highway for 30 minutes to fully recharge the battery... After driving for 30 minutes with all the warning lights on, i parked the car and turned it off. Then i tried to restart it again after 5 minutes...and it won't start...
Could it be that it didnt charge the battery because of all the warning lights were on? Is the battery bad? I jumped started car again...but it didn't reset, still got all warning lights... Now turned the car off...and it's dead again...
My 2005 Prius has about 141000 miles on it. The red triangle exclamation point comes on the dash and a yellow exclamation comes on the LCD 1st and then a 2nd yellow symbol comes on the LCD. The problem happens once or twice a day. It seems to start, run, and drive just fine. I do restore antique tractors and I am pretty good with computers and I have some pretty good mechanical know how. Attached are pictures of the lights.
View 1 RepliesA little over a week ago I had my battery go low and set off several brake warning lights on the dashboard. I have a very trusted mechanic and had him look it over. There were no issues whatsoever with the braking system and the lights simply occurred due to a drop in battery voltage. My question would be how to clear the lights. I have seen various people use something called a techstream and was wondering if this would be viable in my situation. If so what is the most updated version of the tech stream as well as a possible tutorial. Below for reference is a picture of the lights that were set off on the dashboard(circled). The dash isn't mine just one that I found but the four lights in question are the same.
View 7 RepliesI have 2008 LS 460 and replace engine oil warning light comes on every 3,000 miles. I plan on changing oil every 5,000 miles. How can I change warning to coincide? What are thoughts on changing every 7,500 if no pulling or hills? I am using synthetic Royal Purple. Is it worth the cost?
View 1 RepliesFirst off I have a 2010 with about 11,000 miles and it has been running great since I got it. This morning I was greeted with the "Yellow triangle" and the "check hybrid system warning". The car started fine and I pulled out of the garage under battery as usual and then the engine kicked in also as usual, everything seemed normal except for the warning lights. Since I have a long commute I just took my wife's car and got to work and did a forum search on this issue. I called my wife and had her turn the car on and off three times and she said it cleared the yellow triangle and check hybrid system but it still had the check engine light on. She also said the car seemed to be running fine and shes driving around town in it. I couldn't find anything on the check engine light. Is it ok to drive it?
View 3 RepliesHad a warning flash up last night that I've not seen before. Had just done a reasonably long run from an airport with 3 burly guys and their luggage. Just as I was pulling up to their hotel the car did a continuous beep and flashed up the warning "Turn Power Off" and flashed the yellow triangle. When I was stopped I was in Park and it was still beeping and flashing this warning.
View 18 RepliesMy parking assist warning system has suddenly stopped working. (2007 LS460) I'm thinking I may have disabled it while pushing some other buttons or doing something else. I changed the distance to farthest but that didn't work. It was working perfectly last week. I did disable the auto down tilt on the steering wheel. Could this have also disable the parking assist?

My new LS460 AWD 2008 is jerking on 60-80KPH(37-50)MPH, when you driving without any acceleration.
I have only 900km on odometer. And it's started jerking from 0. I gave my to Lexus for a test. They tested it over 7 days, and now they are saying nothing is wrong with it. And it's normal for AWD version.( WHAT???? )
They have one more new AWD 2008 and it has the same jerking issue.
I used to have a GS300 and just recently traded in for an 07 CPO LS460 SWB, Mercury Metallic with light gray interior. Love the car, big difference in quality of material and build. Anyways, I noticed that the hood and front fenders get really hot to touch after driving. It seems to be hotter than all my other cars. The coolant gauge in the instrument panel stays in the middle and does not show over heating. The hood stays hot and takes quite a while to cool to ambient temperature. Is it attributed to the engine compartment covered both top and bottom (for aerodynamic reason), which may delay air flow and cooling?
Recently Car and Driver had an article regarding brake overheating in Nissan 370Z Nismo, under harsh repeated braking. The brake fluid would boil and loose vacuum. After analysis, the suspicion was that in the zeal to improve aerodynamics, the engineers did not design adequate brake cooling. I'm wondering if Lexus engineers, in pursuit of aerodynamics, may have compromised the cooling and airflow through the engine bay. Like I said, there are no indications of the engine overheating, just the hood getting pretty hot after even a short drive. Most likely, I'm just paranoid and my OCD is kicking in.
My 2009 LS460 AWD with air suspension now, at 56,000 miles, has this noise frequently during driving and sometimes at idle.
Like an air compressor for a few seconds. It's not loud, but you definitely hear the whine/air type noise. It's almost not even bothersome for me as I've gotten used to it. But when my wife or others are in the car they always ask "what is that"
My fob works fine to start the car, but then randomly while driving the car loses "sight" of the fob and an annoying flashing warning triangle appears along with "Key not detected". It did this right after I took CPO delivery (new fob batteries), but I replaced the fob batteries twice more (using 2 different sources and brands) and it still does the same thing. I think it is the smart key module in the car that is flaking out, because it does the same thing with both fobs and 3 different new fob batteries. On occasion it will tell me to touch the fob to the start button to be able to start the car.
So I now have 3 issues to fix, the peeling trim around the nav unit, the smart key issue, and poorly-balanced tires. Otherwise, everything is excellent.
Having problems with total car vibration, especially after the car sits for awhile? I am told this is normal, because of the type of tires on the car.After five returns to the dealer, Lexus replaced them and the car still shakes when driving?
View 14 RepliesAfter driving most of a day on the road a red triangle warning light came up on the dash and a PCS System Check light lit together with a Check PCS System message in the display site. I checked the fuses and they seem to be Ok. The car runs fine and I don't feel any effect on driving the car due to this message.
