I have a 2011 LS 460 with 28K miles in very good shape although there is a noise most audible when I am in a stop sign that disappears when I shift the transmission to "P". The noise is like a tackat tackat tackat tackat . I took the car to the dealer and the service advisor claims is normal. Is it or my car is defective?

View 5 RepliesMy parking assist warning system has suddenly stopped working. (2007 LS460) I'm thinking I may have disabled it while pushing some other buttons or doing something else. I changed the distance to farthest but that didn't work. It was working perfectly last week. I did disable the auto down tilt on the steering wheel. Could this have also disable the parking assist?
View 10 RepliesAfter doing a Total Brake job on My 08 LS 460 plus Rotors. I got a warning message that my Parking Brake was inaccessible and to see the Dealer . I went back and changed all the Parking Brake Hardware to solve the Problem and I am still getting the same Warming Message.

View 14 RepliesI just recently upgraded to a 2007 LS460 from a 2001 GS300 (rear-ended and totalled in an accident). Anyway, I have it for almost a month now, just took it to Firestone Auto Care for a full synthetic oil change for the very first time. I also purchased the life-time alignment and rotated the tires. Last night when I put it in Park, it started to shake pretty badly. I took it to them this morning, but it didn't reproduce the obvious shake so they said bring it back if I feel it again. What could have caused this? The oil change? The alignment? Or could it possibly be the tire rotation? I also notice that the ride is not as smooth and quiet anymore when I'm driving. I can hear the engine bay swirling about, is this normal? I swear I didn't hear that before. Also, my front passenger seat seems to vibrate more than my driver seat.

The Bluetooth seems to be working just fine, however everyday when i leave work my phone s not recognized because it has recognized another phone. Once I re-establish my phone it works fine.
I am wondering if the generic Bluetooth security code that Lexus has is allowing other phones to link to my car and then my phone disconnects. My parking lot has quite a few Lexus
I want to change the security code but wonder if I do this if I might lose my contacts I have entered

I have a 2008 LS460 with 79K miles. Everything on the car is great, except this vibration at idle while in drive. For example, when I stopped at a red light I feel this vibration through the steering wheel, in the driver seat and the passenger side. Now, when I put it in reverse, neutral or on park (foot still on or off the brake and vehicle stopped) the vibration goes away.

View 14 RepliesHaving issue with a moon roof rattle in the up position, sounds as if the glass is loose. If I slightly close the rattle stops. Not sure if I want lexus taking apart the moon roof/ head liner to repair. I may just live with it, but would like to get it looked at. 2011 LS 460 sport.
View 8 RepliesI went to go pump gas and this happened. Had to tow it back home. Battery is a few months old. I also tried putting a fully charged jump box to it with no results.
Gonna hook a scanner to it later to see if there is any code. (Shouldn't be any if it's the starter...correct???)
I hooked up a scanner to the car and found:
P0335 ( Crankshaft position sensor)
P0340 P0345 P0365 P0390 Camshaft position sensor
I guess its safe to eliminate the starter. Do all the sensors need replacing or do you think one particular sensor is causing all the other sensors to go off as well.
When I start up my LS460, i hear some rattling noise comming from the engine..sounds like rocks/sand? im not sure but it only happens when i start up the car..after that..the car is completely quiet and drives perfectly fine...
View 14 RepliesI purchased a brand new 09 LS 460 a few weeks ago - it is an amazingly beautiful car and a joy to look at.
Unfortunately, I think I have the dreaded wind noise problem, as there is very noticeable wind noise above about 65 mph - it gets pretty bad when it is really windy outside.
I love driving the car and have a long daily commute - however, this issue it starting to bother/annoy me and I find it takes away from my enjoyment.
So just yesterday, I'm driving and I noticed that dreadful thunking suspension noise. Is this the control arm problem I've been hearing about so much? The 2007 only has 40,000 miles on it. I guess the age of the car is the culprit there right? Or maybe these arms really do go out quickly.

Like an air compressor for a few seconds. It's not loud, but you definitely hear the whine/air type noise. It's almost not even bothersome for me as I've gotten used to it. But when my wife or others are in the car they always ask "what is that"
Ly 2007 LS 460 just started have a wind noise around the drivers side door pillar. Is it time to change the rubber molding around the door. If so, where would I start to buy one?
View 3 RepliesI recently purchased a beautiful 07 LS460 with 24K miles about 3 weeks ago.
About 2 weeks ago, I noticed a loud clicking / hammer noise from the dashboard lasting about 15- 20 seconds and after reviewing numerous threads here, I realized it could be my blender door / damper due to the infamous cabin air filter change. .
It must be noted that the Dealer did not change the cabin air filter and when I looked inside my glove box, I could easily open / close the blender door using the recirc ac button. Additionally, my cooling and fan is working fine as well, so I am not too sure that this is a blender door issue.
My question is that the noise continues to happen for about 20 seconds when the car is started and shut off. Since my blender door / damper opens and closes smoothly, is the servo motor going bad or servo sub assembly?
If it is my servo motor, could it be possible that it was damaged when the cabin filter was replaced? With the car only bearing 24K miles, I cant believe my servo motor has already gone bad!
I picked up a 09 ls460 swb a few months back and am slowly turning it into my daily.
at an angle causes a loud popping noise from my roof. I checked the headliner to see if anything was loose but came up with nothing. This occasionally happens on sharp turns on uneven ground.
I recently lowered my car so now this is happening way too often.
I have some FAINT clicking noise at the rear of the 08 LS460 and I'm thinking it's rear bearing going out..but not sure...what exactly does bearing failure sounds like? I hear this SOFT clicking noise from (more likely) the right rear. The noise is very faint and I have to roll down the window to actually hear it.
If I move through the neighborhood at about 15-20 mph, I hear this clicking faint clicking sounds..and if I speed up a little, the clicking noise increases (in frequency, not loudness). When I go faster like on freeway or normal road, I can't hear it anymore. Probably clicking too fast or not as loud at that speed. With windows up, I can't hear it at all.
Is this has to do with rear bearing going out on me or possibly something else? Any recommendation where I can start looking at? Is it brake pads? The car is 35K miles but since it's 08, unfortunately it's out of basic warranty (time). Is this covered under powertrain?
Purchased a new LS 460 first of this year. Definitely not as quite as my LS430 and has an annoying pinging sound which the dealership says can't be fixed and is a normal sound for the car. Talked today with Service Manager and his lead mechanic and was told this is normal.
Problem: When I purchased this car for wife I had an expectation that it would be a quite running car. Not sound like a diesel engine, especially when at idle. I've read about others with the same problem and wonder if there is a fix out there for this annoyance. Lexus claims it is a fuel injector noise. Some people here stated that had there car fixed by Lexus Engineers.
My LS 460 has a pulsing wheel/front end noise that seems to increase as the speed increases from 5 mph to about 30mph and then fades out. I brought it in for service and they test drove it twice with 1 and then 2 service techs. They could hear the noise and said to me that they think it is cupping on the tires. The tires are in great condition inside to outside.Tires have only 14000 K. I switched the back to the front. The same dut-dut-dut-dut sound increases as the speed increases to about 30mph.
I believe that the noise is something more serious. I noticed that when the suspension compresses over a high point in the road at say 20mph the sound will stop during the time the car is comming of the high point in the road. Could this be a bearing/suspention- or something with the breaking motor because I also have been using the break hold feature for several months and not sure if that could cause harm. Also I do hear more grind or grumbling when turning the wheel to the left at low speed then when turning to the right.
