Any way to disable the initial start up screen on a 2013+ that tells you "Drive safely and obey traffic rules....." then has a "continue" button to select?
View 5 RepliesHow to disable the "I AGREE" button that appears every time the car is started? I have seen other posts that refer to this issue on other non GX models, and take about putting the system in "simple mode" by pressing the SCAN button eight times, then the REPEAT or another button after that. I have tried this on my 2006 GX but with no luck. After I put the audio system into CD playing mode, I press the SCAN button repeatedly and quickly but all it does is scan the audio tracks.
The only other thing I know about my GX is that it is still on its original nav software, and is scheduled to receive the update which my Lexus dealer says is coming out in October. Not sure if this affects its ability to bypass the "I AGREE" screen, or if the software update will affect it either.
Yesterday after coming to a stop and pressing the start/stop button, the vehicle wouldn't turn off. Eventually I got it to turn off (by pressing the button).
After I got it to turn off, I pressed the start button and it does not turn on. I get a message saying "Check VSC" . 1 click from under the hood and that's it. All power is there. Radio/AC/etc all work. Not brand new, but the battery is fully charged.
Trying to diagnose and fix the issue myself before calling for a flatbed to come and pick it up.
I dont think its the starter since I've had issues turning it off. What it might be? Its an '07 with 65k miles.
New owner of previously owned 2008 LS600hL and it has the recurring "PCS not available now" dinging message and i want to disable it for now. Upon researching it i found that it should be under the steering wheel presumably next to the TPMS reset button but I am not seeing it. The location I was expecting it to be (to the left of the TPMS reset) actually has two wires going into what looks like a blank plastic cover plate but no button.

I had a new compressor installed on '07 ES350 and now every now and then the AC button light blinks, the cool air shuts down and I get a message on the screen saying "Check Air Conditioner".
It only occurs occasionally --maybe not at all one day and two or three times another day. I returned to the shop that installed the compressor and they don't seem to know what is causing the problem. (They said maybe a freon overfill and adjusted that --but it's still occurring.)
Is there a way to remove the initial warning screen every time the vehicle starts? Mine is a US 2004 Phaeton. I have been pushing the confirm button for years. Would love for the display to go to automatic confirm or go strait to function display.
View 1 RepliesAccording to the navigation manual (attached), the navigation screen should go to the home screen within 5 seconds. But my IS never goes to the home screen without pressing the home button, but it always shows the full screen map. I tried many different things including "Auto Screen Change" setting but nothing seems to work.

I'm having a very strange problem with my air conditioning unit that the dealer has never seen before. Each time I start up the car, the air conditioner initially fails to turn on. It seems to try to start up for about a minute. The green A/C light comes on, but no air blows out. Then, after about a minute, a message shows up on the nav screen saying "Air Conditioner off". The green light also turns off.
If I then press the A/C button again, the green light comes on, and after about 15 seconds, the air starts to blow and the unit appears to be fine.
This process happens consistently, each and every time I start up the car. The only time it may not go through this cycle is if I just turned the car off within the last few minutes and then start it up again, in which case the air conditioning seems to work fine.
I suspect when I went to the dealer, they did not pay much attention to what was happening the first time they started the car, and then on each successive restart, the symptom failed to reappear because the A/C unit seems to start fine if it was just running within the last few minutes.
Car battery was dead, got a new battery from Walmart and replaced.
After that, from time to time, the engine would not start when pushing the start button, sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries to get the engine to start. This has never happened before.
What is the reason for it, could it be that the walmart battery is not as powerful as the previous LEXUS battery? or something else?
By the way the car is due for an engine oil change with the warning light on. I use Mobile 1 fully synthetic 0w20 and the light went on every 5000 miles.
2008 ls 460 won't start when I press brake and start engine button. Car battery is strong. Tried two different keys. Start engine button has green light and when push all dash lights come but engine does nothing. Tried holding Lexus emblem on key next to button and pressing unlock button on key several times. Nothing?
View 4 RepliesI had my 25,000 service done while my '08 LS460 was in for the VSR. Now about 1000 miles later, I am getting the "Change Oil Soon" message on start up. I assume the dealer did not reset the system after the oil change.
Can I reset the oil change warning now or do I have to wait until the yellow warning light comes on steady?
I can't figure out how to switch off the VSC or VDIM. In my Acura I have a button labeled VSA and it shuts down the traction and stability control. I want to do a burnout or powerslide around a turn. With winter approaching I just want to be able to disable the traction system in case I get stuck.
I remember seeing a TRAC off button somewhere but I can't find it.

View 8 RepliesI woke up to a surprise this morning , the car earlier had this kinda issue where i would press the start button and it would not start and only make "Click" sound .. and after few attempts it would usually start and then this issue went away for few months for unknown reasons
Today it returned back i didn't move the car for 2 days over the weekend down here. I tried to start the car all it would do is Click sound but this time a very faint sound not like earlier where it was much louder .
I am assuming its the starter ? Where is it located ? What i read online and see could be just a bad starter selonoid .
Started the car this morning- and got a message. "Check parking brake system" .
The Auto button for the parking brake seems to flicker, and the park light on the dash blinks. Car make ding sound while driving.
2008 LS460
A mechanic at the Lexus dealer showed me how to reset (remove) the oil change warning message on the gps screen. It has something to do with pushing the A/B odometer buttons when the engine is not running. Unfortunately I did not write it down nor do I remember it.

Next, how long does it take to settle down to a lower RPM and what is lower RPM when the car is still in Park?
Lastly, can tapping the gas pedal after initial start-up bring the idle RPM down while the car is in Park?
