I was changing my interior lights with led bulbs on my 2008 lexus ls460, when I briefly shorted out the courtesy light on the the passenger door courtesy light while changing the bulb. Afterwards, the 194 led light was dim on the passenger door while all the other doors and dome were bright. I ran a multi meter test and found that it was only giving 9v.
View 6 RepliesNow that I have the audio upgraded in my LS, we have uncovered a slight issue with the drivers rear door. The installers will work with me, but I thought there is so much knowledge up here, why not ask.
Everything else on the vehicle works perfect, its just this one door as if all the power is off or disconnected.(ACC or ON power it functions fine) I have checked the fuses under the driver side and the ones in the trunk, they are all fine and we took the front driver door apart to make sure any connections were good. everything seems secure, we even looked over the ECU in the door to make sure it didn't seem fried or anything, all functions on front and passenger doors are perfect.
Here are the symptoms: passenger rear door light wont come on with the door open unless the ACC is on. the other 3 turn on, with or without ACC.
The door lock actuator from the outside on this door wont lock the doors or with the sensing when you approach with the fob and grab the handle (as in the lights there wont light up).
The door closer that finishes off the door being slightly open wont grab and pull it in.
The trunk lights wont come on and there is no fuse or connection issue we can see. Its puzzling.
Went to start changing out my door courtesy lights to LED's today, changed the first one and it just flickered for a second when I connected it. I thought maybe it wasn't making a good connection so i made sure it was and nothing, flipped the bulb & nothing.
I went to the back door and tried the same and it worked fine with the led.
Took the front door courtesy light and swapped it with the trunk one to see if it would work and now the trunk one will not work either. no matter if Im using the normal stock bulb or LED, No power with a test light either. Fuses are ok.
The other 3 doors have power but not the trunk and front pass door, its like the circuit is dead there.
The passenger courtesy (in the bottom of the door) light bulb went out and I replaced it, and it still doesn't work. The same bulb works fine the driver side location. So i'm looking for the fuse, and can't locate it, anywhere. All the other lights and door functions work.

View 2 RepliesMy driver and my driver side passenger (slightly) door squeaks when I open and close it. I know it has to do with the door checks. The black plastic thing that holds the door open 1/4 or 1/2 way. I don't want to try something that might not fix it like greasing it. I don't want a glob of grease on there and it still squeaks. Is there a way to adjust it?
View 8 RepliesHere is what is happening, if I press the unlock and lock button on remote or from any switch in the car , the front passenger door will not unlock! all of the doors will lock and unlock, except the front passenger dorr will not unlock only, it does lock,just not unlock, i think it may be a bad motor or actuator, I am sure it will be covered under the CPO warranty, especially since its only been less than 1 week since i had it.
View 10 RepliesWas working on a friends 06 F-250 and was trying to wire in some plow headlights. I must have shorted something out and the Passenger side low beam doesn't work. The high beam works and the drivers side high and low work. The fuse under the dash is good. From looking around, is it possible that the multi function switch on the column got shorted out? Any way I can test? Any other things I can check?

I don't want to just start jamming the screwdriver in randomly, as I will probably crack something.
Well, i dropped off my car to the dealer on Friday because i had no audio what so ever, i checked the fuses and they were all fine. The dealer called me today and said the amplifier in the trunk shorted out, they are ordering a new one from Mark Levinson and will have my car til at least Wednesday. I've only had the car for 4 months and the audio settings were on default.
Oh and I'm driving around in a crappy NX 200t, the body roll on this car is ridiculous.
I have a 2007 ES 350 with Xenon lights, a while ago the driver side light went out and I had both lights changed at a Toyota Dealer with after market parts, because they said the original parts are too expensive to buy. anyways after I changed the bulbs , the new ones are dimmer than the original ones, why this is happening? also don't know whether they switched the ballasts or not, now my passenger side light is going off and coming on the next day. How to address this issue? or where I can find the original parts?
View 4 RepliesJust noticed while I was driving that the led lights in lower drivers door courtesy lamp was on. All other lights like dome are off.... I can open door and dome comes on and close and it goes out but my drivers door lamp just dims a little but stays on.
I tried to leave the car and lock....all lights shut off but the drivers lamp! Had to disconnect lamp for now to avoid drain. What could cause this?
Just a thought.....could the LED lamp go bad and cause this?
I have a 95 4-door Explorer XLT. When either front door is opened, the front courtesy door lights and the front dome lights on the overhead console don't come on. (I have tested and/or replaced the bulbs.) However, the rear and cargo dome lights do come on. The LED display on the overhead console does correctly display temperature and direction. The lamp buttons on the overhead console, also, don't turn on the map lights. The interior dimmer switch will turn on just the rear and cargo dome lights. The fuse is good and the vanity lights in each sun visor work fine.

View 2 RepliesThe Battery Light flashes on 2002 excursion 7.3l. I have been having a problem for several months, one of the batteries ended up being shot, alternator checks out. Problem is there is nor rhyme or reason as to when or if the light will flash, it is not consistent with a shorted wire that is bouncing around and grounding out.
View 14 RepliesSo I took my GTI in for TSBs, new wipers, the door seal creak and new wheels (old ones were not painted behind the spokes) - when it was returned to me, I noticed (after I got home) the red door stripe on the passenger side would not light up. At one point they had taken that door panel off to see if it was creaking instead of the seals (which of course, it was not) and I assume that they forgot to connect something, or unplugged something accidentally. Any other suggestion, like a magical fuse I can replace? I so don't want to travel 60 miles back to this guy. And not only did they not fix the seals, the noise is worse than before, I think from them messing with the doors. But anyway, I'm looking for possible DIY fixes.

Issue: door ajar light stays on, power locks on driver and passenger door don't work, radio stays on after truck is off an door is opened.
Events leading up to issue: went to temporarily hook up a wolo dixie horn to see if it worked. Wanted to do it fast so I took + cable, tied one end to the battery terminal and then connected other end to dixie horn relay. I then grounded both negative wires to the truck. One ground on the frame the other I temporarily wrapped around a one of factory ground mounts under the dash. Immediately after doing this the problems stated above started.
How can I fix this. I need to fix this by tomorrow. I have a guy from Craigslist coming to look at the truck. Now the 4x4 issue.
Truck has zf6 manual and the electric 4wd select ****. Just thought I'd list this if it was needed to be known for solutions.
4x4 high light stays on in while 2wd all the time. 4 low will stay on after switching back to 4 high and 2wd but it goes out if I ether stop the truck shut it off then restart it. or back up and slam on the brakes. Also when in 4 high the front driveshaft won't spin. However It will spin when in 4 low.
Another random issue I'd thought I'd just list while I'm writing this.... Cruise control does not work. And when I press the "on" button and the "coast" button at the same time the horn honks.
