Two random times I put the car in reverse and the back up camera showed a blank black screen. I have to turn the car off and restart It for it to work.

View 1 RepliesIs there a way to take the rear view camera input and add a DVD player and " trick" the screen to think it's in reverse so I can play a DVD on a no ml system .? But I can up on a great black on black 08 with low miles and decided to get it and try to figure out a way to do this later.

View 5 RepliesI have a 2013 Elantra GT with 38k miles on it and when I put my car in reverse today, the backup camera screen turned black with the red/green/yellow gridlines instead of showing the camera video. The radio unit itself is fully functional (display, touch screen, channel tuning, etc.) so I'm wondering if the camera could be shot?

View 4 RepliesJust purchased 2010 lll w/ Nav and backup cam. Although the cam works fine it doesn't show a grid. I drove a 2008 w/ cam and that did show a grid. The salesman stated some camera's did show it and others don't.

View 2 RepliesIn my 2009 standard prius, the back up camera often, maybe 50% of the time, is just black. It has some scrolling look, and sometimes i can see a faint image of whats there. The warning text on the screen is still there, and I am positive the is plenty of light, and nothing blocking the camera.
Its almost as if the TV rabbit ears need some adjustment. Flickery images, images literally scrolling left to right, etc. Other times, its perfect. Where do i start? loose wires somewhere?
BackUp Camera just stopped working! I got into my car today and unbeknownst to me, when I went to park my backup cam just completely went blank. After a few few hours and two short trips, I tried again. Same thing, nada on the screen.
I will post video of the issue, I'm going to Lexus in the am to see what they say. I saw some people have had issues with their music amp clipping. It has happened to me too, but only for a few seconds. I'm starting to think its an electrical issue. We'll see
All of the backup camera systems I have seen (which are in Chevys) have superimposed guidelines on the camera view to align the vehicle into the proper spot between the parking lot markings. I road tested a 2014 RX350 with Nav system (with backup camera) the other day and it did not have these guidelines. It just showed a nice rear view picture but offered no assistance in aiming or aligning the vehicle when backing into the parking spot.
Is it just possible the guidelines were turned off in the Nav menu somehow? On the other brand cars, the guidelines actually curve as the steering wheel is turned -so you can use those line to perfectly back into a space. It would be a big oversight IMO if Lexus didn't build this guidance feature into their backup system.
The navigation screen on my recently went blank, while I was driving to my little brother's graduation. I can still see a faint outline of the screen, but other than that, it is hard to see. Have this problem with their navigation screen? I've tried look in the manual for a solution, but it doesn't have anything useful in it. I've googled for the solution as well, but most people said that if I were to bring it into the dealership, they would just replace my whole unit and that would cost $2000 or more, which is a no-go. I've tried to see if it was a fuse, but I got no idea what I'm looking at when I looked at the fuse box. I'm thinking it is maybe the backlight and that it maybe just died. By the way, the screen still works, I can still press on it and select my preset radio stations, but just can't see.
View 3 RepliesI installed rvc couple of months ago. When I put in reverse, only shows straight yellow lines on screen. Is there any way to activate to lines turn with steering wheel (like cars with parking sensors)? I was wondering if there is Vag_com trick available for this option.

Gave up. Went to dealer expecting a unpleasant $$ (buy a new nav screen) type of surprise. nope! service writer pulled it in to the shop and ....
Disconnected the NEGATIVE battery cable. Fixed it right away and didn't charge me a thing (shouldn't have anyway) He said that sometimes the computer just gets scrambled and shuts itself off as a precaution. So if you nav screen is blacked out and unresponsive give that a try.
I have a 2007 Camry XLE with a four cylinder engine. Noticed radio and clock quit working. The radio screen is blank. None of the buttons work. Popped hood open to check fuses and noticed corrosion on positive battery terminal. Cleaned battery terminals up and still nothing on radio and clock. Everything else seems to be working correctly. Checked smaller fuses for radio1 and radio 2. Checked all other small fuses in engine compartment and under dash. Still not working. I also pulled battery out and had Oreillys check it. It was good. Not sure what it could be.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2016 LX570 with 5,000 miles on the odometer. This morning the navigation screen is blank and the radio does not work. Took the truck to the dealer, they said Lexus is aware of the problem but does not have a solution. They will call me back when Lexus figures out what is wrong. No offer to give me a loner with a functional navigation unit.
View 3 RepliesSo when I got my car a couple months ago there was this problem where the backup camera wouldn't come on every now and then when I shifted into reverse so I decided to get it fixed under warranty. the dealership said the problem had to do with the whole infotainment system or something so they gave me a whole new center console and navigation screen for some reason but after I got my car back a couple days ago it was working fine up until today where the back up camera won't even come on at all anymore. I've driven the car about 5 different times today and the backup camera never came on once.

She said the music quit playing but didn't notice anything on the screen. Is there a setting I have to change/activate to have the message show on screen?
