I have ls 460 my rear seat entertainment is not working. i can't open the rear screen and when i hit Display button in left of the navigation screen there is no " rear " word that open the rear screen.
View 8 RepliesI just got a 2009 570 with rear entertainment, It opens and closes on command when prompted from the front screen and when i use the remote control, it also tilts at various angles but that's all I get from it. it is completely blank. No display whatsoever just tilts, opens and closes. I have a DVD loaded in front. Its a Mark Levinson system the DVD plays fine on the dash screen when I put the parking brakes on but the rear screen remains blank I would call it dead if not for the fact that it opens and closes.
View 1 RepliesMy parking assist warning system has suddenly stopped working. (2007 LS460) I'm thinking I may have disabled it while pushing some other buttons or doing something else. I changed the distance to farthest but that didn't work. It was working perfectly last week. I did disable the auto down tilt on the steering wheel. Could this have also disable the parking assist?
View 10 RepliesRecently bought the Lexus 450h and the Rear Entertainment system is an Aftermarket system. It was delivered to my wife yesterday and I had thought they were going to put in the Factory system. After looking at the current system I am kind of concerned about it.
The system looks to be an Invison SL system that is in the headrests. The concern I have is that we use the rear entertainment for our young children and they can't wear the headphones. the way it is set up the audio only comes through the headphones, it won't come over the car speakers. Plus the headphones if they could wear them are not volume limiting
Also someone needs to be in the back to start or stop the dvds. The other luxury suv we have has the factory dvd system. Audio comes over the main speakers and we can start/stop the dvd with controls from the main console in the front. this is not a knock on invision but for our setup it seems like the factory would be better.
I would like to have to the factory system because I like to have it all integrated and working together.
For the first time I noticed a little glowing light[s] in my drivers seat belt buckle [female end....actually 2 lights, one on each side of the female part where the male end inserts]. It glows for about 10 seconds when starting up. Probably useful for connecting seat belt in the dark. What it does at night under normal driving conditions.
I did not see the same light on the passengers' side. Don't know if there is not one or it only works when there is weight in the seat.
Esoteric little item....but just wondering if there should be the same light on the passenger side and , if so, where /how to troubleshoot? Would it be a bulb or built in to the buckle? I did not check rear seat....I will do that next...
I drove the car yesterday night for about 30 mins and parked it at home and after one hour went back to start the car but it wont start. All the lights working fine it gave me an error saying check VSC system and whenever i start the car it gives me sound zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and ends with a fan sound but wont start ...

View 14 RepliesRecently the battery in our 2009 LS460 died. After installing a new battery my wife (her car) started the car and noticed that the emergency brake was set, but she selected a dealer service option on the dash display and the brake problem was solved. Almost. When she backed it up a couple of feet and pressed on the brake pedal, there was a metallic sound like the disk pads were loose in the calipers. Since this concerned my wife and since it was time for the 55K service, we took it to our local Lexus Dealer. Two days later, we got a call to tell us that the tires were worn to 3/32 tread, so we let them replace the tires.
When we got the car back, the navigation system didn't know where the car was. After reading the owners manual, we discovered that there is a navigation system procedure to update tire changes... the dealer had not done it. We also discovered a navigation system procedure to update battery changes... At the time I installed the new battery, I hadn't done it, so a couple of days late I did it.
The car still doesn't know where it is... most of the time. Some of the time though... it apparently does... for about 30 minutes or 15 miles at a time. The GPS icon randomly appears and disappears.
The latest from the dealer is that we may need a map data upgrade for $300, but I think it's a bad antenna connection.
My NAV/Radio system won't function at all. When I turn on the car the first thing I get is the "splash screen" (and advertisement from Jim Falk Lexus), then the warning screen. Radio would come on for a few seconds then the screen will turn black and start all over again. It's in a continuous loop.
When I hold down the volume button for 4-5 seconds, it will re-boot but it will then continue to re-boot itself every few seconds. So is there any way to totally re-set the system? You know, like a "control-alt-delete" to start over from scratch?
I have an appointment on Friday and really don't want to be looking at the system go through this cycle every 5 seconds. It's very distracting. Plus I can't use my NAV, the radio, Bluetooth for my phone, etc...
It's a 2015 LS460 with the Mark Levinson system.
Yesterday I got a maintenance code on the dash of my 07 ls460 and it said to check parking brake system please take vehicle to dealer.
View 5 RepliesOn my 2015 ES350, when I receive a text message on my iPhone a message notification will be displayed on the dash and I can play the message content over the speakers in the car....but here's my question...while I am able to receive and "play" text message content via my entertainment system, I can't find a way to send text messages via the entertainment system...am I missing something?
View 6 RepliesWhere is the fog light relay located in the car? I have checked the fuse and the bulb everything is fine but it wont turn on.
1. Fog light fuse still good (even try to switch to new fuse) the fog light wont turn on at all.
2. Check the connection wire everything is in intact.
3. High beam still working fine using the stalk but fog light still not working. Yes, we can only use fog or high beam, but the issue is low beam and fog not even working.
4. Before the Fog light problem, the driver side fog light is blown. So I replace it with the new bulb. Everything is OEM part there are no aftermarket part or HID .
5. This happen about a week after the driver side bulb blown then all sudden the fog just not working at all.
I just picked up a used 2009 LS 460 AWD last week with 45K miles. I have put about 1000 miles on it so far myself.
When I hit any small depression in the road at 10-45 mph I hear a thump in the rear. The bigger the depression and the more weight in the backseat, the louder the thump noise and even an occasional bottoming out feeling occurs. It hasn't happened at highway speeds so far.
The bottoming out feel occurs only with a medium to large depression. I am not talking about a pot hole, just pavement depressions where two sections are not of equal height or you are transitioning from a primary road to a side street and the is a depression to allow for water run off, etc.
If I have someone sitting in the passenger seat and the backseat and accelerate quickly from a dead stop, I get a similar rear thump and even a bottoming out feel. This occasionally occurs even without a without a depression in the road. With no one in the back seat it does not do it unless there is a big depression in the road.
Finally, when cornering on a 270 degree off ramp at 40 to 50 MPH the rear end will start to hop and bounce. If I slow down to 15-20 mph it goes away. Still, it is irritating and embarrassing. I have tried all comfort settings and get the same results.
Need to change the rear coil over shocks and have a possible how to?
View 2 RepliesI have a broken rear strut on my 2009 LS 460 with 27000 miles. First noticed it about 25000 but dealer said it was only the cold weather and all was fine. I had a mechanic friend ride with me and he said I had a broken part in the rear suspension. Back to the dealer and this time they test drove it and diagnosed the broken rear strut. The tech told me that they had recently seen several LS 460's with the same problem. The broken strut causes handling problems and I am reluctant to drive at highway speeds.
The dealer (and all the other dealers I called) said that there are no parts available for the repair and one told me that the last strut had to be brought from Japan.
I have a 2010 Premium with rear DVD (Lexus) installed. Almost all DVDs stop playing...just with normal DVD wear and tear no major scratches or gouges or dirt. They play in all my other non-vehicle machines with no problems. They have already replaced the first player and the second is actually worse. Also, it will non play and DVDs that I have burned without stopping after about 2 minutes into the movie...again...they play on all my other machines.
View 4 RepliesI have Lexus Ls460 (2008), I have paint the driver door, so they removed the door handled and reinstall it after they finished, the problem now, the keyless access from the driver door not working, I can't enter unless I push the unlock button in the remote, all other doors working fine, and can be open without pressing the unlock button. So is their any way to re-program the driver keyless door? or it could be something wrong with the handle installation?
View 4 RepliesI have some FAINT clicking noise at the rear of the 08 LS460 and I'm thinking it's rear bearing going out..but not sure...what exactly does bearing failure sounds like? I hear this SOFT clicking noise from (more likely) the right rear. The noise is very faint and I have to roll down the window to actually hear it.
If I move through the neighborhood at about 15-20 mph, I hear this clicking faint clicking sounds..and if I speed up a little, the clicking noise increases (in frequency, not loudness). When I go faster like on freeway or normal road, I can't hear it anymore. Probably clicking too fast or not as loud at that speed. With windows up, I can't hear it at all.
Is this has to do with rear bearing going out on me or possibly something else? Any recommendation where I can start looking at? Is it brake pads? The car is 35K miles but since it's 08, unfortunately it's out of basic warranty (time). Is this covered under powertrain?
My self-closing door feature on my driver door has stopped working recently. The other three doors self-closing door feature works flawlessly.
Is there an easy solution, such as a fuse? Or, does something else, more extensive, need to be done, i.e., should I seek out a professional mechanic?
As an aside, around the same time (if not the same time), my folding side mirror for my driver door stopped working. Any possibility they are related?
I have a '13 GS with the Luxury Package that has the rear seat climate & radio controls. I'm not sure if there is an issue or if the system is locked....Of the rear controls everything related to audio portion works correctly...Now if I try to turn on the heated seats, or change the temperature, or blower speed none of those work as they should.
