Everytime I open the door to get out of my 08 LS460 the warning bell rings incessantly.
The only thing I can think of is that I'm usually in a parking garage and the lights are on due to the auto-feature on the lights. But, I think sometimes it rings even though the lights aren't on.
Sometimes you open the door but don't jump right out of the car. Is there anyway to disable this ringing bell?
When the car is off and door is open the warning chime is going off nonstop. I just got it back from mechanic and I don't ever remember it being this bad but can't for the life of me remember what I did to disable it before.

View 10 RepliesMy 2007 ES 350 will chime if the car is on and the door is opened. It will also warn you if the car is on and the electronic key becomes out of range.
One day both of these features stopped working. Everything else seems to be working just fine.
On a 2011 RX450h, is it possible to disable the door chime when the drivers door is opened but the car is in accessory mode (i.e. not running)?
Since I just got the RX I've been playing a lot with the settings and audio presets. With the drivers door open the chime just continues forever and I cannot find any option to turn off the chime when in accessory mode.
Any way to disable this annoying chime?

My problem is with the obnoxious seat belt warning chime which seems to go on forever. How to disable it? I use my belt all the time. Don't need a reminder.

And, on the off chance that someone from Ford ever looks at these forums: It would sure be nice if you designed the audible warnings with either a timer in the circuit (so it would sound for a few seconds and then stop); or, provide a cancel button for the chime (as is common in commercial and military aircraft).

View 3 RepliesI'm slowly reading through the ES-350 manual, picking and choosing parts to read. There are several 'Personalized Preferences' that I've noted down and will have addressed at my 1st month service.
I noticed on pg. 21 of the manual that there are settings to set and cancel the door-locking/unlocking functions. These functions are also mentioned in the 'Personalized Preferences' section, so there is overlap here (on paper anyways).
Anyways I tried a couple of times to follow the instructions on pg. 21 to disable the door locking and unlocking when the car is placed in Park and Neutral.
It didn't work for me. The instructions aren't all that clear to me, nor of what they are supposed to accomplish. I'd like to not have the doors lock when I place the shift out of Park and not have the doors unlock when I place the shift into Park.
Now that I have the audio upgraded in my LS, we have uncovered a slight issue with the drivers rear door. The installers will work with me, but I thought there is so much knowledge up here, why not ask.
Everything else on the vehicle works perfect, its just this one door as if all the power is off or disconnected.(ACC or ON power it functions fine) I have checked the fuses under the driver side and the ones in the trunk, they are all fine and we took the front driver door apart to make sure any connections were good. everything seems secure, we even looked over the ECU in the door to make sure it didn't seem fried or anything, all functions on front and passenger doors are perfect.
Here are the symptoms: passenger rear door light wont come on with the door open unless the ACC is on. the other 3 turn on, with or without ACC.
The door lock actuator from the outside on this door wont lock the doors or with the sensing when you approach with the fob and grab the handle (as in the lights there wont light up).
The door closer that finishes off the door being slightly open wont grab and pull it in.
The trunk lights wont come on and there is no fuse or connection issue we can see. Its puzzling.
I need to transport some long pieces of wood and would like to disable the open hatch warning beeping. Is this something I can do with Carista and the OBD2 device?
View 7 RepliesThe door chime, yes the door chime. I have searched fairly extensively using the search tool, on a way to stop the chime when the door is open. I could care less about it chiming when you put the key in the ignition or when your seatbelt is unbuckled (because I always wear my seatbelt you seatbelt Nazis). I am curious if that little switch that is pressed when the door is closed, that stops the chiming, controls anything other than the door, the headlights and the interior lights. I don't care if the lights don't come on inside the car when I open the door.
I was considering taking the switch out and grounding the sensor so the car thinks the door is always shut. I am regularly cleaning out my car because my children think its a trash can, and I like to listen to the radio when I do so. I like to have all the doors open when I'm sitting in the car scrubbing only god knows what off of every surface of my car, so I can get a nice breeze to keep me cool. Don't tell me to "roll down your stupid windows" or "just close the driver door", I don't want too; enough said.
Over the weekend I installed a LOC and amplifier w/sub to OEM stereo in 2013 Camry SE. System has touchscreen and navigation. Prior to installing I disconnected the battery so I wouldn't have any surprises. Well, I got one anyway. After everything was reassembled, the car now chimes when the driver side door is opened (haven't checked passenger door) even when the key is out of the ignition. This happens even after remotely unlocking the doors. It looks like there is an option to remove door chime when opening the door. I know this doesn't apply to when leaving keys in car.

View 3 RepliesFor the past few weeks on my '11 Ltd. when I turn the engine off & open the door the chime starts; doesn't do it all the time, just occasionally, & I can't figure out why. I've tried turning the ignition off with my foot off the brake, on the brake & neither way seems to make a difference. Sometime it chimes sometime it doesn't. I've checked to make sure the seat belt warning chime is off, even though that doesn't make any sense, the seat belt is not the door open warning. how to stop the chiming?

View 5 RepliesI'm trying to get an F150/1997 started that's been sitting for about 2 years. After installing the battery, turning the key, nothing happens. No click, no turnover, nothing. The dash lights come on along with open door chime.
What to check first or troubleshoot this? The vehicle was running fine when parked, battery removed. I was thinking the brake pedal switch might be corroded, or maybe someone unplugged something under the hood or tampered with something.
